never leaves a message, when I do answer they will not tell me who they are or represent until I confirm who I am.  sounds scandoulous

They are Merrick Bank.  They issue credit cards to people and call people if the are late on the bill.

They call our business line daily - sometimes 5 times a day.  When I finish saying my name, the call gets disconnected.

Yeah these ppl call me 5 to 10 times a day and I sleep during the day and work at night they are really pissing me off and they don't understand stop calling

If they were legitimate, they would leave a message and they wouldn't hang up when people answer the phone.
And why would you use the same initials as the person you're replying to?

i work for a government agency and these calls are illegal and unwarranted, no one has time for these games that they play as the robot methodically calls 5 or more times a day, very irritating...

1-866-874-0110 is not a valid number. If you are sure that you got a phone call from a number beginning with this prefix, the caller may have 'spoofed' caller ID.

Merrick Bank from 866-874-0110 as a Collection Agency called on May 5th 2016 - 1:42pm and 3:11pm PDT

This and several other 800 type numbers are solely from the collections arm of Merrick Bank. They are not shy about harassing people if they think certain people can be reached at a given number, even if those people (credit card deadbeats) are no longer using that number. You may have gotten a new number formerly used by a person in a bad-debt crisis, and if Merrick Bank thinks that person (formerly using your new number) can be reached there, they won't quit ever, regardless of how much you explain the situation (i.e. like a new number cellphone account etc.). They like to call leaving a voicemail message to "call Merrick Bank at.." ..this or 30 other collections numbers they use. If they call and you pick-up they will hang-up because that would mean they'd have to identify themselves, which is something they don't ever do, despite whatever they tell you over their main phone line.

If you need to deal with this bank it's best to call them back at their main number 1-800-204-5936. There you will at least deal with nice people. The people working at their collections group are nasty, sometimes rude, and very disrespectful, because they assume you're a creepy deadbeat unwilling to pay your bills.

I have an account with them which I pay always on time or ahead of time.  But they keep calling me hoping to get a hold of someone else who they are convinced uses my tel. number (maybe she did once but now its my number not hers). I called their main number six times to iron out the situation. The people working there in the collections dept are almost as bad as the people they are trying to harass. And harassment is illegal for any reason.

Now when I call there and identify myself, they ask me to wait a few minutes and come back recording my call, because I told them I've contacted a Philadelphia lawyer regarding their bad-debt harassment issues by someone else toward me; all issues that I have absolutely nothing to do with.

Be careful these people are sharks. If they start in with you, it's best to find a consumer lawyer that deals with such nonsense.

Got a call twice from this number. 1st time they hung up. 2nd time I missed the call, no message. Googled it, got this post. I never had a Merrick Bank Card. I don't even have a Credit Card period.

Just block the # and pay when you can.

I wrote a BBB complaint because they used a government number to call my cell number to call me while I was out of the states on work.  They were told not to contact me on a work number and they wouldn't tell me how they got the cell number that they had because we did not provide it to them other than on a pay stub to show employment.  We told not to contact this number they said that they could call me on any number they felt necessary to contact me at.  I told them to cancel my card and all correspondence had to be done via written from here on.  They still have not adhered to this request.  Unbelievable.

I get this message constantly, I do have a credit card with Merrick Bank and its listed in my phone number.. I call  the 800 number on my card every time confirm my account is up to date (it has a 0 balance for last 6 months). No one can figure out why they keep calling because they say they are not calling me. Yet the calls keep coming "please call merrick bank"

I am getting the same thing I call the bank back directly they confirm I am in good standing have no outstanding debt with them yes this automated system keeps leaving a phone number on my voice mail (all calls go directly to voice mail phone is used for business only)
