yes you would think after calling 20 times every day
for months with never an answer
they would get the hint and stop.not interested.
they just want to see if its a valid number
and get as much info as they can out of it.
    never answer.let them waste time.
    record the message
"your number cannot be completed as dialed"
or some other "operator" message on your answering machine.
    thats fun.
when they call here, they will hear my answering machine say
"this number is disconnected or no longer in service..."
now if they want to hear that same message over and over
all day long, let them waste their time on it. LOL.

Seriously... replies to isnt it obvious
Instead of wasting their time and the governments money... let them know to take you off their list. They'll respect that because it's a legitimate survey. You need to realize that without this business, none of the people on the phone that call you would have a job right now... If you take a few seconds to hear them out, you may want to participate and at no cost (but you definitely wont if you don't have kids). If not, don't waste people's time and money simply because you want to get a laugh, especially with this economy. They won't know your not interested if you say nothing and persistence is there because they don't know your schedule and have to try different times. I agree that 20 times is a bit much (and I hope that's an exaggeration) but seriously... let them know to take you off their list. IT WORKS!

I work for NORC and we conduct the NIS surveys for the CDC. Just know no one is stalking you where just trying to get information to know if childern in you area need help with health care programs. Now if you don't want to participate then say so, so we can stop calling you and call people who need help and want to participate. Your so set on getting a laugh but just hope you never have children and find yourself needing free help. Plus this helps people in your community as well so your hurting them too!

They keep calling you until you answer. Answer the phone and go through 2-3 questions and then say your not comfortable and hang up, you get $5 in the mail and a letter that says they will give you $10 if you finish. It's legit. It came in cash.

the call is from norc in chicago, il they are doing research on immunizations of children for the centers for disease control and prevention.  this study is the primary source of vaccination data that the CDC uses to improve health care and provide programs for areas that may be in need. People recieve these services everyday and do not complain when the recieve vaccinations and protect their children from disease, but they wont take a little time to improve the programs and allow the government to continue to protect the nation by stopping the spread of disease.  It doesnt take to long and the only reason they are persistant is because this is really important.  People are scared of swine flu and want vaccinations to be available well if the cdc dont know where the shots are needed then how are they gonna protect the people. They dont even ask anything like social security or nothing.  I did the survey and it was not long and the person guiding me through the survey was nice and did not pressure me on any questions that i didnt want to answer.  Im just glad to say that i was able to help my children and the nations children by participating in this study. Without vaccinations the spread of polio, chicken pox, measels and all those other diseases we get vaccinated from would be infecting people and could have bad results for our country. I just hope other parents are willing to participate in this study so we can continue to protect our children and recieve health care programs that we actually need.

use a little common sense replies to isnt it obvious
instead of giving people the runaround, why don't' you act mature and ask them to remove you from the list?  they are not calling to "just see if it's a valid number". they are interested in children's health. the reason they ask about phones and what type of dwelling you live in is to see where in the country there are problems with people getting vaccinations.  if you own a home, have insurance and 8 cell phones at your home you probably aren't skipping immunizations due to lack of income.

use a little common sense replies to Christian
they ask about phones and your home and insurance to be able to tell if people aren't getting vaccinations because they don't have the money or because they just don't care or want to receive them. asking questions about the environment the child lives in gives a lot of information about where they need to work on getting kids vaccinated.

Both CDC and NORC have toll-free numbers where people can request not to be called. At NORC, it’s 1-866-999-3340. At CDC, it’s 1-800-223-8118, and callers should cite protocol #2000-17.

Census Enumerator's Spouse replies to its legit
When the census was taken in April 2010 and continued for several months afterwards, yes months, people felt harangued because the enumerators would continue to return to homes of people who had refused to give information the first and second time and so on.  Isn't that supposed to help the government know how many children live in the country?  We gave names, ages and so forth on the forms.  Now the government is asking us for more information?  We have to provide due process, why can't the government?  They could co-operate with all of the agencies involved to share information.

Relax!  Center for Disease Control, I just spent 15 minutes answering questions,  no harm done. They even say if you don't want to answer any questions just let them know and if you want the survey to end to let them know.  Let them do thier job! Already!

    I  do surveys
All you have to do with this, and any unwanted call, is say "take me off the list".
Abusing the caller, debating with them will not do anything, they have no power over policy.
