Called yesterday night, quite late.

My landline is an unlisted number and yet the caller will only state my name , then hang up... I'd like to know who this is before I pick up.

i called back and it seems to be about some sort of collection for someone that does not even live here.

This number called (caller-ID) and when my wife answered the said her name,to which she answered "Hello?"  Finally, she hung up on the caller.

Called Sunday night around 7 PM.  No one would answer when I said "hello".  I called the number back only to be put on hold by a recording so I hung up.

Got a call from them yesterday. kept saying stuff and asking stupid questions.

calling repeatedly. when I answer nobody is there. when I don't answer they ask for somebody that used to have this cell number years ago.

I'm thinking some low budget collector has a screwed up phone system.

Called on Fri PM, requested to speak to wife, called her by name wanted last four of SSN to verify.  Refused, stated they had the SSN just need to verify last four, reportedly calling on behalf of "Palasades" (info reveals they are less than upfront credit collection agency?).  Called 3 more times, ignored once, answered next but no one would respond.  Wife called back was asked for last four of SSN and wanted to know if she had lived at an address (close to one we lived at 29 yrs ago).  Told them they had the wrong person.  Called again on Sat @ 8:30, pretty much the same line, husband told them they could not speak with wife and they had the wrong info.  Hung up!

Just got a call on my work line asking for my husband.  I said to them that this was a work # to remove it from the list and she said that it was a collection call and stated there was a repo in 1996 for a Chrysler in the amount of 6081.00.  My husband never bought a Chrysler and no such info has ever turned up on any of his credit reports. When I asked how come it wasn't on any of the credit reports, they said it probably just went into collection. I said from 1996???  She said is there another # I can take down as a contact #, and when I began to offer her my husband's ex-wife's number, she gave me her name and # and hung up...like someone is really going to willingly call a collector back?  Sounds phishy to me.

Received a call this morning.  Answering machine picked it up.  Its was for someone calling my husband from something like Vanwer Credit Corp.  I could not make out the name clearly.  Mt husband has a clear credit report and hasn't had a credit card for at least 13 years.  Well beyond the statute of limitations for our state (5 years).

Been recieving calls from these slim balls since July Re: a debt owed by my father who is in a nursing home 75 miles from here. Gave them contact info for Dad's lawyer. They just keep calling. Usually some foreigner with a lot of background noise that sounds like they are calling from a bar. They have never sent any written notice to any address of Dad's nor contacted they lawyer. They had 5 working days from first contact (when I gave them lawyers info) to send written notice. That puts them in violation of both federal and state law.

Do not talk to these people. Google them and find out what the word bottom feeders really means.

They called at 8:30 pm. I called back to see what the company was, and someone named Josh answered. I was so flabbergasted that someone answered instead of a machine, that I hung up on him.

this person called me at 11:00 in the morning, wanting to know my name and if i had lived at a particular address.  before i answered i asked who they were and why they were calling...they gave me a line of b.s. that they could not say who they were until i identified myself with my address and last four digits of my ss number.  they said it was against federal regulations for them to tell me why they were calling...that is the dumbest thing i have ever heard and i told them that...i told him did he really think i was stupid enough to give a perfect stranger the last four digits of my ss number....i ended by hanging up on him.  i then did star 69 on the phone and got the number below that they were calling from.  when i called there i got a woman who would only tell me the name of the company, vanrew corp. and that they were located in florida...she wouldn't give me the actual address so i could write them and she wouldn't tell me the line of business they were in...she was going to give me another phone number to call for that info...the whole thing sounded like some kind of a scam to me.

I called back this number and a guy answered I asked him to stop calling me, and when I pick up you don't say anything, I am sick and tired of this every day, he apoligized and asked for this person who has the same last name as me, I told him I do not know anyone with that name he then asked if I lived at, and rattled off my address I said that is my address, he asked if the last 4 digits of my ss were, then he rattled off  4 digits, I told him that those are not my numbers, he said someone with this name then has been using my telephone number and address, so I asked, using it for what, he told me, insurance, and they were late on thier payment, I told him I do not know this person and would appreciate it he would stop calling me, he said he would make that change in thier system apoligized again and told me I will not here from them again. I really hope not, I have a list of about 10 numbers from people that keep calling day after day, night after night. and when I answer they don't say anything.

Phone rings, answer, background noise, then they hang up. *69 shows 1-877-237-1836. They do this all the time. I have a word for them, "Terrorist!" If any of you work for whoever these scum are, tell them to try talking to people instead of hanging up. Otherwise you are just terrorist low lifes who need their phones removed, a big fine, andl maybe a few years in a south american penal colony.

I keep getting phone calls from these people. I don't answer, but I call them on another phone and its a different person every time.
I wish they would stop calling me. Its annoying.

Funny, I got a similar call on 1/12/09. I did not answer and someone gave me the message this morning 1/13/09. I decided to look the number up and I found these comments posted. Someone must be paying for this 877-237-1836 and they should be held resonsible for disrupting people's lives. I don't owe anyone money, so naturally this raised concern.
This looks like a classic case of the old "phone scam". Please reply to this comment if you track this person or persons down and want to pursue some legal action. I would gladly come forward. I wish that I had the time to track these screwballs down myself.
