1-877-221-22885 is being used by the Nor-Don Collection Agency at 325 Millner Ave., Suite 1100, Scarborough Ont. in Canada. From all reports, they are a particularily nasty bunch.

They are a real classy lot, too. Today I recieved an "urgent" request, scribbled on an old recipe card, no less.

Claims money owed for "driving" in Canada several years ago.  Not been in Canada!  Claims have photo of me driving - but will not send copy.  Claims will hurt my credit report if I don't pay.

I have dealt with NorDon for quite some time due to student Loans. They are very aggressive and threatening. I have been making payments of $300 per month for about 18 months. I have repeatedely asked them for statements or receipts and have never received a thing. The only time I get any kind of balance is if I don't send them post-dated cheques. Then they send a threatening letter that shows the amount owing! I've heard that all student loans currently with private collection agencies will be going back to the government (CRA). Dealing with the Canada revenue Agency has to be better then these darn collection agencies!

I received so many calls from this collection agency. I have paid out my dues for Student loans (late but with interest) and they are still calling me for what i don't know.

Yeah these buggers are pretty persistent.  I will not talk with anyone else in their company with the exception of an extremely polite non-nasty person rep there.  As I have her direct line and know her extension, I will only deal with her regarding my student loan.  I don't know what they hope to accomplish being nasty is SUPPOSED TO BE against the standards of Collection Agencies (but then again, who is policing them regarding their methods???) I have heard of a couple of people who due to persistent calling have either 1) committed suicide or 2)had to go under a physicians care due to the stress.  I hope that what Debbie said is true and that all outstanding loans will be dealt with by CRA only.

Hi, can you post the name and extension of the person who is being nice to you? I believe collectors should get a bonus if they succeed collecting the money. Being nice, it's the way to go!

Many years ago I had Nor Don calling me and I felt like driving my car off a cliff.  I finally paid it off but the caller was rude and threatening.

I've had them call me at work and when they couldn't get a hold of me they called my boss.  My boss just told them that he wasn't my father and they should call me and not him and hung up on them.  So they called him again and they told him he would be responsible if they didn't get a hold of me.  He just laughed, hung up on them and had the telephone guy from our IT department completely block that number from dialing in.  I'm glad they don't have my house number.

They now call and say they are calling on behalf of the Canadian government!  I think this is misrepresentation and the gov't should take action

i got a call from them for a student loan that was long ago paid.  i am sure they don't have the right to call me.  the student loans have been handed over to the government and no agency can call you.  i am not sure if they had my file from year 2003 and are calling to collect the money now.  they claim they couldn't get hold of me since then.  but i am living in the same address and my phone number is the same.  and the loan was paid off in 2006.  i have a feeling this is a scam (since i checked their number on nor-dan http://www.ncn.ca/ncn_contact_us.html but they don't have this 877 number listed.)

They left a message saying it was urgent that the call be returned but when they said who the message was for it wasn't even my name!!

Nordon Collection Agency is the most annoying company ever, will not give the amount you owe very rude and ignorant. There's just no dealing with this company. Revenue Canada deals with this company for student loans but couldn't they choose a better company to deal with screen my calls now and just won't answer even revenue canada won't give the amount.

Call here all the time student loans... the lady is a complete jerk!  As far as I knew, the loan was taken care of, yet they claim that there is another loan that was separate from the main one (a little shady to me!) and that it will hurt credit rating if it isn't paid off in one lump sum... then they were so nice to offer  to "apply" for a payment plan, provided I give them tax returns, expenses,  and every other aspect of my personal information (including SIN #)... I refused to be spoken to so disrespectfully, and I told her where she could go, and even offered to give her directions on how she could get there.  ;)

I just got a call from them, they were asking for my husband and refused to tell me who they were or what they wanted, the guy said "its a private matter and I can only deal with him unless he personally allows us to speak with you now you can take my name and number and have him call me back" so I told him that unless he told me what compagnie it was or what it was concerning that even if I took his name and number my husband would not call him back. STUPID PEOPLE!!! after I told him that he said ok bye and hung up lol oh well stop calling me dumb [***]

Yea I got a call from them and it wasn't even for my name. I think these people are scams to be honest. I personally owe on my student loans and I have never received a call from
them ever. If they don't give you the amount you owe thats not legal. I would be in touch with OSAP or whoever else and make it clear you won't deal with them.

These idiots are rude and annoying. I'm not a student, don't owe any loan of any sort and they keep leaving voicemails for a "Jennifer Braun". My voicemail clearly states my name, yet some rude woman leaves messages demanding I phone back.

First of all, they are dealing with the public and have absolutely no right to be rude.
Secondly, they are phoning the wrong number and are too stupid to figure it out.

I keep getting called by this number but I never pick it up. If I don't know who it is I don't answer the phone - if it's important they'll leave a message and I'll call 'em back. But thanks to the forum I know who it is. My thing is that, I am a student, but I don't have a student loan with the government! And I'm not late on any payments so why are they calling me??
