They claim that they are McCrary Law Firm. They give you this number to call them back. It is a call from a machine--not a person

So what happened when you called back?

Message on phone stated that it was very important that we contact McQuary Law Firm about a very important legal matter.

they called our house 3 times.  once they didn't leave a message.  but it was a lady that called and said the very exact thing.  important legal matter.  but they didn't say who they were calling for.  just gave this number and the law firm

did anyone ever find out what they were calling about? i just recieved a call from them today and it was a lady, Kimberly, and that is exactly what she said. call in regards to an important legal matter.

Got the same call myself with the exact same message about an important legal matter, and I am on the Do Not Call list.

Got the same call......."important legal matter" and the phone number. I don't know what they want but until a "human" calls me with a real reason i will ignore it.

According to papers I was mailed a while back, they're a sort of collections agency.  In my case, it was trying to collect on a speeding ticket from some tiny little town in Texas off I-45 that's since lapsed.

Got a call today from them. They asked for a Mr. so and so and I immediately hung up. I googled the number then called them back. They wanted to verify it was me but i wouldnt do it and i asked what they wanted ,but they wouldnt tell me unless i verified it was me. Then I said in regards to so and so he wishes to only do correspondence thru the mail. She then said,"Sorry Sir,we will remove you from our phone list immediately." Still have no clue what they wanted.

8/22/2008 recording saying Mccrary legal, important message no details.

I called back the number and a representative asked ME what number the recording had called, gave him number and he said there were no records for that phone number. Sounds like a total scam to me! He was unable to remove this business number from his data-base..Hmmmm they didn't have any idea why it had called our business?
Sounds like an auto dialing system that pulls numbers from thin air.

My friend Judy answered the phone and this Lude told her to tell me to call here back at this number. She didn't say what it was about

I know it is a law firm that handles collections for DPS traffic tickets, I just paid a failure to appear/speeding ticket hanndled by the firm.

The call is from the MVBA Law Firm, Collections department.

They handle collections for TX DPS tickets that have not been taken care of in court.

If you're getting a call from them, it probably means you were speeding and got pulled over somewhere in TX and never paid your ticket.

they keep callin me. so i finally called back to see what it was. they claim that my husband got a ticket in sugarland tx back in 1994 and they are collecting the money from that. hard to believe since he cant get his military security clearance if he has outstanding warrants, and the statute of limitations would have been expired on anything after 7 years.  seems phisy to me. the people you talk to are rude, and say that the only thing their law firm does is collect on unpaid speeding and parking tickets.  odd.....they could give me no other information.  i smell a rat....the woman said my husband gave the officer the number they called when he was pulled over..oddly enough, we are on the east coast, and at the time of the 'ticket' he lived in the midwest, nowhere near texas...hhhmmmmmmmm....so how would he even know this number 14 years before he got the number?????

My daughter has been getting calls on her cell phone from these people almost every day asking for her ex-boyfriend and he actually got a letter in the mail from them to call about "an important legal matter".  She finally called mostly to tell them to quit calling.  They asked HER for full payment TODAY by phone for an unpaid traffic citation.  She is of course smart enough to not fall for that especially since the call wasn't even for her.  She has made him pay all of his old tickets over a year ago and there are no warrants so this sure sounds like a scam to get the unsuspecting.  Guess they get a certain percentage that maybe do have an unpaid ticket and fall for it.

866 955 5455 - I have received numerous calls with no messages. Annoying phone calls at odd hours. Thanks for keeping the consumer informed.  The documented information is most helpful.

toll free calls similar to university of phoenix ads harassment- if DPS pays for these services then the public money is used to fund such calls and advertising.  What is the government receiving in the form of services?  Citizen intimidations and harassments?  Where does the law come into play?  What constitutes fraud and "mob" type calls, are citizens safe in the most industrialized nation in the world?  copy of this to bbc have your say.
