I just received a call on my cell phone from 876-868-5103...the guy said he was from Publisher"s Clearing House and that UPS would be delivering some paperwork today and that I had won a car.  I was at work and did not have a good signal, plus the guy had a heavy accent and I could not understand him very well.  I disconnected the call.  I googled this number and realized it was from Jamaica.  He called back, but I did not answer. Blocked that number.

I didn't take the call but listened to the message.  It was "Mr. Peterson" from "PUBLISHING" Clearing House (listened carefully and he did NOT say "PUBLISHER'S" Clearing House.  Of course I won a lot of money and a car and need to call him back today.  Definitely not going to call as this is an obvious scam.  First of all "Publishing Clearing House" is not "Publisher's Clearing House" and the real Publisher's Clearing House likes to award this type of prize in person... whole 'prize patrol' surprise visit, etc.  I'm still waiting for one of those.

The number appeared and listed Jamaica .. Male with a heavy accent said he was a UPS driver with a package from Publishers Clearing House and would I be home.  When I asked about a UPS driver from Jamaica, he said no he was not and hung up.  Received a second call and could hear him in the background speaking to another woman telling her to contact his manager to confirm something about her receiving a certified check.

Rcvd call from this nbr on my unlisted work cell phone.  Talked like he had marbles in his mouth and asked me if I remembered signing up for Publishers Clearing House, and when I said no, and asked his name he hung up.

Heavily accented man stated he was from publishers clearing house and that I had won a car. Wanted to know if I was home so they could deliver the car. When I asked more specific questions and told them I wanted to talk to a supervisor they hung up on me!

Just got same call, heavy accent, sounded like bad connection - voice was actually very creepy, I thought it was some old drunk guy. When I asked him to repeat what he said and he said Publish(garbled) Clearing House, I just started laughing. Then I hung up and Googled the number - and here I am! He was very creepy-sounding.

Yep, got called today. Guy wasn't very accented but was clearly talking slowly n trying to over pronounce words ( like red eyes commercial guy). Also after every sentence he said "ok?". I waited thru the call long enough to hear he's from publisher's clearing house and I will be receiving a cashiers check later today.  Now I have signed up for PCH but haven't used my cell number nor have I changed my address yet since I moved.

DO NOT CALL THAT NUMBER BACK!

    1) The call was from a scammer, trying to entice you to send money
    2) If you return the call, it will cost you money!  (Keep reading)
    3) The 876 (Jamaica) prefix is VERY frequently used by scammers, and WILL cost you money if you call it back.

Some area codes are not toll-free numbers and calls from any other area code are billed at international long distance rates.

Some curious people return the call and will immediately be charged $19.95 for an international call fee and an additional $9-per-minute charge, according to a news release from the BBB.

Here is a list of some area codes that will be billed as international calls:

    242- Bahamas    441 – Bermuda    784 – St. Vincent & Grenadines
    246 – Barbados    473 – Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique    809, 829, 849 – Dominican Republic
    264 – Anguilla    649 – Turks and Caicos    868 – Trinidad and Tobago
    268 – Antigua    664 – Montserrat    876 – Jamaica
    284 – British Virgin Islands    758 – St Lucia    869 – St. Kitts & Nevis
    345 – Cayman Islands    767 – Dominica

I got a call from this guy (I assume it was a guy - couldn't tell you what language he spoke) while I was at work. I could not make out a single word he was saying. It was like he was way too close to the microphone and there was a lot of static. I'm not really sure it was actually a person. Could have been one of those "calls from beyond" where you think you got a call from a dead relative or something. Or one of the worst EVP's ever. Seriously, I've never heard a connection that bad. Finally, he hung up on me. Now that I know it's some scam, I know to block the number.

Someone from the number 876-453-2327 texted me "Can I call you later?". I did not recognize the number so I asked who is this? They did not text back but immediately called me. I did not answer. A few minutes later I got another call and I just blocked the number. Looked up the number it is from Jamaica. Assuming a scam of some sort.
