The Allstate thing makes sense because we got renewal info in the mail as well. No message was left for us either.

Any time I get a 877 or similar call, I tell them they have the wrong number, since we're unlisted.  Today I got a call from this number, and sure enough, in the mail was the renewal info for Allstate Auto Club.

I have gotten calls from this number, as well as another different number, both are telemarketing companies representing Allstate Motor Club...as well as many other companies. We have had Allstate Motor Club in the past, so we do have an existing business relationship, hence they are exempt from the Do Not Call Registry rules. HOWEVER, I NEVER gave Allstate permission to sell my phone number to telemarketer companies. I(and hopefully many others) will show my displeasure by NOT renewing with Allstate.

Has anyone noticed the huge increase of "Toll Free" 800, 877, 866, 888 -or- area code and then "unknown caller" calls - all from unwanted telemarketers offering misc. incl. Allstate, vultures offering loans,attorney groups offering assistance with "bankruptcy", etc. etc.  Ever since almost all of us registered on the "Do Not Call Registry" - they have found a way to BUY our phone numbers from services we once used and had an existing business relationship with and now they can slither their way around the do not call registry and "legally" call us.  Leave it to the telemarketing companies to come up with a way to beat the system which once threatened their existence as they are now once again thriving and legally pestering us at all times - and YES, again mostly at dinner time!!!

I get call from this # 5 times a day and am sick of it

I got a call today from 1 877 261 2771 offering me a reduced rate for renewing my Allstate Motor Club membership, which expires in a couple of months.  They required a credit card renewal (with bill posted when renewal is due, no immediate charge).  I was reluctant to give credit card info, but they had my membership information so I went ahead.  I am happy to see the number is associated with Allstate as I had second thoughts after the call.  But, if all is up-and-up I save about $20.  I wonder how Allstate can afford to give me $20 off and pay a commission to the marketing service.  

I too tend to let these type numbers go to answer machine, but this was at the end of the ring cycle and I picked it up before reading the caller ID.

this number called but left no message. who are they? Also have name in do not call registry.

Called today. No message. I am on the do not call list. If it is allstate,
everyone needs to boycott them.

The caller identified themselves as Allstate Auto Club and offered a reduction in my next billing in exchange for giving them a credit card number.  I refused. First of all the premise is ridiculous, and second I don't give out that information to anyone identifying themselves as "Unavailable" on my screen of logged telephone calls.

I get calls from this number, 877-261-2771 on a daily basis and usually, 3 times a day. I am also on the Do Not Call National Registry List as well and here lately, hasn't done anything to discourage these so called solicitors and telemarketers from calling. I don't answer my phone if it comes up as Unavailable on my phone log. I had Allstate towing in the past and not because they weren't a good towing company, in which they were by the way, but when they raised there rates, I canceled them. I also don't give out personal information over the phone to a person who says that they are with a certain company, because how do I know that they say who they say they are???

KISS...Don't answer 800, 877 or any other 8xx number & delete from call history...life is too short to fret over such matters.

It must be Allstate Motor Club. I have a renewal coming up. They have already e-mailed me about it. After 45 years you would think they would have noticed once I get the renewal package in the mail (which I still haven't) I pay by check. Well, maybe they haven't...

Thanks for answering the question "Who?".  Just got a call from this number, picked up by answering machine, no message. Don;t have caller I.D. so hit *69 (which costs me) for the #.  There's the reason I let the machine screen calls.  Wouldn't have bothered with *69 except new contact might have been shy about leaving message.
Probably Allstate M.C. as you folks say because our membership renews in 2 months.

I got a call from 877-261-2771 that was about 3 minutes long - all just classical music (presumably their "hold" music) !   hahaa.

Why don't they just put it on the Allstate website and let you use your credit card there?  Saves on the telemarketing fee.  idiots.  They'll just charge customers more to  pay for it.

I'm getting extremely tired of receiving these calls. I have health problems and these calls are annoying and affectin my well being.
