- Karen| 1 replyThis person called several times on the same day. She stated in her message that "Tax Info" was needed. She never said who she was with. If a legitimate government office calls, they always identify which agency they are calling on behalf. Do not give any personal information and ask for agency (ie Department of Revenue) and their and their supervisior's name. Call that agency and verify employee actually works for that agency before giving ANY information.

- Jim replies to KarenCorrect. Got the exact same phone call. Tax offices always identify themselves. Ignore if you receive one of these calls.
- MargaretWe received a call from this # saying that additional tax credits had become available to business in our city. When you call the #, it dumps you directly into a prompt for the extension. There is nothing to identify the business/agency that you are calling.
- John V.| 1 replycalled, wanted to tell me i was eligible for money for my business. Did I qualify by paying so much in property taxes, how long in business, who paid the taxes, did I pay annual federal taxes. I didn't disclose amounts paid, but that I was responsible and did pay my taxes. "Oh good, you qualify. Mr. Ron Luongo would like to talk to you regarding your opportunities." When questioned who was calling and a number it was GMGSavings.com, phone 866-018-6520 ext 8514. I didn't have time nor did I want to continue the conversation. Bottom line "THERE are NO FREE LUNCHES, even from the government." There are ALWAYS strings attached and I don't like strings. Besides--it's my money that I'm going to be getting back--since I pay my taxes for the jack [***] in DC to waste.

- Badge714 replies to John V.I can assure you Mr. V. you were NOT called by someone in Washington. Unless they opened a new office in Asia. The 'Government Grant' scam is well documented on 800 notes. You are correct, you are getting nothing. This is a very simple advance fee scam. You will be promised money, but to get it you must first pay a 'fee'. Be it a loan, gift, prize, lottery, Grant, etc. Never spend money to get money. If you hear the words 'Wire transfer' (Western Union, MoneyGram, MoneyPak, etc.) then you know it's a scam.
- VickyNCalled me at my place of business......I either wasn't there, on the phone already, or my staff knew I didn't want to speak with an obvious scammer....She said her name was Lynn Sherman from Groupus??? and wanted to let me know of some money our business was eligible for from the government. HA! I couldn't quite get the name of the company so I listened about three times....866.918.6520 extension 8511 and asked for a call back. Okay, no harm in calling and finding out who this company might be. used *67 before dialing to block my number...THEY DO NOT IDENTIFY THEMSELVES WHEN YOU CALL BACK.
- ToniMWe have received numerous calls from this number; thanks for all the posts advising that it is indeed a scam.
- JHIOur business has also received the same call, identifying herself as Donna, from Jack Sutton's office in Washington D.C. Phone number is 866-918-6520x8514. Do not provide any information!
- NJBGot a call from "Donna of Nick Munds office" said that there were tax credits available. I asked her to give me her company name and phone number again as I would have my CPA contact her since they handle our tax issues for the company. She got snippy and said "so you aren't interested in saving money with these new tax credits"? and I said no, not with you. That's what we pay our CPA's to do and asked her politely to remove us from her calling list as we were not interested and she got louder and said "I think you have us mixed up with a telemarketer, and I'm not trying to sell you something" to which I said really? Then she hung up on me.
A total scam if I ever heard one.- Caller: Office of Nick Munds
- IanThis is a company called Growth Management Group. GMGSavings.com. They are calling to get clients to utilize R&D and Cost Segregation tax benefits utilizing their company.

- GateKeeperCalled asking for the controller. When I pressed for a name, she gave me the name of the INVENTOR of our proprietary products, one that is readily available online, but not a person who actually works here.
I gave her an email address (our junk box) and she asked who to address it to. Sneaky :)
I told her if she was looking for the controller, that's who she should address it to.
Obviously, there will never be an email, it was just a way to get a name and bypass me, the gatekeeper.- Call type: Telemarketer
- SuePI'm so happy this site exists. My office got a call from Donna at Ext 8514 from the Office of Carol Devino. Something about verifying property tax information. When I gave the message to my boss he said he'd never heard of Carol Devino's office. Had he called back he's easily duped. I just took the message as I do not know who my boss uses for office business, however usually his contacts call his phone directly, not the office. but once I googled and saw this the message was tossed. And yes when you call it back there is no company identifier. Just a prompt for an extension.

- adminJust got a call from this number. Donna claimed to be from "Bill Soren's" office. Something about tax credits. Smells fishy to me.

- Gate KeeperTold me her name was Thersea from Grove Mgmt. Wanted to tell my boss about federal refunds for the business and expense related items. I asked her to email me something and she said she couldn't because it was over a 200 page document. I asked her if this was a sales call because I know she called from an "800" number and her response was, " not all 800 numbers are sales calls". Ha, LOL.

- Gate Keeper 2She told me she was Theresa from Growth Management. Wanted to speak to my boss. I asked her what this was about and she asked me if he owns the building we are located in. I told her I wasn't going to give her that information because I saw she called from and "800 service" number and told her to email me something instead. She said she couldn't because it was a very large document. She gave me a hassle about assuming it was a sales call just because it was a 800 number.

- Amy AReceived a call from 1-866-918-6520 ext 8514... named Donna... Blah, blah, blah, tax credits, federal refunds, blah, blah, blah..... Then I informed her I was not interested. She laughed said she would just talk to the owner, I said I am the owner... she laughs and says "yeah right". Then proceeds to call me back and tell my assistant and myself two separate times "ill see you soon". That's obviously her way of trying to scare us. I repeatedly called her extension and there is no voicemail or name of company. Just tells you to leave a message. SCAM... AND RUDE ON TOP OF EVERYHTING ELSE.
