Multiple calls per day.  I don't bother to pick up, but it is still distracting and interrupts me while I'm trying to work at home.  Sick of it!!  I have Do-Not-Call but wonder, since these "charity," firemen and police agencies are exempt, if this is a way for the Do-Not-Call registry to make money with new registrants every day because of this harrassment.  I don't want any solicitation calls whatsover.

One firemen association had the audacity to suggest that I would still want the firemen to respond to my calls in a timely manner, didn't I?  Right. I've since not bothered picking up when I see these 800 numbers in my caller ID.

This number calls daily if not several times a day. They never leave a message and when I pick up there is no one there.

I researched this number online and it is known as the 'Blockbuster scam' so apparently whomever is calling from this number is saying you owe Blockbuster and cashing in on this. BEWARE!

Stacey---you better "research" the number again-- I believe you are incorrect. When I talked to them, they wanted money for some charity.

So apparently no matter what the reason the caller gives, it is not on the up and up...how can any one person know exactly how this number is being used and how many reasons are being used to try and get people to give money to the caller? I reported what I found online connected to this number,nothing more...sheesh!

Stacey--- I can not seem to get anything about "Blockbuster Scam" when I enter the number 866-946-9134. I must be doing something wrong. (I'm not very good at 'puter stuff) I did see your post of Feb. 12, 2009 for the number 800-605-5415 on 800notes but for the life of me cannot seem to call up anything regarding Blockbuster using the current number(except your post) If you wouldn't mind, would you please tell me how to do it--I would very much appreciate it. Thank you very much !!

I called the number back and a nice young lady answered. I asked for the name and address of the company. She gave me the address and it just so happened it was the address of another company that I have been doing research on--so it just filled in another piece of the puzzle. I asked,very politely, to be put on their no call list for ALL of the companies and she said "we'll do it"------------well-------------------as you can guess, they called back the next day!!! So now I feel free to post all the info I've dug up on this outfit including the owners name and home address,unlisted phone number(yes, this chickens**t hides his phone number-he doesn't want to be bothered) I wonder how his company reports income to the IRS.By the way- this company(s) is registered with the sate as a PROFESSIONAL TELEMARKETER(for profit) so don't let them give you that charity crap.ONE MORE CALL AND ALL THE INFO GOES UP ON THIS POST get that Bob?

3/7/09,11:43 am,caller stated name was norm from state police,wanted donations for fallen officers.advised him i was busy,and hung up.

Look at 800 notes for the number 800-660-1699 to see who this is.

These people called here again this week - I believe it is a hook for getting money for a charity.  Have no idea if it is legit or note, but I don't give that way.  I'm reporting this to Do Not Call.

calls received several times a day for the past two weeks. When I pick up I hear a hang up. Called the number at 2am today and a mans voice said he was out.

There are no details.  When I answer the phone, they hang up.   I have tried calling back but no answer (hmmm?).

I had an out of area phone call with no number.  When I answered it just to see who it is.  We usually get the The Fraternal Order of Police.  They have used several different numbers to get through since I have been blocking their phone numbers.
Well, how wonderful it is them using the out of area and with no phone number listed.

I said no thanks (dozens of times) and that my brother AND husband are officers in this state.
I was originally polite.

I said that deputies, troopers and officers have said not to give to their organization as it does not go to them at all.

The man then claimed I do not care about fallen officers nor their families and I had no heart.

He then got nasty and I was like take me off this damn list and stop with your harassing phone calls.

Well that was at 11:37am this morning.

I have had phone calls now at 11:50am, 12:12pm, 1:26pm, 1:36pm, 1:38pm.

They think by harassing people they will give their organization a good name.  Now I totally hate their organization and will do what I can to get them back. Since the day is not over with let us wonder how many more times I will be harassed by these so called *good* people.

BTW, I have elderly parents I care for, a toddler and we foster puppies for the local animal shelter.  I don't need these jerks calling to harass us.  Think I will ever  give to them?  Now they just want to try and make us miserable because they care so much about people.  Yeah right.

I called 866-946-9134. They answered as "Community Outreach". They told me they are a telemarketing company. They will remove your phone number if asked to do so.

called and hung up several times. My caller ID trapped the number. I called back and finally got an answer. Apparently is some kind of telemarketing service called Community Outreach. The person stated they make calls for "police associations". We are on the don not call list. It is VERY aggravating that these kind of people are exempt from the don not call list. We give money to organizations we want to. The do not call list should be universal. People like this need to find a real job!

They called, woke me up at 9:45 a.m., (I work nights) I answer , they hang up.
I call them repeatedly for 45 minutes!(this is how pissed i am) finaly an answer, "Comunity outreach"
She explains the call I recieved woud have been for a donation.
I yell profanities at her telling her that to call, wake someone up, and then hang up, all for a donation. Hmmm ! THIS IS ONE HELL OF A WAY TO SOLICET DONATIONS FROM SOMEONE! PISS THEM OFF FIRST?
I TOLD HER TO NOT CALL AND GET A REAL JOB! I am sure my tying up their phone for 45 minnutes trying to reach them was on their mind, this is why they answered. I have this number comitted to memory now, wait till the next call from them.
