Keeps calling my cell phone, and gives no info as to who they are

Best thing to do is asnwer speaking pure madrian chineese, not a word of english. The person on the other end was like "I think this is a wrong number" I stopped getting calls.

Got the call at 8:29 this morning..this is my BRAND NEW cell phone..only had it for 2 days now..hope my cell number is not a recycled one..uggg!!!

I think it is NCO Financial saying they are capital one!

Says it is Captial One, wants your account number or social security number.

They Called me 12 times yesterday. I filed a report with the FTC for phone harassment. It is Capital One trying to collect a debt. I answered two of the calls. Told them to send info in writing, and not to call me.

The law they violated is the FDCPA

Causing a telephone to ring or engaging any person
in telephone conversation repeatedly or continuously
with intent to annoy, abuse, or harass any person at
the called number

Left message: "Hi this is Linda. We have some opportunities that can be available to you at Captial One. Please call me back today at blahblahblah."

I think it is Capital One....they sent a out a letter last month saying they were going to raise their interest rates to 28%, and if you didn't accept those terms to call a number and say you didn't, they in turn will close the account on May 17, 2009.  Since I am not behind in my payments or anything like that I can only assume that is what it is about.  I am never home when they call but my caller ID has about 10 calls from them...so if you didn't accept their terms and called their number saying so, I guess they are calling to change your mind?   Who knows, if I have paid my bill I'm not worried about it..it's their dime  :-)

Capital One called at 8:28 am this morning.

No phone message, but their caller id was on my wireless phone.

how do they get away with "unknown caller" on caller id?

Yes I was laid off of work and I am getting calls 7 days a week just got a call sunday 7:30 pm you tell them what is going on  you have not received unemployement yet and they call anyway no matter how many times you try to explain the companyy you worked for just shut it's doors no money! They do not care.... how sad! Once I get employed I can not wait to pay these companies off. I hope everyone can do this and not get credit so they have to shut down!!!

They are calling my cell phone. If it's Captial One, or someone calling on their behalf, they have no legitimate reason to call me or anyone in my immediate family since we have no accounts at all with Capital One. Someone from Captial One has called our home phone several times wanting to get hold of my brother-in-law for some debt he has with them. We've told them we can't help (they have his number and are already harassing him!) and not to call us anymore. What do they think they will accomplish by this? How can we put a stop to it? We pay by the minute, and quite a lot, for our cell phone time, and if I answer before I look, I end up paying for their harassment! After this experience, and reading other posts, I will NEVER be a customer of Capital One.

Amen.I get those same annoying messages on my cell phone.Capitol One is being such a pain.Cancelled my account and sent it collections without notifying me.

If they are indeed violating a law, we should file a class action lawsuit against them. Maybe one has already been filed? I'd love to make an example to other creditors about them.
