Got a call from this # this morning, actually on my caller id is shows as 716-828-8986, but he says he is investing a civil matter for the firm of Jacobson & associates, and leave the 877-252-0617 as call back #. Possible a law firm, but he doesn't reference what its about. I need more than just "civil matter". If thay are calling about a collection, then they should just say so. I will wait for something in writing to come from them, then will send them a debt validation letter. When I google the 716 # It doesn't tie the # to Jacobson & Assoc, but I find advertisments looking for creditors, saying that they are collecting in Amhurst, NY, the "paper is payday loans". Well I am in AZ. I will wait for the mail from them.

Have gotten SEVERAL calls to my place of employment from this 877-252-0617 number. The person says, they are Mr. Duke, investigator for Jacobs and Associates. The secretary, who is not me and near me during the day, has been told the following things,"would I(me) like to make a statement to the local ___ county court" or "they would hate to have to send embarrassing paperwork to the place where I work." They are ruthless! I don't even know what it's about!!!!!!!

Call from 877-252-0617 x112 "Investigator Davis", she called my place of employment. I called them back on 716-828-8986.

She also would not give a physical address for this "Jacobson & Associates", and she claims they did not have a website. To date nothing has come in the mail either.

I read where they are the same outfit as "Marval and Associates":

Marval & Associates (posing as Jacob & Associates) My attorney traced the number. Looking at a $1000 from these idiots. Once again they violated the Fair debt act by contacting me after being notified not to call, and once again threatened criminal charges.The best part is, I recorded the message he left and the name he used was the same as the owner of Marval. I have already filed complaint and have case numbers. My attorney will be contacting the these authorties to update the cases.

Jacobs is a spin off of Marval they opened their new call center in October. They use scare tatics to shake down a payment. They have no ability to sue you or serve you anything but a line of garbage, same sad sad story same lame bunch of losers. If you pay them do it by secure method no check by phone or debit info they will abuse it. They will inflate your balance.
They have no licence to collect or even do business for that matter, once this joint has too many complaints they will simply fade away and open another agency.
And the saga continues.

I had a voicemail from this # when I came in this morning the caller id shows as 716-828-8986.  The lady said that she was Inspector Davis and that she was representing the firm of Jacobson & associates.  She left the 877-252-0617 as a call back number.  She didn't have a reference number or a docket number from court. She said she needed a statement from me regarding a legal matter.  I believe I should be getting something in the mail.  I am not sure what to do.  It looks like they left a message with someone else, because there was a sticky note on my desk with the same message.

Investigator Collins has called several times threating me with a criminal arrest warrent for an unpaid loan of $325.00. I have been harrassed by this company for over a month. Calling my office, cell number, husbands cell and so on. They claim to be Jacobs & Associates. Phone number is 877-252-0617. They will not give me any info as to what they are trying to collect on or an address or send me any documentation.

EVERYONE - I have done research on this phone #, and they are really a company called Marval and Associates, they just pose at these other companies, that seems to be there MO.

Google the company and you can find contact information in case you want to send them something in writing, like a letter requiring them to validate your debt.

Got a call from a Mark Damon this morning wanting to settle a payday loan debt that we didn't even take out.  We had filed a police report in August.  He said if we didn't pay this in one hour, that my husband would be charged with a felony.  My husband called and said bring it on.  Then he filed against them for threatening statements.  Our police said if was against the law for them to do this.  HE is calling THEM now.  These paydayloan places are making mistakes and wanting us to take care of them.  I DON'T THINK SO!!!!  Just hang up on these guys.

I do owe these people but instead of a nasty nasty message how about kill us with kindness Im cleaning my credit up and not filing bankrutcy but they are so mean I don't want to pay them !!

I also received a call from these people. On 12/16/2009 somebody called my cell phone looking for a "Mr. Sullivan". I told them that I didn't know who that was and hung up. Again this morning (12/18) they called and I ignored the call, so they left me a voicemail claiming that I had lied about who I am when their person called, and that I could look forward to facing up for my lies in Mariposa County, and that I am "impeding their investigation". He also said that they do not follow any "Do Not Call" list and had no idea who I thought I was dealing with. The number that they called on me was 716-828-8986 and this man was very, very rude. I am reporting them to the "Do Not Call" list, because I am on it.

Mark Damon aka Mark Sewar aka Frank Alexander is a low life collector that was fired from marval and now is employed with Jacobs ....all one in the same now they are planning on a 3rd call center in Buffalo. Rick Collins another Marval retread.
They can't  sue or serve you a warrant or any thing close to a crime.

Mark Damien 877-252-0617 is repeatedly calling my place of work making threats, he even got the number to one of my co-wokers home and called her making the threats about me to her!  He is unbelievable....he should be stopped.

This company keeps calling - Employee concerned does not work for us however they keep calling. We have called back numberious times however after 18 months they still do not get the point. The last opperator was rude and used profanity. She would not give me the correct spelling of the company.

I received a call from the same people that they were going to take me to corut but would not reference who original creditor was.  I hung up on them and then I received another call that they were taking me to court.  This firm is really gettin gon my nerves I am sending them a letter today to cease and desist with all calls unless they send something in writing do not call my job/cell again.

I received a call from them yesterday and talked with them today. They told me that they were collecting for a payday loan place. they said they were turning it over to the county and let them deal with it. They offered a settlement for me to pay $199.00 on a $700.00 debt. I wonder about this?

No one too particularly important. Unfortunately I have a fiduciary interest in this company for the next year. Who would have thought, a debt collector set up payment arrangements with a debtor to pay a settlement.
