I got a call from this number claiming they were Publisher's Clearing House and that I had won $550,000 and a new Mercedes Benz. I was told to go to Walgreen's and get a Green Dot Money Pack Paper card in the amount of $299.25. I asked the guy calling how F'ing stupid do you think I am!  This is a SCAM!!!  I hope no one falls for this!!!
Another thing...his voice was altered.  It sounded kind of like someone who has had throat cancer and was using one of those electrical devices you hold to your neck so you can speak.

I got a call from this number on my cell phone.  I called the number  back and a man with an altered voice said he was from the UPS office and asked me my name.  He then said that he had a package to deliver to me...I said OK...kind of questioning like- and he then said can I call you back and hung up......

They called my elderly mom and told her UPS was delivering a COD package. (What is this 1984?). I decided to call back. I played Mystery Science Theatre 3000 on their voicemail and got a call back! The jamacian guy (who sounded like he eats dirt) told me he was from UPS. I told him he wasn't and he told me to "go [***] a mother". He probably drives a cab.

I received a call from this number today on my company cell phone. Got to remember - Called ID! It said Jamaica. Guy told me he was with UPS and had a package for me. I said ok and he proceeds to tell me that it is a check and a car. I started laughing. The Guy on the phone said he wasn't joking. So I asked who he was with again and then asked him for his name. He hung up after that.

I got a call from this number. It was a man talking in an altered voice. He also told me that they were going to deliver a cashier's check and a brand new mercedes benz to my house. I decided to go along with it, only I turned the tables on him. I told him that I bought a car that should have been delivered today and asked where it was. I told him that I was going to send him a check for the car. I got a Texas P.O. box address, city, and zip code from him. I then told him thank you for your information and hung up. I gave this information to the local Sheriff's department. It amazes me that this guy has been doing this for so long with the SAME number. Why has he not been caught yet?

    The caller is in Jamaica.
That is not part of the USA.
    Your sheriff cannot help you.

DO NOT CALL THAT NUMBER BACK!

    1) The call was from a scammer, trying to entice you to send money
    2) If you return the call, it will cost you money!  (Keep reading)
    3) The 876 (Jamaica) prefix is VERY frequently used by scammers, and WILL cost you money if you call it back.

Some area codes are not toll-free numbers and calls from any other area code are billed at international long distance rates.

Some curious people return the call and will immediately be charged $19.95 for an international call fee and an additional $9-per-minute charge, according to a news release from the BBB.

I just received a call yesterday from the guy and he told me he worked for UPS and he was going to deliver $200,000.00 and a car once I sent him $200.00...I was caught off guard and then realized I was being scammed!!!  I told him to never call me again and reported the number to the Better Business Bureau because he mentioned UPS.  I guess there are poor people out there that believe him that's why he keeps calling using the same number...he will probably never get caught!!

Um ... what did you expect the BBB to do with your report, since the perp is in Jamaica?
Did you expect some kind of complaint to be filed with UPS?

Don't fall for this scam.  I was driving at the time.  Caller wants you to pull over (your safety is important to them.  The caller will make it sound very legit by giving you a confirmation and priority number.  Wants you to go to a nearby Wal-mart or grocery store and their get a voucher.  PCH does not call winners.

Answered, as I saw from Jamaica. Caller said, in an altered voice, that he was from UPS. I stopped him there and told him I believe he has the wrong number. He said "B*tch" and hung up.

Caller tried to reach me twice.  I don't answer calls from Jamaica.  Then I researched the number and after seeing all of the info on scams spread across UPS, PCH, free Mercedez Benz, etc, I am glad I didn't bother to answer.

I had the same thing, a man with a disguised voice called and said he was with UPS.  I told him his number said Jamaica on my caller ID so I knew he wasn't from Jamaica.  He called my work cell phone and when I then proceeded to tell him I was in law enforcement, he hung up.  Obvious scam

Got this call this morning before 8 am - which already made me suspicious.

Said he was from UPS and before he could get to the punchline someone else got on the phone and yelled at him and the call was disconnected.

The guy had a very distinct tone -- I teach and he spoke with a great deal of pausing like he was supposed to have it rehearsed but didn't quite remember what to say similar to many of my special education students when they are trying very hard to give a presentation.

Like many who received the call, this digitally-altered voice of a man who sounded more electronic said that I had won a million dollars through Publishers Clearing House and he was from UPS asking if I would be at home today to accept delivery of my winning. He even said that my winning was legitimate. Fortunately for me, I was driving to an appointment at the time and told the guy that I will call him back when I'm able to. When I got home, I went to this site to check...I'm glad I didn't call back...I knew that it was too good to be true.

I received this same call around Christmas time 2015. Caller said he was from UPS close to where my phone number is connected to.  He said I had a package from Publishers Clearing House.  I immediately knew it was a scam so I told him in a nice voice, no thank you.  He called my a [***] and said every woman I know named Tracey is a [***].  Then he hung up.  I told my husband about it and he he called the guy back.  My husband played along with his spiel but this time the man was from a different town.  My husband asked if he was the same man that called me a few minutes before and called me a [***].  The man called my husband a few not nice words and then told my husband he was in our back yard right now and was going to go get somebody.  They had a few more choice words I won't repeat, then I said Merry Christmas and we hung up.  I wish they could catch this guy so he'll quit scamming people.
