NCO Financial - collectors.

I pay extra each month, to have my phone number unlisted.  I got a new phone number 8 months ago, I am getting swamped with these people calling my number, and the person they are looking to speak with, does not even live here!

Having your phone unlisted means your phone company agrees not to sell your number to telemarketers or list it publicly. I consider this to be a form of blackmail so I've always refused to have one. Even if it's unlisted, your 8-month old number may have been previously assigned to someone else and that someone may have had debts that have been sold on to third-party debt collectors who are now calling up to collect. Telemarketers can also inexpensively call each and every 10 billion possible phone numbers with a robodialer and your unlisted number obviously does not protect you against this type of intrusion. I see no advantage in paying extra for an unlisted number.

You may not see any need to have an unlisted number, but as for me, I do, since my ex husband was callng me several times a day, among others who have no business calling my phone.  Please understand, not everyone is like you, and your situation.  Your comment was not helpful, and you should not comment on someone you have no idea about!

I use a Digitone Call Blocker from Digitone Communications to block all unwanted caller's and never rings the phone.  You can block whole area codes or partial number by area code +prefix or using all ten digits.  Best investment i ever did to stop any and all unwanted calls.

Called business number, repeated "please continue to hold" every five seconds for a few minutes, then hung up on me.

Got a call on my cell phone for my Mother to talk to her about an important financial matter. BUT they were not at liberty to tell me nature of the matter.  I asked was this a collection call and was told she didn't know?  Told them I had POA and they wanted it faxed first.  I asked to speak with supervisor and was told I could after I sent over POA.  After demanding to speak with a supervisor as I would not send POA without knowing more about it was given to another person.  He tried to explain need for confidentiality and I explained need to know  and that I was very suspicious.  Transferred to yet another individual and by then saw these posts and said good bye.

BEWARE!!!

I got a letter from Transworld Systems Inc. stating that I owe $592.00 for Ct Colony Emergency  Physi.  They are giving me 30 to pay/or call to make payment schedule. Upon calling the first thing they want is my SS#. I said no, I don't have any affiliation with CT. Colony. They wanted my DOB. They told me to contact CT. Col, but had no number to call. I got it from the internet and I explained the situation. They put me on hold for 3 min. I hung up and called back and a message repeated that there was no mailbox set up. I am taking the letter to the police.

If you do not live in or had medical services performed Connecticut, you may have been "miss billed" or your identity was used by someone else.
If you did have medical service in Connecticut, or very close by, it is common for hospitals to source out service to local physicians and specialists. It could have been a true hands on medical procedure or as simple as the doctor who walks by your room and looks at your clipboard.
