- Maria| 4 repliesReceived a phone call and voice message from "AETNA" today 03/18 around 3:04 PM. The recorded voice indicated the call was about "important information [and] please call 866-887-9741and then enter a seven digit pin number. If we do not hear from you soon we'll try again. Than you and goodbye" This call did not sound legitimate at all. Does anyone know who owns this number?
- Caller: AETNA

- Retired DonWeird to see "legit" yet with 3 calls to customer service I'm still not sure. I'm new with Aetna just this year. We both were called on our cellphone. My 1st call to customer service, she said some other dept. could be calling me. The 2nd call he gave me phone numbers for me to call the Health and Security Dept and said it was a scam. Now the 3rd call about this person was more it was a scam and just today somehow the Health and Security dept was sending some warning communication to them. Web pages show Atena perhaps sending out warnings about this a couple years now. They just got my cell number on this last open enrollment last Nov so how the scammer get my number? I can think like calls that I have received for banks I don't use its probably scammers with someone calling number after number wanting to get lucky. After the computer voice ask you to say yes or no to your name the next question was what is your zip code. That's when I hung up.
- Caller: Aetna Medicare
- Retired DonToday we both got calls and they left voicemail for us to call and use the code numbers to be sure when we called that it was indeed us. Not calling them back!
- Caller: Atena Medicare
- janiceWe have received two calls from this #. I believe the calls to be a scam.j
- TandemdriverGot phone message from Aetna (1 877 887 9741) with 7 digit Pin# to identify me on a call-back. It sounded robotic, computerized and generally fishy. I called Aetna customer service to check and they said it's a marketing campaign and has no bearing on your healthcare coverage. They have received numerous calls inquiring about this. Response optional.
- Caller: Aetna
- MCJ866 887-9741 ID caller said Aetna. IT IS A SCAM. It is a computerized or robotic call. They try to get you to say YES or NO that your are the person. They give a pin number they want you to type in, when you call back. They have called several times; very annoying. It is a machine talking to a machine (my answering machine). When you call that number back you get the exact same message that was recorded on the answering machine. If it is Aetna....it is a marketing campaign.
- Caller: Aetna

- FredI have had the same call twice now, 866-877-9741, from a computer voice " Aetna Medicare" asking me to enter a 7 pin number for an "Urgent Message". I agree with you all that this must be a scam. I also question how they got my cell number???

- Tom| 1 replyGot a call from this number today requesting that I re-contact using a 7 digit pin. I then called Aetna via a different number and a very pleasant rep was able to verify ( while I spent considerable time on hold) that it was in fact a legit call from Aetna requesting that I take part in a survey regarding recent medical services that I had undergone. Annoying but appears to be legit.
