Guy said his name is Joe Russo and he was with Better Business Bureau.

Left his number.  Seemed sneaky to me.

I just got one too.  I agree something does not seem koisher.

I got one from Howard K. Saying he was from the BBB. He left a message to call 866-907-1001 x118If anyone talks to these people Please post results here.

I received a voice mail message at work.  Please call Lewis Dean at the BBC(maybe he said BBB, I thought he said BBC) my phone number is 866-907-1001 ext. 111  I got suspicious when I saw the "866" I've been receiving hoax phone calls on my cell from Canada with the "866".

07/30/07 3:23pm CST I Got a call from this number from a lady who said her name was "Sabrina York" with the Better Business Bureau. I called them and left no messages...after the 3rd call I got through to Sabrina and she was soliciting member ship for the BBB. Thanks for giving me a heart attack lol!

8/29/07 got a call from lewis dean w/BBB oklahoma city to please call him back.  sounded suspicious, i didn't call back.

Funny thing about this company. I reported them to the OKC BBB and of course if they are the same company then I wasted my time.

No kidding! Howard K. called me this morning and it's been bothering me all day what it could be about. I tried calling the number back but got a message center. I'm on the do not call list...doesn't this apply to them?

got a call from 1-866-907-1001 10/12/07 I called back and got the ladys voice mail I didn't leave a message. But from reading the info here is sounds like the are soliciting some kind of membership. So I won't be calling back  Thanks guys!

Got a call in our business answering machine this morning. It was a female.

I left a message to say if this was solicitation, please do not call us.
Otherwise my phone number is xxx-xxx-xxxx returning your call.
I haven't heard from her. I think it's solicitation.

I am more the confident that anytime someone calls you from 8669071001 it is a representative supporting your local BBB. And yes my name is Louis Dean my number is 8669071001 ext 111. We do appreciate anyones concern when they do receive phone solicitation but the quick answer to resolving the issue is to contact your local BBB.

I recieved a call from a man representing the bbb and i am extreemly happy that i did. B4 a monay transaction was made I was givin a number to the local bbb in missouri to confirm that he was a representative. I am now an accredited company. NO WORRIES! THEY ARE LEGIT.

Rcvd a call from them this am.  BBB or not, their tactics are slimy.  Refused to s/w me,the office mgr, only owner & left a cryptic message that this was in reference to "reporting language".  Reporting language my foot - if the BBB resorts to the tactics of other dishonest telemarketers [scare the guy into calling us so we can sell him something] then accreditation does not carry the value it used to.

Yes, dude called and said that he was with the Better Business Bureau.  He was looking for a fella who used to live in our house years ago.  He owns his own construction company - building houses.  Lawyers have been looking for this same man for about 2 years now.  He's avoiding them.  So I can only suspect that people are filing complaints with the BBB.

My receptionist left a message for me from someone claiming to be from the Better Business Bureau.  He refused to respond to her when she asked, "What is this in reference to?"  He would only say his name, David Gross, and he could be reached at 866-907-1001 extension 113.  This is not an honest approach from an organization we rely upon to keep others honest.  I don't really care if the call was legit.  He should have been more open with my receptionist, rather than acting as though there was a problem with my business.

if the bbb is informing anyone of any complaints it would be in wirting.

I also received a call from a women at (866)907-1001 ext. 101, who eluded my questions as to what the call was in reference to. When I asked her if something was amiss she said - and I quote, "I'm not sure."

It's not only rude and unnecessary, but sadly ironic that a company we rely on to monitor business conduct would resort to such devious tactics.  
We are currently a member of the BBB and we would have renewed our membership right away had Ext. 101 simply stated her purpose.
