- Sick & Tired replies to MaryI think you're correct Mary. They just called our comapny and asked for an employee. The ladt said she was colling from UCV. I think they are trying to collect money. The number also only showed up as 419 on my called ID. She gave me the call back number of 866-893-7493
- Kars| 2 repliesAs people said above, looks like it is from a medical debt collection agency & when I called them back they gave some data related to my unpaid medical bill. I've also got the call from number 419. It is good to call this guys back as they mentioned that failing which would affect the credit history. Hope this helps.

- JulieIncessant phone calls to consumers, often about accounts that weren't theirs.
Repeated autocalls to wrong numbers.
Illegal disclosures to other people that a consumer owes money.
Those are just some of the allegations in the FTC's recent settlement with West Asset Management, a debt collection company that employs more than 1,500 collectors in 13 states and one offshore location. According to the FTC's lawsuit filed in federal court in Atlanta, the company violated the FTC Act and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) through those illegal tactics — and more.

- Julie replies to Kars| 1 replyFYI - Any medical bills DOES unpaid does not affect your credit score!! I'm trained in under writing with loans..... They never look at medical bills!
- KatieI'm pretty sure it's a scam. The lady was very blunt , caller id was"not provided", and in taking a message she gave me some PIN number that made it seem important even thou we had no idea what UCV was.( I don't know what # she called from but this was the call back number)
- lee39 replies to JulieI pulled my credit report and saw that I had two "Potentially Negative" claims which caused my credit score to drop by 60 points. When I called United Collection Bureau based in Toledo (area code 419) they were very nice and resolved my problem. Yes, it does affect your credit score. They were great to work with, but then they never called me nor sent letters. They had the wrong address!

- MelGot a call from these folks and called them right back. I'm not the person they were looking for and said they'd take my number out of their system. I get phone calls all the time from collection agencies looking for different people that I do not know. Everything from student loans to medical bills to wanting to publish my poetry. I'm not a poet. I've had my phone number for several years but that doesn't mean someone didn't have it before me and made these debts. My number is the last one these companies had so that's why I get the calls. I have no debt. I simply call them back and have had no problems getting calls stopped. But if you owe you know why you're getting the calls. And I do not give them any of my personal info other then my cell number that they called.

- M"UCV" just called my husband and asked for his DOB and social security number. The supposed employee refused to tell my husband WHY they were calling, but demanded he give her his social security number. Hell no. We know, for a fact, that we don't have anything what's so ever, in collections. We are closing on a house in a few days and have been in constant contact with our banker and financial manager. Neither of which see anything outstanding, let alone the fact neither of us have been hospitalized in 10+ years. Besides, if this was real, the hospital would have his soc and DOB on file for billing. This is a SCAM!!!

This call is from a debt collector, and is an attempt to collect a debt, any information obtained will be used for that purpose. Please call 888-563-2236. Thank you, buh bye." Very monotonous, like she was reading a script! Why would I call back a number different from the one you called me from? Nope! Plus, I have no debt in collections! Thanks, no thanks Kelly!
