- Nathan replies to Nathan| 1 replyThey are Monarch Recovery Management formerly Academy Collection Services "ACS"
They are scumbag collectors that break the rules. They have been fined by the FTC, they just keep changing their name. - RESPONE TO NATHAN replies to NathanI research this company they are not in the state of Pennsylvania this is a different company. They were nice when I spoke with them although I was unable to take care of my acct.
- lizzyThey called my father that if I didn't return the call they were going to arrest me.
- Caller: LEGAL DEPARTMENT
- Lier| 1 replyQuit making lies up! I was called never said anything like that and they were very nice when I called in. Dont understand why people have to make up lies when they owe money. I owe to but take responsibility not make things up to feel better about not paying. I told them I have no way of taking care of this right now and that was it. No threats! Even when companies try to handle things the right way they are pleaged by people like you.
- Kim| 1 replyThey just called my in-laws looking for me. When I called them back they told me that if I can't make at least a $500 payment today they will start taking 25% of my wages. I don't know what to do I'm a single mom and don't have the $500 nor can I afford for them to take 25% of my wages. What do I do?

- Compromise replies to KimCome up with a portion of the funds. I am sure they will be willing to work with you. But you have to be proactive and offer them something to work with
- CallingmeatworkThey called my job and threaten to serve me under a name I had over 20 years ago. I am married and they haven't even bothered to find me with my married name. My HR Dept has informed them not to call this job and that the name they are looking for doesn't work there, they keep calling. I've filed a police report on them and I have the person name and everything. That is against the law.

- Unsure| 5 repliesI got a call from a Mrs/Ms Bleau from Monarch Management telling me that I opened a credit card in 07 and that I was being sued/served. I informed the lady that I had no idea what she was talking about. She called me by my name I havent had in years and I myself am married, they did not call me by my married name. She proceeded to inform me that a summons to go to court was sent to me 45 days ago to my old and current address, which I have not received. Not to mention I was told from many people that if you are summoned to court you are supposed to receive that from a Sheriff who delivers it in person. She then explained to me that I would have to pay $1,000 for court cost plus attorney fees not including my own and with the debt I owe plus interest and other fees I was looking at about $5,500. She asked if I would be able to pay 25% so she could put a stop to going to court and I informed her I did not have that kind of money. Again she asked if I could pay $771.19, I told her I had no money like that lying around, i mean who would? She then asked how much money do I have in my account. Very odd question for someone to ask, so I told her $50, she wanted my $50 right then an there. She asked if I had a check book which I responded yes but I did not have on me, and she asked if I knew my account number and routing number. I explained to her that I did not know my account number and routing number and she then asked me If there was any around who could loan me money to pay off my debt. I told her NO, everyone around me is in debt, I said I may be able to get a loan from the bank. She asked me "Would the bank even give you a loan?" with a very snarky tone. I told her I wasnt sure but it would be in my husbands name and he is on deployment right now so its not a sure thing. She then asked me, Where my husband was, what time is it over there, and if we had anything we owned together. I changed the subject, conversation got a little personal, and told her I would need to contact my husband first. She said she understood and I only had 3 hrs to do so. Obviously when someone is deployed you cannot get ahold of them right away, she called back and left a message saying that she was going to proceed with the court summons because I did not contact her and that it was being sent out the next day in the morning. The next afternoon I get another message from her stating that "Upon further investigation that I DO have the ASSETS to take care of this matter" and that she was going to send out the court summons the next day, AGAIN, in the morning. No goodbye, no have a nice day, just hung up. I did receive another UNKNOWN call yesterday, but no message was left. The number I was given was 877-235-0836 Ext. 105. Im thinking its a scam, until I receive something written that an attorney can look at, I am not paying a dime.

- Helper replies to Unsure| 1 replyDon't pay them anything until they validate you legitimately owe this debt! This is your right under the FDCPA and they have five days to respond.

- Marathon Gal replies to UnsureSounds like even if all the info is sent to you... you're just broke and can't pay. I get it. You're playing the game the right way. We don't have to pay- l'm with you, Sister. I've been running from debt for years. I've been called multiple times at work- Ha!, I tell the people to lie and say I don't work there. If you research debt you'll see all kinds of ways to avoid paying. With the economy all messed up why should WE be responsible if the government isn't? I want MY piece of the pie. If I paid $200 for a coat in 2008 I don't care about their interest. I'M NOT PAYING A DIME OVER $200 IF ANYTHING! They gave me credit- I didn't force them
- Jen replies to LierIt's liar, not lier and plagued, not pleaged. And any respectable debt collection company knows that it is indeed illegal to make any kind of threat about being arrested. For the caller id to state "legal department" is a dead give away that it is NOT legal.
- Marathon Gal replies to NathanDon't pay! If you go to enough banks you'll find some more people to give you credit. Car dealers take chances too so you can get a car for a bit for they come get it. So what if I can't pay? Want to sue me- FIND ME!! It's all a game and if you can get over on the banks DO IT! There's lots of money out there and if you're smart you can get your hands on it. They think they can just charge interest and make money off ME? I don't play that. The way I see it, in the end if I die owing thousands of dollars let my grandkids deal with it. I'm dead. Am I right? You know it.
- Jen replies to Unsure| 1 replyIt is a SCAM! Do not pay them one dime. Make them send you a certified letter of who the original debt was owed to, their company name and address and their attorney's name and ID number. Bet they hang up on you and leave you alone
- Marathon Gal replies to JenI got those letters. So? Ha! don't let the corporate monster win. Don't pay ANYTHING. They can't go after ALL of us. If we collectively stop paying our bills what can they do, really?
