- H Jacobs| 2 repliesPlease look into the background of anyone to make sure they're legit. There's ripoff warnings, a bbb complaint and court house legal drama in connection to Jim Shead coaching services being a scam. One court house saga in connection to Jim Shead coaching services can be viewed here: http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/USCOURTS-mnd-0_0 ... -cv-01686-0.pdf
Please look into the background of Jim Shead or anyone else before handing your money over for "coaching" services to assure they aren't a professional scam artist. Words are great, but actions speak louder. I would personally feel more comfortable handing my money over to be a party to do an actual real estate deal.
Jim Shead travels around the world doing his scam coaching services. So far, there's only one "Jim Shead" real estate coach that has an online presence. Every time I google "Jim Shead" real estate, all the links that come up are regarding this one individual.- Caller: Jim Shead Coaching Services
- Annoyed victim of spamming| 1 replyThis Jim Shead guy keeps spamming me with messages about some conference. I never signed up to any email list and have never dealt with Jim Shead in my life, never done business or dealt with anyone associated with his company American Investors Association and I'm am quite annoyed at all the spam I've been getting recently. I don't know how he or his company got my email, they got my email without my permission and I dislike getting messages when I didn't even sign up for their email list. Ugghhh
- Tamianth replies to Annoyed victim of spammingFor a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number. For tracfone & straight talk:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.privacystar.android.tracfone&hl=en

For text messages: forwarding any text message spam you get to the short code “7726,” which spells “spam” on most phones, to alert your network operator to the abuse. ATT won't accept 7726 But they will accept BLOCK and return a message that the web site is blocked. forward the texts to 7726 or BLOCK, depending on your phone carrier.

https://800notes.com/faq/state-do-not-call - KevinI'm also getting several messages from "American Investors Association" & "American Freedom Properties", which seems to be the same company, about some free seminar. From what I've heard around town is that at this "free seminar" Jim Shead then pushes you to sign up for a "paid seminar" on some future date. I will just mark his messages as spam since I never signed up for them.
- Josh| 9 repliesWhere there's a scam artist, there's always other traits to their personality such as being a spammer & there's always some fraud skeletons in their closet as well:
http://www.biggerpockets.com/forums/103/topic ... sing-short-sale - CraigI also got spammed by Jim Shead. I never heard of the guy until I got all this spam in my inbox. It is annoying when you feel like someone is trying to manipulate you to eventually sell you something other than what you really want. I invest my money in real estate, I don't invest my money to hear someone tell you what to do and not know what part of what he's saying is actually fraudulent or not. NO THANKS. I leave the fraudulent real estate behavior to Jim Shead and his company. I'd rather stay out it.
- Rob replies to Josh| 8 repliesJosh, you've posted this link in several forums now, and it says nothing about Jim Shead. Do you actually have any evidence of Jim or his Companies being involved in any such activity?
- Rob replies to H Jacobs| 1 replyIf you actually read this court document you will see that the person who sued Jim Shead paid $1000 to a totally different company and showed up at the wrong location for his training. Jim let him in anyways and didn't charge him. When the person became disruptive and complained the wasn't getting the training he signed up for (duh) he was removed for the class.
He then sued Jim and all the trainers at the course.
He lost in court, and was even jailed for contempt.
So this happened, 7 years ago, you didn't lose a cent, and Jim was vindicated in court.
Next time maybe try reading your evidence before posting it- unless you work for a competitor and just want to try and slander Jim.
BTW, the 866 number has been inactive for over a year now, so none of the people in this thread posting of calls this year from this number is telling the truth. - Josh replies to Rob| 1 replyRob, I just simply don't need shady behavior around me.
From the bigger pockets post:
"Hello, quick question to all the EXPERTS out there...I was approached, on my own residential property, by a Realtor, who was showing a client a short sale across the street. When the Realtor got to speaking to my husband, he realized that we were also in a Foreclosure situation, and that we're going through a loan mod. Well, next thing I know, this guy sends us an offer, for about $25k less than the neighbors short sale price ($425k), with $25k BACK ....TO US????!!!! Is such an offer even ethical? Can it be done? We were going to hold the property as a rental, but wouldn't mind getting a lump sum in cash in return (to invest elsewhere) if we could.
Thanks for anyone's expert opinion in this.
BTW, I just spoke to an investor this weekend, someone from American Investors Network (Jim Shead's group) who said it could possibly be done, if done right."
Response
"The short answer is YES, it is truly unethical and probably illegal. It is also a hook to get you on the line. After sometime, he will tell you things like: Sorry but the number did not line up, or the lender would not allow you to receive proceeds. ...." - Josh replies to Rob| 5 repliesI only posted this link on 1 other forum, NOT "several". If this link is posted on "several" then other folks must be re-posting it.
More evidence that Jim Shead scams folks out of their money:
http://uscomplaints.com/construction-repair/8 ... them-again.html - Josh replies to RobThat's exactly what scam artists do. After victimizing enough folks, they eventually change their #, eventually use a different company name & so on. It all sounds too fishy for me, with changing their number, other folks from several years ago posting stuff about him. Way too much shady stuff surrounding someone is enough for me to know when to stay away from someone.
- JessicaI was also getting spammed by Jim Shead & American Investors Association
- TomGood to know. Thanks for the posts everyone. I marked all messages from Jim Shead and his companies as "spam". As I never gave him or his companies permission to send me their advertisements. In the future, should they send anything to my email again, it will automatically filter in to my spam folder.
- Biff Malibu replies to JoshSo someone who worked at the back of a room processing orders at an event didn't know an answer to a question, and this happened almost a decade ago. And by the way in Georgia it is actually legal - so their guess was correct, and the person from bigger pockets was wrong! And based on this you post a negative comment about someone whose event or training you have never been to and think they are shady. I think you are a heck of a lot more shady than Jim Shead. Why don't you try attending an event first before shooting your mouth off - especially on something that happened almost a decade ago and had nothing to do with Jim?
- Biff Malibu replies to Josh| 4 repliesJosh, if you actually did your homework on something that happened almost a decade ago, you would know that AIN went bankrupt after the CFO embezzled over 10 million from the company. You have never been to one of their events. You have never done business with this organization. Yet you are willing to bad mouth someone you have never even met.
You are the shabby person in this scenario and you lack all credibility and integrity.
By all means, keep posting for whomever you work for, time will either promote you or expose you - it's all a matter of time. - Josh replies to Biff Malibu| 1 replyIt appears that "time has exposed" the person and organization that you're defending:
https://complaintwire.org/complaint/3EEudRoGt ... estate-coaching - Josh replies to JoshAnd by the way, I don't work for anyone. I'm an individual independent real estate investor that does my research to make sure I don't waste my money on scam artists such as Jim Shead and his company.
Thanks! - Josh replies to Biff Malibu| 1 replyThis replay is meant to reply to "Biff Malibu":
And by the way, I don't work for anyone. I'm an individual independent real estate investor that does my research to make sure I don't waste my money on scam artists such as Jim Shead and his company.
Thanks! - Seriously replies to JoshJust ignore the shill-he only said you were working for them to deflect from his own actions
- CynthiaI looks like "Jim Shead" does more than just spam you via email:
Jim Shead and a colleague of his took someone of $5k and never reimbursed them:
