This is the 2nd time I have been charged by my phone company for a long distance call from this number. They call themselves TRSCN CLRNG from Greenriver, Wy 307-815-9923. Something should be done about this type of harrassment. Its unfair that I should have to pay for a collect call from this number, I have no idea who these people are and I'm tired of being pushed around by my phone company to pay for some scam.

I just recieved my phone bill with a $20.00 charge for a collect call that i never accepted and i was at work the time of the charge. I have spent 2 hours on the phone with my phone company trying to disput this. They need to catch these people pulling the scams.

I also received a charge to my phone bill and when i call it hangs up. When i call the phone company they tell me to call that number. Well i will not be paying for that bill in no way shape or form. They will never go broke if they wait on me to pay for that scam.

I called my phone company to ask about transaction clearing and they told me they have the right by law to charge me for that as a 3rd party.But also had no idea who they were. I have to fill out a form from my phone compay to block any 3rd party from charging me. They also did a reverse look up on 1-877-257-2455 and found a number in San Antonio Tx. Phone number 1-210-471-0100 and there was an answer there although they close at 5pm. I will call and see whats up. Thought I'd let anyone else having trouble with this scam Know what I'v found out.

Just received my AT&T Bill with a 21.00 charge to the same number 877-257-2455.  Called what is listed at TRSCN CLRNG on the AT&T bill and was routed through what is called Customer Service, only to be left with "mailbox is full and not taking calls" and then a disconnect.  Called AT&T and they indicated I had to provide a confirmation number from the 3rd party in order to get the charge removed.  AT&T would put this in a disute mode for 90 days but without the confirmation from the 3rd party I would still be responsible for payment.  AT&T should be held responsible for providing access and billing services to these 3rd party scammers.

My AT&T Bill charged was for 7.42 for the same number 877-257-2455. The location of the collect call that was supposably placed from my number went to Idyllwild, CA.  Called what is listed at TRSCN CLRNG on the AT&T bill and was routed through what is called Customer Service, only to be left with "mailbox is full and not taking calls" and then a disconnect.  Called AT&T, was transferred to 3 different departments - (Notice they don't have a FRAUD Dept.) and they indicated I had to call the 3rd party billing company (listed as EVOICESERVICE, INC. #) to have them credit my account.  AT&T put a 3rd party billing block AND blocked all collect calls for my number.  AT&T would put this in a disute mode for 90 days but without the confirmation from the 3rd party I would still be responsible for payment.  I asked who I can speak to that would stop this kind of thing happening and AT&T told me that I could file a claim with the FCC, which they told me I would have to look up the number in the phone book.

SO, why doesn't AT&T have a Fraud department?

I have called several times the 1-877 listed on the AT&T phone bill;  they've yet to answer their phone.  It merely rings several times, then rolls over to a busy signal.  The "Collect Call" was allegedly from a 714 number out of Cypress, CA, which turns out to be a fax.  The company handling the call was "EVOICESERVICE,INC."  AT&T says they are "not responsible for third party billing."  I informed them I was not responsible for the $12.36 charged on their bill.  It appears this illegitimate company is taking advantage and I also believe it's time to turn up the heat a little.  I intend to contact the Attorny General's Office of WI, TX and CA and any other state I see listed here on this site.  If all those who wrote on this site were the "Smart Ones" it makes you wonder how many others have never questioned or even checked the phone bills, doesn't it?  Let's see them work this scam from inside prison where the phone calls ARE collect....!

Same thing as the rest of you. I'm getting charged for a collect call to my fax machine. (So how how can a fax machine verbally accept a collect call). It's a total scam and AT&T doesn't block it.

They charged me 13.20 for no reason. I wander how they do that, but I don't know how to dispute the bill.

I too just looked at my ATT phone bill today and was charged by TRSCN CLRNG 1-877-257-2455 $8.68 for a call when we weren't even home that day.   Not sure how they get this scam to work when no one is home to take the alleged collect call?   I plan on contacting ATT and dispute the charged and put a 3rd party billing block.  One more scam to worry about.

I had this same # appear on my AT&T phone bill for $8.43. I called AT&T and they informed me it was from a 3rd party billing, per FCC rules they have no choice but to bill the number. I called the # on my bill 877-257-2455 and talked with someone in customer service, although I never found out who they were. They told me it was for a voice mail service. They are going to credit my account, which will take 1 - 2 billing cycles and blocked my phone # from being used again. Per AT&T, anyone can provide a phone # good or bad; the number provided is the one who will be charged!

