I get junk in the mail all the time telling me to call this "customer service" number that is supposed to be from America's Choice Readers, but does not match the number that is on their home page website. Is this a scam or do they just have more than one number?

If your letter is from a Karen Stephens of Subscriber Data Management with the same phone number, then I smell that it’s a scam. The address on the letter and envelope that I received is 525 North Tyron Street Suite 1600 Charlotte, NC 28202. If you google the address it comes back that HQ - Charlotte City Center is at that address.
The letter says that as part of the original service agreement with America's Choice Readers they will be extending the service for the small amount of $9.95 per month. Unless you notify them by mail, phone or email within 3 weeks that you do not wish to extend your service.
I think that they or someone is trying to validate some information.

My son just got a letter from these guys that states they will extend his service (what that is we are not sure) FOR JUST $4.95 PER MONTH.  To be taken from his credit card automatically unless he calls to cancel.

I just got the version of the letter for $9.95/mo.  Mine however has my name mispelled and was sent to an address that I have not lived at in over 3 years.  Currently all of my subscriptions come to my current address and have my correct name so I am fairly certain that these letters from this company are fake and just searching to have someone call back.

I just did a little digging on the domain subdatamgmt.com and found that it has been registered since Nov 2008 and the registrant wants to hide their information so they used a proxy service to register it for them based out of Phoenix, AZ.  Everyone must decide for themselves about this letter, but it is looking more and more like a phishing scam to me.

I got the same letter just a couple of weeks ago. Has anyone else had money taken out of their credit cards? Sounds to me like a scam. I receive my magazines direct from each magazine company, not a third party, and they're all paid.

I did not get a telephone call but I got a letter.  The letter said I could contract them at cs-info@subdatamgmt.com.. That site did not take so I am unable to cancel this offer.  I guess I will have to contract my credit card carrier and ask them to cancel.

I have dealt with these people for 8yrs. I got conned by readers choice and it cost me 500.00 and 7yrs to rid myself of them or at least I thought I did. I received the same letter for 10.00 per month, but now they just took 19.90 out of my account. So I thought I would get on line and cancel but I see we have some problems. I threatened the company with the States Attorney years ago. I see its time again!

It's me again. I just cancelled my card. It's the only way to get rid of these people. But I will contact my States Attorney about this company and I suggest everybody else to do so. With enough outcry maybe we can stop them.

Well people it looks like I was one of the lucky ones. I was getting my magazines from National Magazine Exchange for years, early 80's and this Subscriber Data Management took over their's and some other magazine subscriptions and got carried away with things and just cut corners and volunteered everyone to renew their subscriptions. I got the same letter and I had a whole year to go on all of mine. Well I called and told them I was not renewing any because I didn't have the time to read like I use to. I told her that they weren't my magazine company and she told me they took over the subscriptions renewals for several magazines. I had trouble with another outfit and had my bank stop payment, they knew what day of the each month they took out the payment and watch for it for three months in a row and that's what it took. They told me if it happen again they would through the BOOK at them! The law is on our side, legally they can't take money out with your consent.

Well, to update everyone on here. I received a letter from the same people who told me that they would extend my magazine for $19.95 a month. Thankfully, I called 800-949-3512 and the lady informed me that they would cancel it after I said that I was no longer interested in extending my contract. Now, whether or not they will do it is another story, but they were very short and succinct in handling it so I think they must be legit now. I will be sure to keep people posted on here if there is anything that happens which is not on the up and up.

I jsut recieved a letter saying that they would extend my subsciption for 14.95.  I called 1800-949-3512, and a women answered and had nothing to do with that company.  She deals with old fashion roll down blinds.  Her phone # doesn't even match the 800 # that I called.  She said I wasn't the only one who has called her about this.  I have several credit cards, and have no idea which card they might charge, or have been charging. This is rediculous, just another thing to worry about.  My husband seems to think it has something to do with AOL.  We no longer use AOL, but are still getting charged. They might have sent it out to someone else.  Who knows.  I have a feeling this is going to be a big hassel!!!!
