i got a call from them and they are legal investigators i guess, they are a network of attorneys fom buffalo

these people called my mother in law's house looking for my husband's ex wife. have all the right info about the area you live in. I called the 877-252-0491 # back today and asked for the extension 110 that they left on the message. A VERY RUDE man answered and said "you will have to leave a message" when I asked if I could ask him a question he told me, in a very rude way, that they were closed and quickly transferred me. I did not leave a message at this extension and I quickly called back and received a generic voice mail, then called back again and the same a**hole answered and screamed at me that they were closed and I tried to ask him if I could ask a question so I knew which message to leave and he continued to scream at me and then hung up on me.

Have left numerous message for me on my work voicemail; very rude. Marvel & Associates.  A collection agency.  What they do not understand is pursuant to the fair debt collection act they cannot contact you at your place of employment and leaving harassing messages and placing harassing calls is not going to get them any where except reported to (FTC)Federal Trade Commission

you're clueless.... collection agency? You owe so much money you assume it is a collection ageny? They are not I assure you. It is a law firm.

there are no records of this company in amherst ny or buffalo ny as being a law firm, believe me i checked them out. i reported them to the federal trade commission and the ny attorny general's office. they are dealing with the wrong person when they mess with me.

These guys called and claimed to be the district attoney from Iowa and said they were coming to arrest my husband and detain him out of state because we defaulted on a cash store loan. They are very abusive and threatening.

Marvel and Ass.? You mean like MARVEL COMIC BOOKS?? These guys are most certainly a bunch of characters, and they say things you would only hear in cartoon world. This must be a joke. Just another collection agency hiding behind an attorney who rented his name out!

I was just wondering if you made any head way if you found out who they really are or is they are scam artist.

These people have been calling me too and I have also spoken with the very rude man.  He keeps leaving detailed message about a man who owes money.  When I ask why my number is being called he says he doesn't have the time to waste explaining it to me.  I asked to talk with his supervisor and he told me he didn't have one.  I told him I was going to contact the attorney general, which I am doing. This man is leaving me messages that have nothing to do with me and won't even acknowledge my request to stop.  They are not lawyers.  They are investigators for the debt companies.  I know this, because of the messages Mark Seaware has left on my phone!

they are actually a scam company that is in now way associated with attorneys but have ripped off people on payday loans that they purchase for pennies on the dollar i checked they are not licensed in any state

if they call you again contact an attorney and sue them. do it dont talk about it- they are not licensed and they pretend to be police and lawyers any attorney worth his salt will sue them on contigency. also contact the federal trade commission, and attorney general and if they say they are police call the local police department they in the area they are calling from and tell them they are posing a police investigators then go to budd hibbs.com and report em

I ALMOST GOT SCAMMED BY THIS, IT KEPT ME UP HALF THE NIGHT WONDERING WHAT I DID WRONG BECAUSE THE MESSAGE I RECIEVED SAID HE (rick) WAS AN INVESTIGATOR AND I WAS BEING INVESTIGATED FOR A FELONY OUT OF GEM COUNTY. I CALLED THE NUMBER HE LEFT AND IT WAS MARVEL ASSOCIATES. CRYING, I CALLED A FRIEND WHO SHOWED ME THIS BLOG, I AM ASSUMING THEY GOT MY NUMBER OFF CRAIGSLIST IN THE RESUME SECTION.  DO NOT CONTACT THESE PEOPLE BACK REPORT THESE SCUM AND GET THEM STOPPED!

My husband is getting harrassing calls from this company.  They have called saying a warrant is going to be issued in Los Angeles for him writing bad checks.  We live in Las Vegas.  This supposed "loan" for 3$300 that he took out on 10-22-08, will now cost us over $3000 to fix because he supposedly wrote a bad check.  They should be coming after me too then because we have JOINT accounts.  I don't even let my husband have the checkbook!  Our banks have no record of a check being drawn out of our accounts that bounced.  We have proof that we were not in the state of California thanks to the help of the company we work for.  We called the better business bureau in NY and they have no record of this company.  They suggested we call the Attorney General of New York.  They will file a complaint against the company and also informed us that they have no Lawyer ID on file as this Marvel Associates.  I say you file a complaint as well so we can keep these people from trying to scam us out of our money.