This is some type of scam.
I had a collect call billed on my ATT bill for a 3 minute call from 661-944-1150. We don't accept collect call, we don't know anyone in CA and we weren't even home at the time the call supposedly was accepted. When I called the customer service # (877-257-2455 Transaction Clearing / BillWithUs, Inc)for the company they were billing it for I was disconnected repeatedly without ever being able to speak to a person.

I just received my phone bill today with a fraudulent phone charge of $17 for some collect call I suppossedly accepted. What a bunch of BS this is. Some serious scam artists are really getting away with this bullcrap. When I was given a number to call, guess what, that number is not a working number! This is absolutely ludicrous! If our phone companies don't see this scam going on, what the heck are we supposed to do!! I was billed on behalf of EVOICESERVICE, INC. and says here it's by Transaction Clearing. Yeah, you see that name, they're hoping the transaction will clear so they can take off with your money!

A $7.42 charge for a 3 min. collect phone call from 520 881-9184 in Tucson, Arizona appeared on my 90-year-old mother’s phone bill this month. The charge was billed through Trscn Clrng (Transaction Clearning, LLC), on behalf of BILLWITHUS, Inc. She said no one called her collect – ever, and she wasn't even home at the time the call was supposedly made. I googled BILLWITHUS, Inc., plus the phone numbers listed as the collect calling number and for Trscn. Clrng (Transaction Clearing) and came up with hundreds (but I understand there are thousands) of complaints from people who have been scammed.  I called AT&T and they were well aware of the scam (they even warned me about another one where someone calls and asks you to punch 0 on your phone – which will result in an enormous long distance charge on your phone bill).  They removed the charge from her bill.  I also had AT&T place a block on collect and 800 number calls to my mother’s telephone.

Just noticed the same thing on my bill. This happened to me about a year ago and ended up having to pay the bill. Not a problem I will call Bell South tomorrow and see what they say. For Christ sakes I Don't even have a phone conected to the wall (I only use my line for internet). I will not call any third party or anything. They either take it off my bill or I will go with another company. It will be solved tomorrow.

I received a bill from TRSCN CLRNG. I searched online last night and found all this info. I called that number that billed me 1-877-257-2455 this morning. I explained the3 whole thing and told her I thought it was fraud. She told me I had the wrong number but I repeated the number to her then suddenly she could help me. That number receives calls till 7 PM I think was on the recording before speaking with someone. She said she would take it off my bill. I then called my phone company and she said I needed a confirmation number. So after work I had to call again. This time only took a few minutes and my confirmation number was given quickly. When I called the phone co. with the confirmation number she said there was no charge for blocking 3rd party calls and collect calls. I also told the phone company that I had seen all kinds of complaints online about this same number and reported that employee at first told me I had the wrong number. I also told them I thought it was fraud. The charge was from a collect call according to TRSCN CLRNG. I told both places that I have had my phone number for 2 years and have never received a collect call. What a hassel and I agree something very strange going on here. May turn it into the FCC also. Got the charge just like the rest.. called TRSCN CLRNG..got transfered to 888-210-9121 (this place handle the collection call issues.) I told them to prove that I picked up the call...they were not able to prove it.. Said the best they can do is to credit me 70% of the $11.21 charge.  WTF?...I dont feel like I need to even pay a penny.  Took what I could (the 70% credit with a CONFIRMATION number.) called ATT to complain.. they took down the confirmation number to file the claim for me.  Told me to contact CA Public Utility Commission to file a complaint 800-649-7570.  ATT says it happens to all phone carriers and there is no way to block it per goverment regulation...which is sooo BS.  Someone is making hella money on our hard earning money!!

received a 14.40 charge on my phone bill for a collect call from a 505 821-9798 # out of albuquerque nm dont know anybody in albuquerque never been to albuquerque a transaction clearing llc/evoiceserviceinc.billed me i dont accept collect calls. collect calls bug me, wasnt even home that day contacted att but said i had to contact these companie(s) also which i dont want to do because att is my provider and wanted to see what other s had to say.

In my bill, I got $14.4 charge from Transaction Clearing LLL too. It's a collect call from Billwithus Inc 1-800-215-1961. Call is from Phoenix AZ, 623-245-8872. I called this number, it's not a working number. So I called 1-800-215-1961, talked to an agent, and complained about it. Obviously this is a scam. The agent offered me 50% credit back at first, I didn't accept it. Then she offered me 70% back, I still didn't accept it. Finally, she promised to give me a full refund. I got the confirmation number. The refund is supposed to be issued in 1 to 2 billing cycle.

Then I called ATT, the agent said will return the bill to the company, but he didn't ask for the confirmation number. I also asked the agent to block future collect call for me.

Then I called FCC 1-888-225-5322 to complain, a complaint form will be mailed to me.
