I receving a call from this guy name david he call saying I got some legal issues and need to call this me or my attorney right away.

I received a phone call from a Bret or Brad Owens stating they were from Sterling and Seymour Attoneys in New York City stating they would place a judgement on me if I didn't pay on a debt. The phone # on caller ID was 716-204-1800 in Newy York. Whatever you do don't give them any credit card information...

I got a call from a Brad Owens today from the exact same number.  I'm not going to call them back but am going to report it!  Let him call again and he's gonna get a tongue lashing! Wasn't home when he called so he left a voicemail.

there useing a new tactic now...yesterday i got a call from an 800-652-6042 number i didn't answer it so they left a voice mail apon hearing the voice mail i got a message saying...that i was named as a person of interest in an important matter in there office by my S.S number & it is in my best intrest that i call there office at 866-981-6464 & that if i didn't call that decisions would be made without my knowlegde...the next morning at 4:00am i called that number useing *67 & was told it was the offices of  Sterling and Seymour & hung up & do not intend to call them back but if they do? thank god i got privacystar on my phone & i can file a complaint on them & get them to stop just like i have with outher collection agencys in the past these agencys can't do anything & had one tell me that i should go rob a bank to get them money because i told them i had been out of work since last june & i told him to go f**k  himself & never herd back from them again...stand up for your self & don't let them scare you & they well leave you alone & has always worked for me in the past

I got call from Brad Owen  from Sterling and Seymore (716-204-1800)on my work number how they got that I dont know. He told me I need to call him back right away with my legal represation asap for a debit that I owe them. How does one know if they are legit or not?

I got a message from them today, saying the same thing that have been said by all of you.  It is great to have 800notes.  There are so many scam artist out there.

Glad im a person of interest, i always thought of myself that way.  anyway... i am so sick of getting these damm messeges and calls when you do answer its some damm forienger that doesnt even speak english...

I got a call on my work number, I didn't answer, then they call my cell number I didn't answer them either.  They keep calling me every month around pay day.  I want them to stop.

Sounds to me your a person that doesn't pay there bills and has gotten very good at it. Great advice to people that do not act grown enough to take care of there obligations. Gosh, I hope you do not have children.

This company said that they were going to put a lein on my car the next day. The company is Sterling and Seymour.  I live in Florida. I don't think they can do that without going to court to get a judgement first?

According to the FTC it is illegal for them to say that they are calling from an attorneys office if they are not an actual attorney. This is a debt collection agency in New York and they cannot tell you they are going to sue you unless they are actually planning to. Those debt collectors are breaking all kinds of laws because consumers don't know their rights.

Glad you are an upstanding citizen but in the real world upstanding citizens are losing their jobs and homes. Some people have to make a choice between feeding their families and paying a credit card bill. Some of us have tried to work with creditors who don't care about our financial situations. Is it our fault the government has run the economy into the ground, sent manufacturing and other jobs overseas. If you are so upstanding pay someone else's debt!

They just used a local number to call me at work and said that they had a summons and that they are going to notify check cashing companies and banks and freeze my checking account until court. Can they do that?

Got a phone call from 716-204-1815. A guy name Eric Ross spoke with my co worker and told him that I owed money and he was sending out a summons against me tomorrow and even gave him info on the vehicle I drive and told them it was at risk and he would also freeze my bank accounts. I got a call from my coworker and I called this Eric Ross...... he said I owe $1520, I offered less than half to him and he jumped on it! I have sent all this info to my attorney for him to investigate, we will see what he has to say :) I don't think they are legit, they can not say they are attorneys and can NOT tell coworkers that type of info!

Sometimes it isn't that easy. Of course we all want to have all of our bills paid on time and in full but sometimes the REAL world just doesn't work that way.
