Got a call from a guy, didn't speak clear English, I had to ask him to repeat what he was saying several times.  I finally deciphered he said he was with publishers and I won $900,000.  I hung up.

Got a call... asked the name... already forgot the name.  Signal was breaking up.  He actually lost me the first time in the first second, so I answered again the second time.  When he said his name and then asked how I was doing, I knew it had to be a scam, so I hung up.  Then I find out it is!

Got a call from this number said I won $955,000.00. SCAM!

called 9/7/2012 @ 9:19pm I was chraged $1.62 on my cell phone bill

Called by same number and told I was getting a delivery from UPS driver in 5 minutes but had to call a number. I asked why the call and he couldn't answer the call. Said the gift of a car and cash was from Publishers Clearing House. I said I don't play the PCH game and he said he must have the wrong number and hung up.

Just got a call saying "JAMAICA" on Caller ID, from a man that sounded like a foreign robot, saying he was from UPS?  Asking if I remembered signing some paper, and that I won a car and a check for delivery today.  I hung up, searched the number and found this site.  Calling my carrier to make sure I don't get charged anything.  Scammers!

Just when I thought I had heard the last from these filthy, little animals, I received a call from someone claiming his  name was "John Felix" (what is it with these clowns - do they think every white person in the US has "John" for a first name?) In any event, this "John" was calling to tell me I had won 3.5 million dollars! As it turns out, this SHLF (Sub Human Life Form) was NOT connected to the scam operation that contacted me two weeks ago. In that scheme, I was contacted by a "John Baker" who instructed me to get a Green Dot Money card from CVS to pay my registration fees because I had won 2.5 million from "Mega Millions." As a previous poster mentioned, these calls are being placed via Magic Jack and the audio quality is very poor. So poor, in fact, I had to abandon my recording of the call just to understand this worthless [***]. In order to once again pay for "registration fees of 5%," I was instructed to obtain a Money Gram for $499.25 and that I would be sending it to "Lloyd David Cook, 5201 Vermont Ave, Los Angeles, CA" Let me rush off and do that now.

Just got a call today from an unknown number who told me to call 876-385-8588, that I had won $900,500 and a new car from PCH!! That I should go home right away because the van was on their way... I received another call right after that from 876-891-2848 which sounded like the same people.

I got the same  call from 1-876-385-8437 he says his name is James Carter  from PCH and that I've won a $955,000 price and a Mercedes Benz, asked me to pay for 1% of the taxes $5,000. i ask him to take that 1% out of the price I'd won he kept saying they're taking care off 99% of taxes insistent "p.o.c"
isn't there a way to stop them?

This is not a toll free "800" number, it is the international long distance code for the island nation of Jamaica. You are charged international and long distance rates for calling this number. Other international/long distance area codes are 809, 284, and 649.

Publishers Clearing House DOES NOT call, email, FAX, mail, any advanced notice that you have won.

My mom received a call from these people and because she has entered PCH she called me. I called them back, wrong thing to do of course, and told if I had won they wouldn't need any money, guy got pissed and told me I could not tell him how to run his company. Didn't realize her cell phone would be charged almost 17.00$ Lesson learned.

Got a call at 7:50AM on March 21/14, from someone claiming to be David Sawyer and that I had won 2.5 million plus $2,000.00 a month for life from Reader's Digest!   All went well until he said something about needing to pay insurance on the letter, and when I laughed and said just send me the cheque, his demeaner changed and he said "don't tell me what to do."  I replied that no one from Reader's Digest would address me in such a way, and I hung up.

The scheme is slick, I can see where many people would be taken in.  

Just now got a phone call from this number, telling me I won $950,000 and something else I couldn't understand, from an entry to PCH I supposedly made a long time ago.  I just kept answering "Sure" to his questions, and wanted me to write down a number, and call Agent Malone (ha!) immediately at 876-596-0289 ext. 5.  It was obvious this guy was tring to disguise his voice, and was confirmed when he "transferred" me to his manager, and forgot to change his voice in the middle of it.....This guy is a real piece of work!  I looked up the number, and found this site...it sad that there are some out there that fall for this load of crap!

Received a call from some man who could barely speak English who told me to call the Publishers Clearing House. After ten minutes of garbled instructions, he gave me another number to call which is 876-521-1326. He told me to ask for Albert Johnson at extension 227. Three minutes later, he called back and wanted to know if I had called. I told him I would call when I was good and ready.

Area code 876 - Jamaica, the Caribbean country. A call there will produce International long distance charges on your phone bill. Since it's a very well known scam there is no need to call, but an excellent reason not to take the calls.
