This is a $1000 dollar shopping spree. Yeah right they couldn't tell me anything about the company but they wanted my bank information and all I had to do was pay a 1.99 shipping cost for the package. Then he said let me switch you to the confirmation line and talk to the floor manager. It was the same guy with a bad middle eastern accent. I didn't go thru with it because it seemed kind of suspected.

I just received a call from this number, well actually the number read "1122" and  told that "I had been randomly selected to win a free digital camara and a free vacation voucher to over 20 destinations."  The voice behind the phone said her name was Alicia Fenn employee number 12201 and I also spoke with her manager Anthony.  They were going to send my free items within the next 7 to 10 business days and all I would have to do is pay a shipping and handling fee of $1.95.  At first the manager, Anthony, told me that I could review my items first, which would be sent via UPS, and then mail only check to Apex.  His story shortly changed right before I was sent to the "verification portion!"  There,he said "I would just have to give the name of my bank and my account number!"  I told him to randomly select another number.  The reason I received the 800 number was because they were so persistent that they were a credible company, but would not give me a mailing address.  Just a heads up DO NOT GIVE YOUR ACCOUNT INFO!!!

My daughter has been receiving calls from 800-888-7890.  Fortunately, because she doesn't recognize the number, she has not been answering the calls.

Make sure you register your phone number on the Do Not Call List.  Then if the calls continue after 31 days, file a complaint with the FTC.  You can google 'do not call list' and find all of the necessary links.

Maybe if enough of us file complaints, the FTC will do something.

unfortunetly the ftc cant do anything with the # or company because they are bogus.Ive contacted the BBB and FTC and I have a complaint ref. # they gave me.They said unfortunetly they cannot trace their location because the #'s are from a prepaid card/phone or cell and would have multiple "dummy lines" running from them. They said chances are they are an international scam. They also said they pull your info from other sales companies you would have had info & or services with at sometime. If you dont give your banking location and info to them they cannot steal your money, just bug you by calling. So beware

Just had the same experience except i won a digital camera and trip. For 1.99 i could have this sent to my home. They asked for the check number i would be sending and when i told them i don't have the checkbook with me they were willing to give me a 'universal' check #1111. Then he asked for my banking establishment all the while using that fake accent that he would forget to use.

Well...same thing as below...however, now they are offering a free digital Camera and an "exotic" vacation to Orlando (or 10 other locations to choose from).   I would not give my banking information over the phone, and with his middle eastern accent, he kept trying to say it wasnt banking information he was looking for.   Well...asking for my account info., is my banking information...he couldn't seem to understand.  Anything that sounds too good to be true, always is just that...and a scam these days.

I was over at my mom's house tonight and got a call from this number.  Ironically enough, they had called last night, but my mom just told them she wasn't interested.  After a lengthy conversation of the telemarketer trying to convince her to give out her information, my mom said, "I'm not interested," and hung up.  I answered the phone tonight and got some lady who didn't even know her own name.  She told me at first it was Annie but later stuttered over it like she had to remember.  (Are there many people with thick accents named Annie??)  I asked her for her telephone number so I could verify the company and she got irate.  She told me that she'd give me the number after I gave her my information.  So I told her I wouldn't give out any information until I got a phone number.  After trying multiple times to manipulate me into giving out my information, she gave me her ID number: 018405 (in case anyone's interested).  Apparently she thought that would get me to stop asking for the number...it didn't.  Finally, she gave me the 1-866-901-8966 number and I told her I would have to call back because I was busy.  That really set her off!  She told me that she isn't some horrible sales person trying to steal information from her "customers".  When I told her for a second time that I was busy and would have to call back, she threw a fit and said, "That's not my problem!" and some other gibberish that I couldn't understand and hung up on me.

To answer your question of how this bogus company got your address and other info all you have to do is GOOGLE your phone number. Your name address even a map to your house will show up. Try it for yourself. Just put in your 10 digit phone number into the search block and presto, there you are. Now request GOOGLE to remove you from thier data base.
