Does anyone know what company this is?

This company is a collections agency. the mand that left me a message said his name was officer william turner. they called me and said if i didn't pay my debt in full they were going to contact the sheriffs dept in my home town and have a warrant issued.  i got a loan and stopped doing payments so the loan place turned it over to the an agency

Not sure but I think the name is "Eastern Asset Management" - what it sounded like on my voicemail.

I hung up on a guy who called from this number because first he refused to identify himself, and then he threatened me with a lawsuit within seconds of starting the conversation. Later he called back and left his number on my voicemail. I have only three small debts which have gotten behind due to slow work for a couple of months, but nothing that would require a lawsuit to be filed other than in small claims court, so I'm not exactly quaking with fear.

I thought it was really rude to menace someone with the word "lawsuit" during a first contact, as the couple of bills I owe are not that far past due (weeks, not months or years) and he could have easily started the conversation off with a request for payment. But collection people are ALWAYS horrid and rude and obnoxious. ALWAYS. I've been through this once with past-due payments on a student loan and once with a past-due credit card, and I've actually ended up screaming at people.

This time, being a little older and wiser, I plan to laugh my way through it. The income has picked up somewhat, and I know if I offer payment, which I plan on doing, there is nothing to fear from a possible lawsuit. So Mr. [***] from the collection agency can threaten all he likes.

Here's a followup: call number two with the same rude person. I find out these people are trying to extort a $191 payment from me on a credit card I paid off in full two years ago. I told the guy to send me something in writing, he went "threaten threaten threaten" again, I hung up again.  Let them sue. I have the records to back me up.

yes i got a message from them saying they had my name and i owed money to a credit card that im not sure about from years ago. they said i had 48hr or its going to my civil court house. they said that im still going to be charged with finance charges and late fees they naver gave me there name or anything in writing.

THIS IS A SCAM!!!! These people are trying to collect paid debts by threatening lawsuits! They tried to collect a debt that I paid back in 2002. Google the phone # 716-282-3301 for more info on this scammer.

I recieved two phone calls from these people..and I paid. Twice. asked for documentation on them both. Didn't recieve them.
The number is 866-926-4454. I was told twice that that the debt was paid off. And now I was threatened for a law suite. I told them to email me the trascripts of both times I talked to them and I would call back.

Thanks everyone for confirming that it is a collector. Scam. Yes I did have a card, wanted to make due but I could tell they were reading from a card. If it isn't let them try to get money from me. I am unemplyed right now. And would like to keep what car I do have.

Called my husbands ex-wife asking for me threating her.  I don't even know the ex so WTF?  Called told them to contact me by certified mail - they said they don't do that and I told her - that oh well then I guess I don't owe you anything.  Ms. Clark and Ms. Brown from Eastern Asset Management on behalf of attorney John Nickalea - whatever you people are nothing and are going down for illegal debt collection procedures.  They actually admitted to calling people with my same last name just to try and find me.  And then threatened a lawsuit because they can't send me something in writing.

I got 2 phone calls from these ppl. They said that they are going to send someone out to my house and hand me papers because I am going to be sued. They are scammers...oh and a day before they called I got a weird phone call asking if I had caller id..

It is against the law to impersonate a law enforcement official and I would recommend you hire an attorney and seek retribution against Eastern Asset Managment.

The best thing to do is to ignore their calls, they will eventually stop and move onto harassing someone else.  It is a collection agency that has purchased bad debt from an organization.  They have no recourse on you.  You did not sign an agreement or anything with this collection agency, they cannot do a thing to you.  These agencies buy debt from an organization at a discounted rate, the agency will only make their money back if you pay them.  The agency has nothing to lose by harassing you, threatening you, if it will scare you into paying them money, they win, you lose!

I had leased a car about 8 years ago and when I turned the car in after the lease was up, I owed about $1600.00 for going over my mileage.  I set a payment plan with the lease company, I made one payment and never heard from them again, never received another statement (I forgot about it).  About 2 years later I received a call from a woman claiming I had an outstanding dept, I told her to send me something in the mail regarding this...never heard from her again.  Another year later someone else called asking for my checking account information to pay a debt I had no idea what the debt was for.....I asked for something to be mailed to me!  I have never heard from them again.  I am sure whoever owns that debt will sell it to someone else and they will rear their ugly heads again.  This is why we have caller ID!!!!

BEING HARASSED BUY THIS COMPANY FOR AN UNSPECIFIED DEBT. THEY ARE A BUNCH OF LIARS. STATUE OF LIMITATIONS IS UP FOR COLLECTING THIS DEBT.

RECEIVED A VOICEMAIL ON MY WORK PHONE FROM THIS # BUT DIDN'T EXPLAIN WHAT IT WAS FOR BUT THEY DID SAY THAT I WOULD BE SUED IF I DIDN'T CONTACT THEM IMMEDIATELY.

Mr. William from EAM has been calling and wanting to collect money from a supposeably creditor. He say that if we do not come into agreement that my case will be a civil matter. I was not in at the time he called, I called back and a lady answer and told her I needed to speak to him. She said he was in a conference and that he had left all my info. with her. After I told her that my identity had been stolen she just hung up on me.
But before all this I research the number on line and to my surprise the same number that was given to me was from this company and are scammers!!!!

My mom received a call from these people in regards to a supposed debt of my wifes.  The callers name is Christine.  She claims that the matter is being turned over to a lawyer and taken up in a Civil Court in my mothers County in Florida.  We don't even live in Florida.  They've been calling for months harassing my mother about my wife.

Got a call claiming to be from Attorney Jan Akoya (sp?), threatened to turn over for litigation if I didn't call today, and gave me an affadavit number.  I assume this is a collection agency of some kind, may have received calls from them before but don't recall that they claimed to represent an attorney before.  I have never heard of an "affadavit number", what does this mean?

I got a call on my cell phone from a 716 area code, and the man left a very rude and obnoxious voicemail telling me that he is an attorney sueing me in a civil matter - the message stated he was going to take legal actions against me and laughed on the message as he said "good luck" the number that showed up on my caller ID was 716-282-3301 but he left a call back number as 866-926-4454 x24. I am worried and not sure if i should call him back

This company is calling my 86 year old grandmother and leaving her messages stating that if I do not handle this matter within 24 hours I will be arrested. I would like these phone calls to stop since I have not lived there in over 7 Years

Called my mothers house stating they are a lawyer and i need to handle this matter, or further legal action will be taken
