- anonymous replies to steph121asteph121a is a lying scumbag Green Dot Moneypak scammer shill. That New Jersey BBB webpage works just fine! Just went to it. "Scammers Use Green Dot MoneyPaks To Steal Online" dated 3/26/2010. Basic scam is get victims to put their cash upfront into a Moneypak card, then scammers empty the card. Victims lose the money they put in and get nothing in return because there is no lottery winnings -- it's all a BIG FAT LIE.
- anonymous replies to steph121asteph121a is a lying scumbag Green Dot Moneypak scammer shill. Yes, all winnings are taxable be it a million dollar lottery or a car BUT NOT UP FRONT. The IRS says winnings become taxable only when you can benefit from it. If the winnings is NOT in your hands even though you are the announced winner, the winnings are NOT YET TAXABLE. The winnings have to be IN the winner's hands before it becomes taxable. So you won a million dollars? The million dollars must be in your hands before it becomes taxable so don't put any money into a Moneypak card for the SCAMMER before you get your million dollars (or the car).

- Police Detective replies to KristieI am a police detective, and I can warn you:do NOT fall for this scam. They get gullible people to load money cards, then immediately transfer the funds to another account and go do ATM withdrawals. It is a total scam, and if you fall for it you will quickly find yourself a victim. I encourage everyone who gets a call from these clowns to report it to the Federal Trade Commission via thier web site: FTC.GOV. Shut these thieves down!
- AZ Victim| 3 repliesLost $300 in this GREENDOT PayPAl scam. There is no GREENDOT Money Pak PayPay sweepstakes. This was confirmed with PayPal.
I caught on when "Scott Summers" at 1-866-963-6205 tried to get $1000 more (two $500 cards) because I was "middle-class" and would need to pay more taxes.
Anyone on this site claiming to have won is LYING and part of the SCAM.

- A Family SurvivorResearch October 17, 2012 because we keep getting calls from them daily for my Dear Mother who passed away more than two years ago and they claim she won 10 Million Dollars in a recent lottery ticket she purchased recently (from her ashes spread across the Pacific Ocean). - TX replies to AZ Victim| 2 repliesI just got a voice call from them and I didn't know what it was so I called the #8669636205 then this guy called Scot answer he told me to text greendot or moneypak to the # they confirmed from the voice message they left me.. while texting and having him in the call text would not reply back and would say service access denied... he told me theirs another way we can do this by purchasing a green dot moneypak from wal-mart or CVS of only 300 so I got one and at the end decided to research about this and found this massage that you put about before him what should I do and I don't know what to do with card...
- anonymous replies to TX| 1 replyIf you have not passed any card info (number, receipt, etc.) to the scammer, then you are safe. You can keep the card and just spend the money on it as you wish or you can also get your money out of the card by contacting Green Dot (fees may apply). Consider yourself lucky. Beware GD cards behave like cash, not like credit cards, and there is no legal protection against theft on prepaid cards.
If you've passed card info to the scammer, the scammer will steal the money you've put on the card so you need to get your money out ASAP. It's now a race to get your money out of the card before the scammer steals it. Call Green Dot, explain the situation and tell them to kill the card and get your money out. You must kill the card because scammers have it. - TX replies to anonymousThanks I still have the card... I called back and decided to push 1 for Spanish and so while I was waiting the same guy Scot answered again their was no Spanish answering so I started talking Spanish and they suddenly he hung up on me.. what a scam! It always that same guy answering. Now the thing is how to get.my refund back from this card hopefully it can be refunded automatically to my account :\
I'm glad I ran into this website really helpful...
