They claim that they are US Bank. Called us on a Sunday afternoon. I didn't think it was legal to call on Sundays.

I think this may be a scammer attempting to get a hold of bank account details.  I have been called four times by this number claiming to be USbank.  They asked for my name and confirmation that I am a USbank member.  They seemed highly unprofessional.  I told them I would confirm nothing and that they should email for confirmation if they need any confirmation.  I advise everyone else to do the same.  A bank does not call on sundays so I am pretty sure this is illegitimate.

I got a few calls from this number on Sundays and a few more on Thursdays.  I do hold an account at US Bank and it was in the red awhile back so it would make sense for them to call.  I believe they have call centers open 24/7 so that would explain the Sunday calls.

If it is US Bank that would make sense for me, however they are calling 3x a day on both my cell and home phone.  And when I call the number back it goes straight to an operator and they say some other name, not US Bank.  Weird

ok im 17 and i got like 7 calls in the last week but have just never picked it up because i didnt no who they were but what did they need to no from a 17 yr old that is so important any way? i also found out that they are using this number also 314-714-8459. it is really rude to get a call from them during church!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure if it's U.S. Bank like everyone has said, but every time they call they call my house first and then proceed to call my cell phone. It would make sense if it was U.S. Bank for me but from time to time I'll pick up to see who it is. The thing is, they don't answer and hang up right away. Plus they don't leave a message every time they call. I find this fishy because if it was U.S. Bank or anyone of importance, they would leave a message regarding the matter if it was significant and if they REALLY wanted they're money. IMO, it's quite unprofessional to keep calling someone and not proceed to leave messages to let them know you called, so I'm pretty sure it's a scam. I've gotten calls from U.S. Bank before and when I was unable to pick-up they had always left me messages. I'll be sure to check with my U.S. Bank branch or a REAL U.S. Bank number to see if this number is legit if this persists.

The 866-952-6297 called this morning and asked to speak to my son. I asked who was calling and asked her to leave a message for him. The person hung up on me. Her voice was rough and low.

This number calls me several times every day claiming that they're US Bank. I answered one time and they told me that my account is in the red and that they can make a payment right over the phone and I told them that I would go and do it in person and they argued to me about it. It was very unprofessional. She said to me and I quote, " It sounds like you really don't even care that your bank account is negative!" How rude!
I hung up on her and then immediately after I got a call from 314-714-8457. They've called me a few times as well and I know they're the same people!

314 is a St. Louis, MO area code

So.... if it IS a scam... what are they trying to accomplish?  Called me too, and when I call back it says "THE WIRELESS CALLER IS UNAVAIL.."
Weird... If it's a scam, can something be done?  Whose the authority on these things.. All I know is about a month or two back someone got into our Checking and Savings account and took a bunch of money.  This is ridiculous; I guess the crooks are always two steps ahead of the "professionals" who are supposed to be stopping this sort of thing.

This number is a scam, it is not related to US Bank,  I called back and the receptionist didn't even know who she worked for.  Do not give them any information.

the 314 area code number is a US Bank number.  I believe the other one is, as well.  I wouldn't give out information over the phone, though.  I've gotten a call before regarding payment on a credit card (they call if you're even a day late, I swear).

I just received a call from this number, but when I answered I got no response. From reading the posts above, it does look like a scam, but I don't understand what kind of scam. Is there any place to report this type of calls?

This has to be a scam. They called a friend of mine. I called the number back. asked who they were. She said card member services... for USBank collections. I myself do have an account in USBank collections and when I told her I was calling about my account she asked for my phone number. USBank doesnt ask for a phone numnber. They as for your account number ot name or social. I gave her my real phone number, which is my cell that USBank has on file for me. She didnt find an account. You can tell by the noise in the back ground that its a call center. But if you call USBank directly you will get a USBank recording with options to enter your account number. This 866 number answerd on the first ring and no USBank recording. Has to be a scam...

they are probably just with a collection agency and make tons of calls every day for various companies

the person on the other end gets paid per person that they get to pay so they will do whatever they can to get you to pay

brush up on FDCPA (fair debt collection practices act) and bust them for a violation if they keep bothering you for no good reason

These people claim to be US Bank........THEY ARE NOT!!!!!!! I've talked to the branch Manager at my local US bank and explained to her everything they try to get me to do, (which is trying to do a post-dated checked over the phone). She told me that US bank does not take post-dated checks, and will never ask for one. I know she's been in contact with her bosses and such at the main USBank headquaters to try to get this figured out and fixed.

My phone number has been getting calls for someone who doesn't even live there. It's been going on for over a year now. They said that I can not have the number removed from the persons account, that the account holder has to remove it. These people are driving me nuts!! I am going to have to change my number in order to get it stopped.

Yes, I got the same calls 866-952-6297 a couple of times a day. They claim they are USBank and just want my SSN. Obviously they are cheaters. How can I block them or report them?
