harasses and threatens to issue warrant for my arrest if i dont call back.

This number calls for my ex-boyfriend who is incarcerated. They told me that they got my number from my local Sheriff's office which is bogus. They want me to fax my driver's license and power of attorney over to them. Renee Benett says she is Christina Hall's supervisor they leave threatening messages. I call back only to receive a voicemail and then Mr. Williams says that he owns the company and that I need to stop having an attitude and that if I do not settle this debt today that they will pursue the civil and criminal charges that they have pending against my ex. The company that they "say" they are collecting for said that they do not have anyone trying to pursue any charges.
THIS IS A SCAM!!!!! DO NOT PAY THESE PEOPLE!!!! DO REPORT IMMEDIATELY TO YOUR LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT!!!!!

Got the same call - threatening to file charges against me for check fraud in Queens County.  I have no idea what this is about and have no intention of calling them back.  At the end of the message they did say you have been notified.  Notified about what?  They are scamers - Legal debt collectors give you the name of the company they are calling for - not just to call them back or be served papers.  Don't answer the phone - the issue can start all over again as if it's the first time.  Beware this is an illegal tatic to get money even if you don't owe any.

This is a debt collector.  They are very rude.  Do not take their BS.  They are willing to settle with you.  Shoot low.  They wanted $675 from me, they settled in full for $275.

I got a call from this number and i actually spoke to 5 people the first caller stated they were having I and my spouse arrested for check fraud. she asked if I remember taking out a payday loan and the check did not clear. so she gave me this case# and stated it was in the process of being sent to the sheriffs office and they arrest me. I hung up and then and a another lady called and stated we both had checks there and gave me settlement so I stated to her I was unemployed and she stated can some help you out because I am trying to help you so you don't to prison. I stated to her I will call her back and the next day Mr. Williams called and stated he owned this firm and had alot of information about the loan and stated he will have to sobpena all the names I wrote for references and it will be a big mess. i stated to him I will do everything I can to pay the amount of 1090.00. I hunr up and then another person called stated he was in the check and fraud division and that he was in the process of sending it out so a warrent will be issued for me. he stated if you send 200.00 today i can put a stop on this until you can pay the rest. I stated I just can't get the money he stated to call him the next day. I called and MR.Williams answered and gave me a settlement offer and if I can set up a day I can pay this then he will work with me. I don't know what to do because I am unemployed and no help from any one. so I am sitttng here and wondering how long before the warrent is processed. Oh they never stated where they were calling from I was on the internet trying find out where the number was from and ran across this so that's why am writing this comment.

Don't send them a dime.  It's a scam.  I got a call similar to this one a few months back, saying I owed the payday loan and I was behind.  They told me I owed $500, but they would settle for $200 if I would go get a Green Dot money card and give them the number so they could collect the $200.  I went and got the Green Dot money card, but something kept telling me to call all the creditors that I owed because this gy named 2 or 3 different companies during our conversation.  He even had the audacity to yell at me, I told him he better chill because I am a grown personand my mom and dad were the only ones who could talk to me that way.  He calmed down and after I called the creditors I did owed told me I didn't owe them anything, I proceeded to cancel the Green Dot card payment.  They still continue to call and text me that I can get money from these vultures  If they can't give you a company name that you can check on under the BBB don't do o anything, don't agree to any arrangements.  I was told to tell them that they are being investigated by the Feds and are being recorded as we speak.  They will hang up.  Nine times out of ten they wil stop calling.  I don't believe they are even in this country, that is why they do these calls, they know that they can't be traced..

Got a call today from these SOBs and they r threating to take me to court said i had three fraud charges which are felonies. Also call my moms phone left a message saying i had a check fraud charge. Im tired of these ppl calling harassing and threating me. they even wanted my debit card info to which i refused. they need to get a damn life cuz it will be a cold day in hell before i give them a [***] dime

If you did not take out loans and refuse to pay them back.. maybe you wouldnt be receiving calls. You debtors are the ones who are a scam!!!!

Today I filed a complaint online with the Federal Consumer Protection Bureau. They have a new process where a copy of the consumer's complaint is forwarded to the debt collection agency and they expect an answer back. That puts the Federal government into their business. Also they will foward as necessary copies of the complaint to other federal agencies to investgate illegal collection practices, such as pretending to be lawyers or process servers, threatening lawsuits, arrests, jail time etc. I strongly urge anyone receiving threatening phone calls from this company to file a complaint online at: http://www.consumerfinance.gov/complaint/
