They called my home phone number which is unlisted and ask for Noelle Ryan which was my married name.  I never gave out my home phone to anyone, I only use my cell phone.  when I ask them who gave them this number they told Katherine Smith used it as a reference.  I dont even know a Katherine Smith.  I call them back on my cell phone to inquire what kind of business they do and they would not tell me because they said they didnt know who I was.

Actually a very abusive phone call from Regional Adjustment Bureau regarding an old Citibank Educational Loan. When I said, "I'm sorry, I don't have a job right now and I have no money, and I don't have time to talk right now," the guy on the other end replied, "Well, if you don't have a job, what are you in such a hurry for?"

At another point in the call, as I attempted to extricate myself, he said:

"Well, you're down in our system for refusal to pay right now. Don't you want to change that? Can your parents help you out?"

I replied, "A) It's not refusal to pay, it's inability; and B) my parents passed away, unfortunately."

To which he incredulously replied, "So your parents DIED and didn't leave you ANYTHING to take care of your debts? Come on."

At which point I told him where he could go and hung up on him.

This Company called me 4 times in 2 hours just today and left 1 message saying they were a debt collector. I called back and they said that they were trying to collect a student loan debt from CitiBank. I asked them to tell me the balance due and also send me a statement since I had been making payments on this loan to another party and would like to see where I stand. Also I have yet to receive a statement of account even while making payments for 2 years and repeated requests for one.Apparently my account was sold or something. They refused to tell me the balance and said that they could not send me a statement. Doesn't make any sense. And they were very rude maybe it is a scam or something.

Called my cell phone over several days & several time in two hours today (while I was at work).  I don't answer numbers that I do not recognize.  They have not left any messages.  Looks like many of the reports involve a CitiBank student loan.  I am ex-military & have never banked at Citibank or had a student loan.  Smells like a scam to me!

    Where's Brittany?
this number called our home phone. They asked for a Brittany Reynolds. When I told them he had the wrong number, he then asked if my husband was related to her. I again told him he had the wrong number; we don't know any Brittany Reynolds. I asked who he was and what company he was calling from. He would not tell me. I then hung up. My husband called them back and they would not identify themselves. I only located the name by doing the reverse number search on the internet.

Beneficiary money and what you choose to do with it is none of that clown's business, of course. That remark amounts to illegal bullying. However, "inability to pay" is not a defense. "Refusal to pay" in writing invokes a total cease-comm, which can get you sued. Agency reps like using that phrase as a weapon, used as part of a campaign of false shame.

You will keep getting these foolish calls until you dispute claim and restrict contact on paper, sent USPS Certified with return card. Don't miss your thirty day window for demanding validation, which begins upon receipt of a dunning letter.

This organization is filled with rude employees that would never collect a dime from me for anything, not even if I won the lotto. Any company that uses this debt collection agency needs to re-assess their business needs.

these rude people call me constantly in re: to my boyfriend's student loans. when i picked up once, the man on the phone wouldn't give me any information, tell me it was a personal call and he needed to talk to my boyfriend. he was snippy with me so i was snippy back. he then started asking me where my boyfriend worked. i wouldn't tell him since that it is personal information and he wasn't telling me what the call was in reference to. he finally just gave me his name and a number for my boyfriend to call back. we knew what he wanted but he was so rude. he also gave my boyfriend the whole "so you're refusing to pay?" situation, which isn't the case. we know the laws and we don't have enough money right now to pay the loans. these people are completely rude. they call constantly and never leave a message. they've even called my mother in another state, who my boyfriend has never used as a reference on anything. absolutely ridiculous. the one time they left a message on my phone, it was him constantly saying, "if you are not so and so, stop listening to this message, this is personal information". don't call my number then.

My student loans were discharged by the department of education due to permanent disability. As soon as this happened, I started getting contact by phone and in writing regarding my Citibank student loan. I replied in writing that I do not owe this debt, as the department of education relieved me of the debt. I also told them that if there was in fact a reason why I would still owe this I would only discuss it with the department of education directly. I told them to never contact me again. Total waste of time. They call me several times a day. Luckily my old home number is now attached to a fax. I have no way to answer in, nor would I anyway. I can see it come up on my TV every time they call. They are wasting there time.

There is no way they can sue since my debt was legally discharged so I guess they think I am too stupid to realize I don't owe and take their threats seriously

ii've received two calls from this number today, alone.  no messages were left, so i have no idea what they want.  since, i'm seeing a  lot of citibank student loan issues here, i'm going to assume this a scam.  i've never banked with citibank, nor have i had a student loan.

    David
I received a call from this guy name David Lewis, from Regional Adjustment Bureau. He mentioned my name and asked if I was that person, I said yes and then he asked if i was born on a certain date and i said no but the date matched my son's birthday and we both have the same name. He asked if I new this other David and i said he was my son. He asked for his phone number and said he was trying to workout a pay plan as my son owed 12K. I asked him to get my son's phone number the same way he obtained mine and he said it was too difficult as there are too many people with the same name. I did not give him my son's number and offered to call back, or to have my son call back the next day (today). I talked to  y son in NY and he said the person is just BS as he has a student loan but has beeen working on a payment plan with another, reputable, org. These people at Regional Adjustment Bureau are just scammers.

The necessity of my operative phrase "USPS Certified with return card" is apparently lost on you. You're letting damage award money slip away each time you watch the collectors' Caller ID entries blink on to your screen. Put the third party vultures on proper cease-comm notice and they have only two options: Shut up and go away quietly or pay you for your trouble in court.
