This is a telephone scam. This guy called me saying he was from the BBB then I told him I don't own a any companies. But I let him go on to tell me that he said I should be getting a check in the mail for $250,000 that I need to go to the bank with. Then I got pissed off and said how stupid do you think I am? The man didn't know what to say except he said it wasn't a scam and that he goes to church and lives in America. He had a Jamaican accent. Clearly he thinks people will fall for this. I hope nobody does.

If he lives in America what the heck is he doing calling with a Jamaican phone number?  Gotta be expensive roaming charges if it's a cellphone!

I received two calls in a row from this number. I did not answer, though because my cell phone showed that the call was from Jamaica. The only affiliation I have with Jamaica is that I stayed at a Sandals there within the last year. Guess where I won't be visiting.

Got a call on my city issued phone number (I am a police chief of a small city in Oklahoma). I answered with the name of my police department but it didn't slow this guy's scam pesentation one bit. I let him run on for a bit, then told him that I would need to verify before going any further and would call him back. I thought that would end it but he called back. The idiot went back through his story about me winning cash & a car but I would need 1% of the cost to insure my newly won car up front. I told him no and I would need to contact the company I won the "prize" from first. He told me to do so & he would call back. Dang no callback, guess I missed out.

Yep - this guy just called me today and said I won $250,000 for shopping at my local Walmart. It was weird - he mentioned a date and everything - like he thinks I don't know when I shop at Walmart (practically never)? I called the local police department to report it, in case he tries it with anyone else around here.

He has threatened my life if I don't pay 5,000 dollars! I'm reporting him!

Yep he's called my friend and I got on the phone and told him if he's legit and professional why be so rude

I received a call from this number & said I on 250,000 & a Merc.Benz from publishers clearing house, when asked why calling from Jamaica  he said was affiliated I questioned validity since I didn't send application, he said my phone number qualified 7 that they were in a nearby town to deliver but quickly asked if I had a boyfriend I ignored that comment & said any info could be sent via mail & clearing house had my address & I didn't have e/mail, then he began speaking more personally wanting my # & address saying liked me & wanted to meet. conversation ended I had no leading words only blunt & no information but he is a predator, a younger person may be intrigued. BEWARE

Received a call on my cell phone.  Guy states that my phone number was selected as 2nd place winner for today.  I won $900,000+ and a cherry red mercedes.  I asked where he got my number from as I did not enter any sweepstakes.  He said that the cell phone numbers are placed in a pool of numbers and selected based on your record.  Asked if I knew Donald Trump and said that he has sponsored this.  He also asked if I knew Ed McMahon.  I told him he could pick the next number in his pool and offer it to them.  He said that he couldn't, as my number was selected.  When he got to the part that someone will show up at my front door with a check as big as ...... I heard enough of his scam.  I stopped him and told him that I was not interested in his offer.

I received the exact same call from this guy today. Almost identical to your same story except I was only receiving $800,000.00 along with the cherry red Mercedes. He gets very angry if you do not cooperate and refuse him

this person keeps calling  me and i do not answer the phone.  this has been going on for at least 3 months,
