Yea, I have no idea what they could want with me?  This time they were clever, and had a "locator" call me first to give me this number. This is a scam!  Do not call this number!

They have been calling my cell but I've been out of the country, I live in a high rise building with over 1000 people and a neighbor whom I've never met said that someone called her home and said they had legal papers they needed to deliver to me and wanted to confirm my address (Ian address I've lived at for almost 20 years!!). So now they reach out to people you don't know! I filed a report with the Attorney General's office in New York (a friend in the DA's office told me to do that). I also have a police precent down the block so I also reported the issue there. The FBI has a site where you can log the complaint - http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx. The phone number left for me was 877-224-5416. This is a scam for sure but in NYC this kind of stuff won't fly so I welcome the visit....and I'll make sure the police are there.  If you have a case in NYC you definitely know the address!

    ScamMeNot!
This number is for a debt collection service (payday loans) and they try to trick you by having a "process server" named "Melissa Brown" call you. She will tell you that both a civil lawsuit and criminal charges have been filed, and she needs to verify your name, address, and place of employment so she can serve you with a summons. "Melissa"  will then tell you that you have been "officially notified" before she hangs up on you. I could hear other "process servers" in the background making the same calls to other people while I was on the phone with her. It sounded like a typical call center. Do not pay these scammers!!! The number left for me was 1-877-224-5416. I am waiting on my summons as we speak. I can't wait to let the judge hear the voicemails and phone recordings I have saved. I will be sure to let the judge know that the statute of limitations has passed, as well as detailing all of the FTC violations I have been keeping track of.

    ScamMeNot!
I just did some research on them and found that they have offices both in Texas, Ca, and Fl. and they go by CR Group. I called them back again and they told me what this was for. I dont want to go in to details on this forum but looks like this is not for a payday loan.

I did not leave the previous message above!!!!!!! I left the comment on May 16th 2014, but I did not leave the comment on May 20th!!!! The scammers are now so desperate they are logging on under ScamMeNot! to make it all look legit. It is not legit, they want you to believe that you are being sued and charges have been filed.......Do Not Fall For This Scam! I have reported this "CRG company" to the FTC, and my State Attorney office, and I reported them to my local sheriff's office. CRG......you have been officially notified!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then the collection agency should prove their claim.  In writing.  Per the FDCPA.  Interesting thought - but one that the scammers can't do - because they have no proof.

The reason people do this is becuase most credit reports are innacurate, lists that scam companies get by breaking into creditors data bases, as well as getting ahold of credit application information off of dummy websites and many different avenues including and not limited to ATM scanners.  The tactics that they use are completely unethical and the posts that are listed for the most part are accurate.  Please take some time and do your research before placing a judgemental post on this site. Also if you would've looked at the dates of the posts, you actually can see a trend on when these people attack the consumer.  Remember, this site is for consumor help and education.  NOT for unproductive ridicule and judgement. BE CAREFUL EVERYONE. SCREEN YOUR CALLS. SAVE YOUR VOICEMAILS AND KEEP VISITING 800NOTES.

I have found several videos of the admin for 800 notes and it is amazing to see them at work in there under wear sitting front of the tv with smoked filled room. As most collection agencies have access to searching people down, we have notice that there is a trend among those who are defiant against collection agencies. The trend is quite obvious, they are debtors that dont pay there bills and only look to find ways NOT to pay. Including using this website. You guys are very bios and only one sided.

BUSTED BUSTED BUSTED BUSTED BUSTED BUSTED. The stamp means nothing to us.

CCC is truly the scam. Credit consumer counselors is a joke. they charge a very large amount of money to assist people to settle there debts when in fact the consumer can do this on there own and save the money they would pay a CCC. 95% of the time consumer fall out of or drop out of the program because it is not successful.

I have found several videos of the CRG staff, and it is astonishing they get any work done between bong breaks and hackeysack games. The managers are all snorting lines off a grimy toilet seat, and people apply for promotions by dropping to their knees and getting graded on their fellatio. See there, I too can make up shameful stories about total strangers! When do I start work and where's my headset?

"There is a trend among those" who make bratty remarks against consumer defenders. "The trend is quite obvious", they are jailbirds and losers who don't obey their laws and look for any excuse to unjustly punish the weak and the distressed.

} You guys are very bios and only one sided.

No, I'm more CMOS, and at heart I'm really AmigaOS. I live in a world of three dimensions, whereas yours follows a single track and won't ever stop to consider that not all lenders are honest, not all debts are voluntary, and not all debt collection is justified.

} The stamp means nothing to us.

So don't get spiteful and don't talk about it. Whassamatta, don't like that red ink on all those bogus "scared debtor" posts? Would you like them in maroon or teal or saffron instead?
