Just wondered who this was.

The 866-868-9977 is the number for the Breast Cancer Society....all you had to do was call it back.

6 calls a day until just before 9:00 PM.  I  answered today, told them I considered there actions abusive harassment and told them not to call back.

We shall see.  This is the latest mania and I will not give any money.

Is there an official way to complain, or prosecute?

My phone log shows they called all day long while I wasn't home, but left no messages.  Later, when my husband told them I wasn't home, they told him "yeah right" and hung up on him!  Very rude!

The whole point of this site is to avoid talking to these telemarketers, so why would we call them back?

Have been getting calls from this number, have asked repeatedly to be taken off their list, but it falls on deaf ears. Think next time I am going to use a boat horn. Maybe they'll get the message.

If the new rule by the Federal Trade Commission, effective September 1st that prohibits unwanted "Robocalls" is valid and waiting to serve, then it is our obligation to let them know of these calls.

Mitchell Katz, of the FTC Office of Public Affairs instructs people to call a Complaint Assistant at 1-877-FTC-HELP (1-877-382-4357) The penalty in calling people who have not given their prior approval (!!??) is UP TO $16,000 per call. Most likely a fine of $100 even, would give them a kick in the rear and the realization that the fine is PER CALL and it is apt to increase if they don't cease and desist.  Jon Leibowitz, Chairman of the FTC  says "this bombardment of precorded pitches, senseless solicitations, and malicious marketing will be illegal. If consumers think they're being harassed by robocallers, they need to let us know, and we will go after them".  So.....there you are.

I wondered who was calling - 4 times so far today - and several times that I know of yesterday. The first time yesterday, I picked up the phone quickly without looking at the ID and was told in a robot voice ... our representatives will be right with you. We apologize for the delay ... lol!

I quickly hung up as I don't want to talk to their reps, whoever they were, and I certainly didn't want to wait on hold to talk to a telemarketer! What, are they nuts?

It is harrassment. I won't be donating anything to the Breast Cancer Society, that's for sure, if this is the way they do business.

We keep getting these calls all day long. Never leaves message. Doesn'give name. Please stop these calls. We don't know them.

Get 4-10 calls a night from this number. I just let it go, but it interups dinner conversation, TV shows, movies, or whatever we are doing. It happens so aften most nights I feel like yanking the phone out.  And I am on DO NOT CALL.

These people call all the time.  I have told them REPEATEDLY to put me on THEIR do not call this as was instructed by the feds who say that just because your numbers are on the DO NOT CALL registry this does not apply to charities etc. and said to instruct them to put your numbers on their do not call list.  As of yesterday (nov. 18, 2009) I have now told them to put me on their list 8 times to NO AVAIL!!!!  I would consider this my offical notice of harrassment and intend to send this same letter to the Federal gov't who govern this.  No wonder no one wants to support/donate to this.

They have called at the minimum of 15 time today. I no longer answer the phone.

Call any where from 4 - 8 times daily.  I do not answer the phone.  I've heard it is the Brest Cancer Society.  As my mother in law had breast cancer many years ago and survived, I donate to the American Cancer Society yearly and designate the money go to breast cancer research.
I do not, however, answer calls that do not leave a message, identify themselves on the caller ID, or call 4-8 times a day.  I consider it "harassment," even though it is a charitable organization; or maybe it's not.
Is there any way to get these calls stopped without talking to the caller myself?  I have heard stories that the telemarketers are rude and that asking to get the calls stopped does not work.

You can be sure they will continue to call and call and call. I never answer the call anymore.

I've been on the "do not call" list since it's inception. The list is worthless.

Have received numerous calls from this number and it is very annoying as I also am on the Do Not Call List.  If is the Breast Cancer Society calling, I believe the List does not apply to charitable organizations; at least that's what I've been told.  Best thing to do is just not answer the phone anymore for anybody I guess.  I do not have caller ID, but am able to find out who's calling by dialing *69.

I actually gave a pledge to get them to stop calling. (they still call while I'm not home) It's actually a fundraising firm contracted by the (alleged)non-profit. From what I read on the FTC's do not call faq sheet, that means they are a telemarketer & are NOT EXEMPT fromt he Do Not Call registry, so go to the FTC website and file a complaint.

According to the pledge forms the company calling is actually Associated Community Services. I did a little bit of internet research and learned that they have multiple numbers that they use to harrass people on behalf of several questionable charities. I'm mailing them a threatening letter today, and if they call again next week I will report them.

Calls are from this number and other numbers. We are on the do not calllist and have also asked for these calls to stop
