I got a call from 877-218 0169 on 05/29/08 describing themselves as FS Lending.  It was very much like a call the day before from "Fortess Security" at a different number.  FS Lending offered a cash advance and an auto loan.  Fortress offered a VISA card.  I called Fortress at the 888 number they left on my machine to tell them the number was on "do not call."  As soon as I told the foreigner on the other end of the line I was not requesting a loan approval, he hung up.  I have reported the firm to the TN Dept. of Consumer Affairs.  I have been on the do not call registry since it began and hope to slam these suckers as hard as I can.  I have not yet attempted to contact them at the address shown in these postings.

I had the same experience as everybody hear however; I can say this to add to the string... I never got a solicitation from a 1-800 number on my cell until I got Direct TV... now getting the call from the slime bolls doesn’t really bother me, but knowing that Direct TV sold my information to god knows how many con artist makes me really mad!!! Are they so hard up for cash that they need to do business with criminals? Its bad enough that I give them money every month and if you get a problem you call in and get the Philippines were the either cant understands me or they just don’t give a rats a** about your problems.
I’m not the type of person that gets on a rant but I just wander how many people hear are DTV customers. If so than the problem is not the jerk calling you it’s who is selling your personal info so you get the jerk calling you! This practice needs to stop.

I too wanted to connect to Direct TV..but I never did, but ever since that day I've been getting phone calls from this number. It's safe to say that it's DTV. The first time someone called me from this number he was so WEIRD and lost and kept pausing every 10 seconds. Like he didn't know what the hell he was saying. I hung up..it also sounded like he didn't know a word of English.

now I am getting phone calls at the same TIME every freaking day with a pre-recorded man saying if I want an auto loan or something to that nature. It's annoying and I haven't been getting the number 9 option to opt out. Pfft, like they'd stop anyway.

Scumbags. >:(

Here are links to the Better Business Bureau complaint page and to the FTC "Do Not Call" (DNC) registry complaint page.  COMPLAIN!  Enter EDebitPay, LLC as the firm and you will reach the California office of the BBB to complain.  It will verify the address of the firm as 15165 Ventura Blvd., Suit 200, Sherman Oaks, CA.  When asked to identify the business also give the name they used on the phone as well as the call back number they provided.  The FTC site only logs complaints, no guarantee of follow-up. You can check the web for your state government's consumer affairs department.  You may wish to contact any local TV stations that do segments on bad businesses.  You can fax a complaint and a cease and desist notice to the EDebitPay fax number at 818-487-0675.  It worked as of 05/30/2008.  Apparently EDebitPay, LLC has gone from ripping people off on the web to doing it on the phone (based on reading the FTC suit link posted on this site).

Do not be deterred by a notice there is a problem with the security certificate for the FTC DNC complaint site.  It is still legitimate.

Call received 7:35 p.m. on Friday, June 6, 2008.  Female voice on what appeared to be automated call.  Gave loan sales pitch and then said if you want to be taken off our calling list enter 9 - that was done and voice gave follow-on pitch for a loan not to be missed but if you insist on being taken off calling list enter 1 - that was done and voice said your number has been removed from our calling list.  After this call concerned about the possibility of phone scam identity theft because of something that had been received in an e-mail warning of this.

Just got a call from them while in the shower.   I deleted the message after hearing the "cash advance of $1500."   Will report them to donotcall.gov for what that's worth.

i was getting tons of calls from another number that'd call me every 20 minutes starting at 6am! when i called them back, i asked them who they were, etc & they said they were usa global & i signed up to borrow money & would i like to fix my credit. i told them to take me off their phone list, & supposedly they did, but now i'm getting phone calls from the 877-218-0169 number every 20 minutes starting at 6am again! but this time if i try to call them back, i get a fast disconnected signal. i bet its the same company with multiple numbers trying to harass us.

Have called my cell phone regularly the past week calling themselves the "Cash Advance Hot Line".  Each call costs me $0.12.  They are in violation of California law, which requires that every auto-dialed call be started by a human, not a recording.  Have just registered with the Do Not Call government site.  Hope that that works.
