Same - hung up after I answered.

Calling everyday and hanging up, very frustrating, needs to be stopped

Phone rang, did not recognise the number, I don't bother answering it.  My fax machine rings into their ear just nice.  Now I find out it was a crank or other unwanted caller. Though I am on the "Do Not Call List" Don't know why we bother to list on that "Do NOt Call List" if they egnore it. Folks, if you don't recognise the number let your FAX machine answer, better said, "ring in their ears, Herm

I am on the "Do Not Call List" but they call anyway. Any time I don't recognise the number I just let my fax machine answer. more people need to the same, I believe they will stop calling people.  Especially those that are on the "Do Not Call List",

This no. showed up on my caller ID and they did not leave a message.  Let's stop these annoying calls.

called 4 times today & as w/others hung up when we answered. They just hang up when you call them back. We are on the "Do not call" list. Obviously it doesn't matter.

Just got a call from whoever it is. If one tries to call back, there is no connection. Interesting.

Just got a call from this number and as many of you have said, no one is there. I called it back and nothing.. what the heck is going on??

These calls are called pings. Telemarketer or survey takers (they are the same thing). Are trying to find out1) will answer the phone 2) what times are you there  to answer the phone 3) what do the demograph information from the sound of the answer. These people do not care if your are on the no call list. they will say it is a survey to get around that. They work out of sweatbox call centers using auto dialing equiptment. They can change numbers at any time. The numer we all got on our phone is one of their test lines. They will sell the info they have about your phone number to another telemarketer. ATT not only does not care about them, they love them and will go to get lenghts to protect this slime.

Phone rings and rings - not enough to pick up voice mail - so does not leave message.  WHAT IS THEIR PROBLEM?
