Yes, it belongs to Humana Healthcare.  It is a number used to contact its employees.  As far as I know, it is not a telemarketing number.

Yes this is Humana.  They want to talk to people about your Humana Advantage plan.  They would like to send a rep. to talk to you about signing up for Humana insurance.  Not a sales call, but information.  Worth listening to if you need a supplement for Medicare.

Yes. 1-877-256-1640 is a number that Humana Licensed Sales Agents use for people to call them at.

The Agent should give you an extension. It will be a long number... usually 7 digits long.... as an example 112-XXXX (X's actually numbers).

If you do not have an extension the next agent available will take your call.

I dialed this number and they ask for a box number.  I don't know or have such number

I was given this number last week to call today to sign up for Humana plan changes

This is not supplemental this is advantage, it is sales and will try and enroll you.

The number is supposed to belong to Humana, but get this — I have Humana, but these guys called me on the number that I ever give out to anyone. In fact, any calls from it are “Private Number.” So why, when they have a correct number in my records and applications, be calling me on a different number?

There is no legitimate explanation for this — you see,  the master insurance program that farmed this out to Humana doesn’t even have this number. This is like the “How did you know that?” question in court cases. How indeed?

I called this number back because I got a text from them saying something about a account with them that someone was trying to get into and to fallow the link to see who it is but they didn't answer when I called and are not returning my text.

You will have to call a valid Humana phone number (from your membership card or from their official website) to speak with anyone there.