No...they are a collection agency.  I assure you.  I have talked to the FTC and they have numerous complaints already filed against them for unfair debt collection practices, harassment, and numerous other things.

Investigator Mark Sehwar called me just over two weeks ago and told me that I had two weeks to pay my debt off in full or he was going to send the paper work to the County Court for defrauding a financial institution.  I told him that there was no way I was going to be able to make the payments in two weeks on what he wanted me to pay.  Which totals over 1600 dollars, even though before his collections bought the account it was just over 600 dollars that I owed.  I took out the payday loan from Cashnet USA in August of 2008, and I am aware of that and have full intentions of paying back my debt, but I am not in a financial position to pay this company 1600 + dollars right now and am struggling to pay my own bills and keep a roof over my head.  After calling me on one occasion, he then called my grandmother and told her that she needed to pay the bill for me and that she needed to help me with my debt.  And he told her the amount and that I had bounced a 1600 + dollar check.  He told her everything he should not have told anyone but myself.  I gave him information to take 200 out of my checking account but was unable to come up with that money as I had to pay my rent and so he then proceeded to try to take out the 1400 + that I was trying to come up with without calling me first to inform me that the other check had not gone through.  If he had,  I would have told him that the money was not going to be in there because I could not find a way to get that much in a short period of time.  I work 40+ hours a week and make 400 dollars a week take home, at which point I have to pay rent, and and my electric and gas bill as well as my car payment and have enough money for gas for me to get to and from work.  My husband is currently unemployed and so I do not have help from him in paying bills.  Investigator Sehwar proceeded to tell me this morning that he knows my husband and I both working and that he doesn't care that I had to pay rent to keep a roof over my head because all he cares about is getting paid by me so he gets paid by the company he works for.  I am extremely irritated with this man.  He is pushy, rude, and does not respect anyone.  He called my home at 6:30 in the morning on Monday 6/15/2009.  He thinks that because he is three hours ahead, he can call when ever he wants to because it is within the time frame for where he is at.  So, he is now giving me until 3pm EST today (6/17/2009) to call him back with full payment or he is going to send the paperwork to riverside `so fast that my head will spin` and those were his exact words.  He also told me that the day my husband spoke with him when he called that the judge was going to laugh because my husband cursed at him numerous times.  Well, that was because Investigator Sehwar would not let my husband speak and kept on cutting him off.  And at the end, Investigator Sehwar finally hung up on my husband because he did not want to hear anything else he had to say.  I do not know what to do about this person and am extremely irritated as well as worried that I am going to get arrested for what he is saying and that he is going to send this paperwork to the courts.  Two weeks ago was the first time I had heard from this company and this is what it has all been.  I also called him and asked him for his license number since he claims he is an investigator and he told me that he doesn't have one and that he isn't really an investigator and that he works for a bank, but when my husband talked to him and asked him the same thing he told my husband that it didn't matter and that he was an investigator and doesn't work for a bank and that he is an investigator that finds people and gets the money owed the company.  My husband asked for his license number and he told him that didn't matter.  I am, again as I said before, extremely concerned that this man is going to send paperwork to the courts and that I am going to be arrested.  I do not know what else to do at this point and I have no way of paying this debt back to him by 3pm EST today(6/17/2009).  Also, I took this loan out when I was living in Utah.  Not here in California.  After which I lost my job and was barely able to pay all of my bills and survive off of what the new job was paying me.  And after which my husband then lost his job and still has not been able to find work.  Investigator Sehwar also told me that I took the loan out in 2008 and my husband believes he told him 2007 but is not certain.

Mark Seware is no longer employed there, I talked to the manager who said he was let go. They assigned my file to a lady Sara stone, she seems normal so far

how do you call people a scam that are trying to collect the dbts that you owe that is partly why the econimy is the way it is because noone exept for a few honest people feel the necessity to repay....i as a honest tax paying man think that if you borrow money you shall repay it.....payday loans even as perdatory as they are you have to admit when oyu needed help you did get the funds to help you?

What a helpful post from yet another collector who thinks it'll help him make his quota by lecturing on the COMPLAINT board!  Gotta love it.
