Instead of the name of the caller, the Caller ID only says
TOLL FREE CALL.

Called twice.   Once on 3/5/14 at 7:36 pm EST.  And a second time on 3/6/14 at 4:55 pm EST.  Calls were made to my AT&T landline.  Caller ID reads:   Toll Free Calle

Googled # and another site indicates a collection agency. Don't know if that's accurate.
Only certain thing I know is that I don't owe any debts.   Did not pick up.  

Received a call this morning.  Caller ID shows "Toll Free Calle".  No message left.

8669488559 caller ID "866 948 8559" also robocalls from 8669481140 callerid "866 948 1140" a telemarketing spammer, offering AT&T upgrades. I am not an AT&T customer. I am on the do not call list. This call is illegal. I do not want these robo calls.

Illegal telemarketing robo caller. Shame on you ATT. You can be fined $1,500 if you call again.

Answered the call and she did not even pronounce my simple last name correctly. She said she was from ATT. Felt like she may have been fishing so hung up and called # back. "Sierra" answered with a "hello", not even announcing that it was ATT until I asked. Asked why she was calling and couldn't give me any reason...this is clearly a scam and not sure if even ATT and if it is, the Caller id should come up as ATT.

I agree with - 'Columbus'   AT&T should identify themselves on the caller ID's.
I never answer calls that don't identify themselves on the caller ID.

I called the # and it is the ATT promotions dept. I keep telling them to remove me from their solicitation list but they do not do it. Ironically, they are bundling their services using crappy VOIP and I could barely hear the person who answered (at least he was not in Mumbai or Taiwan). The other day I called on behalf of my phone bundled disabled friend whose ATT phone was down and it took an hour to get through to a real person who could only admit that there was a problem on their end.

I hate it when legitimate callers, including my doctors and my health insurance company call with blocked IDs. I never know if it is a legitimate call or a solicitation for ATT, a charity, or a political group.

Called this number back and the person answered denied everything. Said she was in area code 925. So how do you call an 866 number and get a 925 number? Lying beyatch.

I've been getting calls repeatedly from this number in the past month. I am an AT&T customer, so if they did want to speak to me (even regarding sales of their products), I'd at least answer the phone. But this "Toll Free Caller" garbage is way out of line. they called today again in the morning, and rang the phone over 30 times. I just shut the ringer off.

"Toll free call" says they are AT&T and asked for me by name. I said please remove me from your caller list and she said "OK, but we have deals...) That's when I hung up.

The real AT&T w/ CID used to call me a lot about U-Verse until I got pissed and asked to be removed. She apologized and said she would. That has since been the end of U-Verse calls from them.

1-866-948-8559 Repeated calls from this number. No caller ID. Just says "toll free number." They never leave message on ans. machine (I don't answer unless caller is identified).  Today the call was at 10 a.m. Saturday.

It's  AT&T trying to get you to bundle your phone, TV and Internet.

Yes, its good old AT&T trying to sell telephone/internet/cable service bundles. I've explained to them at least a dozen times in the past that I can't use their services, but they keep calling. In addition, they IF ANYONE should know that when the caller ID simply says "toll free number", people won't answer anyway. They are a victim of their own insecure, outdated communications system.

I blocked this number a month ago. My call log shows they keep trying, but of course it never comes through. I guess they get a gold star for being persistent! :)

They keep calling a relative asking about a computer and they don't have one.  Would like for them to stop calling!

I got the same "Toll Free Caller" call two days in a row.  The second time they called I picked up and the recording identified themselves as ATT.  It also indicated that they had an ATT-specific DNC list you could get yourself added to by calling a number.  I believe it's the one indicated on this ATT page which has the instructions (800.331.0500):

This article indicates you can also make the request by chatting with them online on the ATT site. When I tried calling the number, it was already after hours.

Seems like it should be an automated selection on their support line instead of making you talk to someone.

calls but no one there

I waited until 9:30 at night and called the number back. It is the ATT Uverse telemarketing department. I requested that they put me on their internal Do-not-Call list. The representative said she would do this, but as a result I would not be notified about upgrades to ATT service. I said fine. This is a landline, and the technology is 100 years old. It's doing fine, as-is.
