Called to see who it was and all the man provided me with was his name "Mr. Murphy"

prerecorded call said trying to reach some person, but never identified the company.  Recording indicated that I should press 1 if I was that person, 2 if I could take msg for said person, 4 if I needed to speak to rep instead.  I pressed 4 but ended up w/same recording, so I pressed 4 again, with same results. I was even trying to press 0 or 00 just to break thru the recording - but no luck... Finally after it NEVER got me a rep the recording said that since I had stayed on the line I "was" that person! What???

Message on answering machine for someone with same last name - but I have no idea who they are.  (Same recording - press 1 if you are this person, hang up if you are not...)  I called their number to find out who they were, was told name was Professional Recovery.  I have no past due debts, and ask them to remove my number.  We'll see...

Leave a message stating that if I am so and so to listen, and if I am not so and so to hang up.  They say this is related to a debt collection.

Got a call asking for the person who owned the phone number before me. Said to call this number if I weren't John Doe & wanted to be removed from the list.  I called and got a recording saying to hang on and I'd be connected with a rep.  Was fairly quickly disconnected without connection to anyone.

I received a call asking to speak to my daughter that passed away in June.  Why now almost 5 months later is someone asking to speak to her and collect a debt?  I called the number back and was disconnected when it said they'd connect me to a rep.  So I called back the number on the caller ID screen and actually talked to someone.  They wouldn't tell me anything except "I'll take care of it."  I asked if I needed to send a death certificate or something to prove it and asked if my name was on the debt.  He kept saying "No, he'd take care of it" and that he would take my word for it that she had actually died.

Always asks for Carole D Willis, when I answer its a recording after recording. I am seriously tired of this. I am a Cancer patient. I have medical bills, and they all know I've had to file for disability and arenot harrasing me. I am getting no where with these creeps. But, as soon as I finish this e-mail, I will be turning the number over to our Commonwealth Attorney.
