- Sam SpiroI got into it with these guys (talked to "mr. Johnston, Amos?, and Michael Fairbanks). They had been calling my grandmother and kept hounding her to send them $700 to get $700,000 sweepstakes. I told them not to call back again, and the guy got very testy with me, claimed she 'owed' it to them and that he could keep calling back until he got it. I threatened to call the FBI, pretended I had them on a recording with the FBI, and they freaked out and hung up on me. Ten minutes later I got a call from them again with the cryptic message from the guy on the other line saying "Your Dead". And then he hung up. That's right, went from a telemarketing call to a death threat in about 3 calls.

- RSV| 1 replySCAM!!! Rude, swearing, yelling when questioned about the money ($400.00) we had to pay in order to receive 2.5 million dollars that we had won. US Marshals were even going to bring it to our house at 5pm. YEA RIGHT!!

- MICHIGANDERMy mother recieved a call from goldrush international trying to scam her out of $500.00. They said she won 2 million. I told her to call star 69 to get their number and report it. The number is 876-456-8603. First a man talked to her and she hung up and then a woman called back and my mother let her talk for ten minutes and she said no thanks she wasn't sending them any money until she got the 2 million.
- Caller: goldrush international enterprises
- Jen| 4 repliesI got a call from Kevin Wilson and John Goodman/or Goodland. I also talked to another man who was supposed to be the manager. They all had accents, which I guessed were Indian from India. They all had testy attitudes with me telling me to "listen to them and pay attention because they are trying to tell me something." They all said they have no proof they could give me and no gaurentee except for me to send them $175 in a moneygram or western union. Total Scam! I told all of them I will not send them money to insure their check ligitimacy papers if I had no proof in return that I would recieve 3.5 million. They said a police officer, a ups delivery person, and another person I don't remember would deliver the check to me at my house at 1pm today. I yelled at the last person I talked to so he finally gave me a web site: International Gold Rush.com. Then I saw all these other testimonials saying it's a scam. The men all said they were being nice to take time out of their day to talk to me and that they would give it to a charitable organization if I didn't want the 3.5 million check. I told him to give it to the breast cancer foundation...then he said I have to do that myself after giving them my money. I said they could send it cuz I'm not giving them any money. He got mad and yelled things at me in his language then hung up.

- JCThey have a new #, 876-825-0747 and claim to have a $3.5 million dollar check ready to send after I wire them $999 to an address in Gumwater, WA.
First they called while I was at the store, then asked me to take some info and call back. On the return call, you could barely make out what they were saying between the accent and the line breaking up. Gold Rush International Sweepstakes from Readers Digest, yeah, right and I even asked how much of the $999 the "agent", John Miller got. I've never met a "Miller" with that bad of an accent.
Guess what ? Mapquest does not know a Gumwater, WA.
And how much of this is Terry Hesseltine at 716 Dennis Street, Gumwater, WA taking in ?- Caller: Gold Rush International

- Refused to be Scammed replies to telemarketer torturer| 22 repliesI received a call today from Mr. Carl Douglas of Gold Rush Sweepstakes stating that I won 3.5 million dollars, he said a I had 2 options of obtaining this money, do a bank to bank money transfer for a fee of $1250.00 or use their courier service paying a fee of $725.00 to Ms. Makeda Harvey @12 Washington Blvd, Kingston Jamaica WI, via western union. Once the money was paid I was to call back 876-428-8402 with the receipt #, and within minutes the money would be delivered to my door. This did not sound right to me, I called them back pretending to be someone else, I gave a false name and address, they told me that they had my file and proceeded to give me their phony pitch. I contacted the FTC and filed a complaint. I hope they are put out of business, don't be taken by these crooks
- Teresa| 1 replyI received a call at my home, left message stating I won 3.5 millon dollars. Said to call 876-362-2357 and then some other numbers. I could't understand him. I knew it must be a spam. Didn't call the no.
- Ms. A.| 1 replyMr. Dave Johnson contacted me to inform me that there was a package that will be delivered by UPS the following day and that I needed to two forms of ID to receive it. He asked if I was expecting a package of any sort and after I told him no, he verified that he was speaking to the correct owner associated with the telephone number. He then advised me that he had a check for the amount of $500,000 from the payee Gold Rush International by way of Bank of America. I informed him that I had no knowledge of a sweepstakes winning and he requested to send information to me via an email. After receiving my email address he called me three times thereafter to confirm if I had received and email on what needed to be done to receive my winnings. The email was fraudulent because it was a jpeg file with a Bank of American letter head. There were four documents that were identical and none of them provided information on what needed to be done as he so stated over the phone. Nothing stating me winning anything from Gold Rush Sweepstakes just a letter showing a delay in delivery of funds from BOA.
This is a scam do not fall for the many methods that they may try to use to get you to fork up any money. I never answered any more of his phone calls so I do not know what the 'fee' would have been to receive my 'winnings'- Caller: Gold Rush Internation

- Claudiareceiving calls from 876 area code. wants me to wire $169 and he will then see that I get my check and even go to the bank with me to cash it. He says he is with Bank of America, and would like me to wire money gram. When I asked him how I won 1.5 million he says my name was drawn at a store where I used my credit card and that they have these drawings every month or so. He is persistent and can really act nice enough to make you want to send the money gram. But thanks to the warnings, I won't be sending the money. But believe me, even with the accent he is smooth enough. I asked him if anyone from Bank of America knew him and he said yes they did. He said when the wire was received my check would be delivered. I said that I could not get a check cashed that easily from a foreign bank, but he said that he would have someone go to Bank with me. This is the first time someone has tried to scam me by this method. I haven't given an answer to the caller yet, as I wanted to find out more about his scam. The money gram is supposed to be sent to St. James, JA (merchants bank). Of course, I am not going to wire the money. Please be careful of these calls.
