- BC Ben replies to nYep got a telemarketer call offering low interest rate as low as 2.5% pretty hard to believe. Said his name was Allan Jones. Said he was calling on behalf of MCS Programs.
What lead me to believe this caller was a scam artist was that he wanted information that was on the card like the expiry date and the number on the card. I told him no bank officer or loan officer would ask that information over the phone because the person could make unauthorized purhcases over the phone and internet. He kept pressuring me finally I told him to put the information in the mail. - JJI got the same call today. They ask for last 8 digit of your credit card number and you date of birth. They say they will offer a lower interest rate for your credit card for the rest of your life.

- TK| 7 repliesI got Mathew Wilson calling me today.
- Caller: MCS
- Marc replies to janReceived the same call. He asked about my credit card exp date fist. I never gave this info. I told them I will call back. They gave me this number. The agent was Shawn Johnson ext 251. Made my little research and found this video on the web : http://www.kirotv.com/money/18910460/detail.html
- DO replies to TK| 6 repliesMy call was from a Ryan King from M?(N)CS @ 1-866-945-1131 ext 254 Sounded like he was pakistan or india. giving a supposed local number of 1-514-908-9713. He knew the beginning numbers on my master card, knew my address. Asked for the number on the back of the card also the 1800 number listed on back of the card, the expiry date, if I had any car loans ect. and aprox amount owed on the credit card. He even knew my age?
Then asked to confirm the numbers on the front of my card asking if it started with 51...asking for the rest of the numbers on the front of the card. I hung up the phone, that's when my father dropped by and I told him if anyone calls with a strange accent I'm gone out..
The person called back... again saying that I can't be gone out he only just spoke with me? My father hung up. I've been getting automated calls saying I'm paying to much interest on my credit card. After hanging up on them a few times, and in the automated message there's an option
to have me removed from the calling list. The caller called me early in the morning, (I was half awake) and I actually provided some information to him about my card. The more the day went on, the more paranoid I became, I searched the internet and found this site... THANKS!!! I called my credit card company, they said he called me back again because he was so close to getting everything he needed to do god knows what with my personal info... They suspended my account immediately, gave me a list of recent transactions, which were correct. Said do not worry, cut up my old card, its useless they are sending a new one with a new number... and to never again provide credit card info to any caller. - from TorontoReceived a call from somone with caller ID 514-408-9713. He indicated the same. That he will lower my interest rates. He just called with my last name saying i can lower my interest rates. 1st flag. When i asked what company he would just say that he is with Mutual Savings. When asked what bank he was affiliated. He said all of them. 2nd red flag.
He tried to comfort me by giving his direct call number and name. Mark Johnson 1866-945-1131 and web address https://mcsprograms.com. I went to the page while on the call.. It looks bogus. I just told him i am not confortable in giving out my info. And if he can send me some information. He said they don't send anything. 3rd red flag.
I just told him I don't give my credit information to people over the phone. I told him i don't feel comfortable and hung up.
I did more research and did see more scams and some videos regarding the company. Its funny how they are scamming using the same company name and caller id. Any way too many red flags.- Caller: Mutual Savings

- Karen replies to DO| 5 repliesHad a call this afternoon, Good Friday no less, from a "Paul Walker" with
an Indian accent. Was quite insistant that if I give him the last 12 digits of my credit card number, my interest rate would be lowered just like that! Imagine!
Told me he was with mcsprograms.com and kept harping that he needed to verify my number if I wanted this great deal during the recession and all...I told him he was mistaken if he thought he was talking to someone who was going to give her credit card number out to a complete stranger.
I was so angry! On a holiday, to be harassed in your own home by the likes of these cretins. So please be careful and Happy Easter! - Jeff replies to Karen| 4 repliesSam here today except the agent said his name was Alex Johnson (Pakistanni accent). I am glad that so many ppl responded , thank you, it was because i read your responses i called to see. - PJI got a call from a guy identifying himself as Alex Love from MCS. He offered me a lifetime 3.5% interest rate for my Visa. He claimed he worked with all banks and that everything about my card would remain the same except the new low rate. He already had my address and asked for the security code on the back of my card. When I refused to give him the information he gave me the 866-945-1131 number to call claiming only legitimate companies have these numbers and there was nothing to worry about. I said I would call back and checked the number out here and now.... I'm not calling back and reporting the scam to my bank.
