My previous employer called me to let me know that someone called me from 877-216-6040 five minutes ago. I do not have a clue to who it may be.

I just got a call at work about an hour ago and before i call this number back i want to know if it's a fraud. Anyone have any ideas??

I received a call from this number today. when I called them back, they had my first and last name, informed me they received my file from a client. When they went on to verify the information they had
"about me" it was incorrect. They wanted my info and I told them if a company sent it to them, then they should have it correct. The worst part is they didn't believe me, but I informed them I had my Identity stolen a couple years back and thought it was cleared up. The address they had was in Florida and I have never lived out of Iowa. I got so frustrated with them because they weren't listening that I informed them I am filing bankruptcy and they can speak to my attorney if they can get the correct info. (when I say info I am talking about ssn, date of birth, address, etc). I told them if I received any further calls from them in regards to this matter, I would file a harassment complaint with my attorney since this clearly wasn't my debt. They told me they are looking for the person to try and prevent a warrant going out for their arrest.  I told them if they send someone after me, if they figure out it truly is me, they better bring all identifying info with them because I have nothing in my name that could put me in jail.

So just watch out...they give you more info without requesting info from them.

This is a scam company!  Do not mess with them.  They are calling themselves Regional Credit Solutions.  They are abusive and harrassing.  They call everyone they can trying to reach you including people not related to you.  They say there is a claim against you.  they say they are filing a claim against you and you have to make a payment on some unpaid loan for an outrageous amount today.  Their practices go against every law set byt the Federal Trade Commission.  Call your local attorney general.  Put a fraud alert on your credit.  Call the Social Security office and inform them that your SS # has been compromised.  DO NOT PAY ANYTHING TO THESE PEOPLE.  They are required by law to send you something in writing, they refuse to do so.  They only want money and your information.  They can not sue you without you being officially informed. TOTAL SCAM. They called and left a Voice Mail threatening litigation. Unfortunately for them, I went to law school...

This company used to be called National Credit Works.  It is now Regional Credit Solutions.  Their address is 4490 Holland Office Park, Suite 103, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23452.  Send them a cease and desist letter, however DO NOT INCLUDE ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION.  Do not even include your return address.  You can find a sample at the following website:

This is a debt collector who has MANY complaints on the web.  They repeatedly harass via telephone calling from several different numbers.  They refuse to give out any legit info, trying to get you to give them info first.
I wouldn't mess with them, send them a cease & desist letter according to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, which they repeatedly violate.
I told them not to call me again, if they called one more time, I was going to report them.  I hung up & the phone rang & a smarty pants on the other end said, "Does this count as 1 more time?"  I told her I was reporting them.  They are very immature, not professional at all.

They are calling me. I have talked to 2 reps and I asked for the address for a cease and desist letter, they refuse to give it to me. They have even called my parents. Thank you for the address, I will be sending them a letter ASAP.

These people arre collecting for a company called Gateway Holdings, they are not allowed to do business yet this place keeps calling me. Im having my attorney look for bonding and insurance for them. And then we are going after 1500.00 per call

RCS is a scam company

I just received a call from this number. The number did not come up on Caller ID, so I let it go to voicemail. The message was from one "Russell" from RCS who claimed I had "a pending file in his office," and that I should or my attorney should contact him.

Could Joe who went to law school who posted above please give some insight on just what exactly I should do? I have half a mind to call him back, but I don't want to give the "company" any ammunition by acknowledging the call. This is the first time I received a message from "RCS." I have received no notice from any party about a debt owed in my name. I would think there are channels that any party looking to collect a debt must go through before a "collection agency" begins to call the other party. The fact that the person gave his name, number and the company name (not to mention his extension) could make a person think this is legit. JRC, please post the outcome of your situation.

i got a call from this people they left a message on my voice mail, the gentleman by the name of mr. Amad stated that i had a civil claim pending against me and that i needed too contact him as soon as possible his number was 877-216-6040 ext. 453. How do i stop them from calling me if i dont owe them anything. ??

Got a VM on my cell phone 7:00pm last night 4/9/12 from someone stating they are calling from Regional Credit Solutions re: file number(but left no file number). Claims they have left several msgs(first msg ever recv) and it's imperative that me or my attorney call them back immed. to prevent further litigation. Number that was on caller ID was 757-777-6040. Not sure if I should even acknowlege the call or wait and see if they call again, since reading the above posts

this company continues to call, 1st under the name of ncw and now regional credit solutions. I filed for bankruptcy over 4 years ago and everything should be settled. most recent voice mail left today said that they have spoken to my mother about this matter.  I work for a major bank and definitely know not to give my acct information by phone to anyone that calls.  I am also going to call my phone co and have them block this number.

I got a call from this number didn't answer it because I am screening all calls since that huge scam last year, and I look up their numbers, I am in shock, yet not,  I will not call them Thanks for the heads up,

this number keeps calling my work even after they have told them not to call. i have even told them to quit calling my place of work

This lady at ext 441, release information on people voicemail, and if I understood her correctly, she gave out this person last 4 of her social security number! I told her to slow down so someone could understand her correctly, asked for a supervisor to David, that would not release what town or state he was from, and then he hung up, I called back he said (I am the nicest one here and you will be disappointed if I give you to another person, cause he is meaner that me) Then Edward Stanley got on the phone, said I need to get a job and a life! And you guys are not rude and they need to get someone to discuss cases that are not giving others personal information to!

I just spoke to my attorney. He is sending them a cease and desist letter. Thanks to someone else from above I was able to get their address. When I attempted to get their address, they actually hung up no me. Although they will be ordered not to call, it appears that this company ignores federal law and continues to attempt to contact you.

This company called me about a month ago stating that I owed $320 for a loan that I had already paid.   When I ignored their endless voicemails, they called my mother and told her that I would be arrested if I did not make the payment.   My mother unknowingly sent them $320 via Western Union.   They sent me an alleged PIF letter, and all was well.   A month later I get a call from the same company stating that I owe for the same loan.   Mr Barnes, Gloria Irwine or whoever I spoke with told me that I had two accounts, and the second one needed to be paid.  I had to make sure I understood what they were saying so I repeated to them that I had taken out two loans, from the same company on the same date.  They replied yes.  I said okay, and the supervisor (I didn't catch his name) said ok what?  I told him that I know I only had one loan with this company, so I was not going to argue with thim.    He hung up in my face.   These people are rude, tactless, and they need to be shut down.   That is why I'm making it my mission to post on every board I can to expose these  legal loan sharks.    I believe that if enough people ban together, we can file a class action suit against these crooks, because their practices are unethical and they are breaking many of the FDCP's rules including:  harrassment and abuse and false and misleading representations.
