Automated message seeking arthritis pain clinical research guinea pigs...er, I mean "patients."

(This seems to be the same message and people that called me last month from 877-892-4432 -- I put this same info on that number on this site as well.)

Thank you Rob.   I just got the same number at 845pm  .  did not answer but the same message was left saying you can make up to 500.00 for medical info.   Hopefully no one will fall for this....

Yep, got the same call about a rheumatoid arthritis study being conducted "in your area".  I DO have RA but I would never consent to any study by an unknown source.  Leave the guinea pigs to the guinea pigs!!  Also, on my Caller ID it came up "Clinical Research".

Please - no one fall for this.  I don't believe the $500 for a second!

Same message as above, scammers!!!!!!

Multiple calls over a couple of weeks. Same RA guinea pig robo message every time. A legitimate study would identify the company running the study even they were not identifying the pharma they represent. So, yeah, I'm calling this a scam, too. Either that or they are too stupid to be running a study.

Caller ID says 800 Service.  I didn't pick up because I do not have time for scammers and losers.

Called me from 866-874-4572, I picked up the phone and said nothing.  There was no one there because it was an auto-dialer and it waited until someone picked up the phone before they transferred to a human.  When human said "hello" I said "no" and then waited.  Long pause. They then tried to have a conversation with me.  I asked if they were trying to sell me something. They said No.  I said "don't call here any more, remove this number from your list".  They said "oh, we'll be calling you again!"  Kept them on the line talking nonsense for awhile hoping to figure out what the hell they wanted.  Never asked for information, actually seemed to enjoy sparring with me.  After I hung up, I added the number to the call blocker on my ATT account.  Now the auto-dialer will call back 6-7 times within 2 minutes. I don't get the calls, my phone doesn't ring but I know they called because I see it in the logs online. Now they call with +11 866-874-4572 and I can't block this with ATT!!!!   Same #, just has a +11 in front.  Calling ATT to see if they can do something.

Finally just called the number back and it is ACURIAN HEALTH CLINICAL TRIALS.  Person on the phone was much nicer than the boiler room telemarketer that originally called.  Also- the manager at ACURIAN looked up the phone number and said they have no record of calling it.
So that means that they may be jobbing this out to a contractor to auto-dial, or there is some other kind of spammy operation that is spoofing the 866-874-4572 number.
I have a feeling that reality is there is a commission for leads for these studies and there is a boiler-room outfit calling for no other reason than to get you to call that number back so they can talk you into doing one of their "clinical studies".
I now have dozens of entries in my phone log of unwanted calls and I plan to sue in small claims court for each one for $500.

Also- I confirmed with ACURIAN HEALTH that 866-874-4572 is indeed a number they use and again they claimed to have no record of my number "in their system".

Same story.  An R/A clincial study by Acurian is being held in my area.  I asked why they were calling me because no one here has R/A.  They cited the "clinical study" once again.  I told her that they were spoofing the phone # above.  The woman said she didnt know what spoofing meant.  Yeah right!  I told her I've taken her phone number (the one that shows on my caller id CONSTANTLY) and Googled it.  It comes up as some florist in Oklahoma!  Going along with her innocent story (which I haven't believed from the start), I asked why she was calling me.  She of course said that it was given to her by some 3rd party.  Yeah right.  I hung up after telling her I didn't believe her for one moment.  I told her she was a scammer.  There will consequences if she or anyone called again.

I pity the people that do this for a living--in that, they must be awfully desperate.

Same calls using same phone # too.  I can't tell you the company name, because my Caller ID doesn't show it.  Just the number and Toll Free Caller.  I have a lot of these calls with this number.  I would say at least daily.  What do they really want?

I never answer unknow incoming calls.  Had one today from 866 874- 4572, no message.

These people keep calling when I ask them to stop, to take me off their list, and even when I tell them they have the wrong number. They call at 9:30 at night! Called twice today!

They call at least twice a day usually around 9am and the afternoon around 4pm PDT. I had them on call block and they still keep calling. Now I have taken them off call block, as that doesn't help. I will wait for them to answer and when someone answers, I will blow a whistle in their ear until they hang up. What else can I do? The DonNotCall is a joke.

Read your comments. I want to know what is a “high risk healthy adult”.  Can’t get any response from them.

Rob posted here in 2013.  I really doubt that he will be stopping back after 7 years to respond to you.
