Yes, started getting calls from this number; picked up, and an automated message says "you have a message waiting for you. please hold", after which there's some message of someone looking for Ash.

just did some more research they say they are from EOCCA  and there doing debt collections. They are scammers DO NOT give them any money they are not real debt collection company will steal your money

It's a debt collection company.  NOT a sexual pervert, moron!  I just called them back.  They wanted personal info to verify me.  I said no, that I wouldn't give personal info to a random person, and if they need to "verify" my info, then they must already have it... So I told them to send me a letter.  He asked if my address changed and I said no.  It's been on Formosa Ave for years.  That's all I said, no house number or anything.  He asked if it was in (blank) city.  I said yep.  

He then told me they were debt collectors and he was calling about $20 in unpaid seller fees to EBay.  Which actually is a valid debt that slipped my mind.  The guy was actually pretty nice, he even looked up the items I sold to verify he was legitimate.  They're actually a valid debt collector, just doing their job that they were hired to do for their clients (like EBay).  If you're contesting the debt, don't blame them, they just get the info that the original company provided.  Take it up with the company that hired them if you feel the debt or amount is wrong.  I forget the actual collection company name... It was something like EECOS.

They just called my brother, looking for my ex - they stated they are private investigators...I have no doubt if they are looking for him it is a debt collection company...

They called me today to ask about "one of my accounts", they weren't detailed at all and told me to give them a call back because I said that specific person wasn't here lol

Yeah i believe theyre legit.  I had a $30 sellers fee on ebay i forgot about (havent been on ebay in some time) and they named the exact amount of payment and when it was overdue etc etc and they were correct.  I promply payed Ebay 2 days ago.  I got another call from them today and told them to check their info and they said they'll take my phone # off their list.  Hopefully they dont call again.

they just called my cell phone and asked for my brother, ok 1st of all my brother doesnt live with me and 1/2 the time I dont know where he is and I sure as heck not in charge of his debts (or presumed) debts. So I told them he was in prison, I think that should stop the calls. LMAO

They call us every night trying to collect on our middle age kid's debts.

I got a call just now from this company, wanting to know if there was a certain person that lives here, The person they was looking for had been dead 5 years. they actually called on my phone what was in my mom's name. I think this company is a SPAM company, trying to get information from you. They asked for his birthday and all his personal information. I do not know how they got this number, being associated with his name, because the phone number has nothing to do with him. If someone could give me some information on who to report these people to, I would greatly appreciate it, They said they would take this number off their list.

This number just called me and left a message that they are looking for information on a person by  the name of Wayne Chase. Okay this is really creepy since that is an old boyfriend of mine from 29 years ago. Coincidence, maybe but kinda creepy really.

I just got a call from that company too.  They said they were a collection company.  The guy that lived here dealt with eBay a lot and I know he owed them money.  He owed a lot of money to ebay.  I didn't talk to the collection company nor they told me this guy owed money to ebay.  They just said they were a collection company and were attempting to collect a debt from this guy.  They left a voicemail.  If you owe money to eBay, that could be it, apparently.

Just got a call from this number.  I picked up, and it was automated asking for someone I never heard
of and if I wasn't this person to hang up so I did.

The thing is I have asked on many, and I do mean MANY ocassions for them to stop calling.

Why?  Because everytime this 800 service calls it always asks for someone I don't know, and doesn't
live here.

Several times after going past the automated message, and finally talking with someone I tell them
straight out.  I do not know the person your asking / calling for, and that they do not live here STOP
CALLING!.

They say ok your on our do not call list sorry for bothering you.  A brief moment of respite, and then
surprise; surprise another 800 service message asking for another person I do not know and doesn't
live here.

I've already filed complaints with the do not call registry, and am proceeding with complaints to my
district attorney.

They always call, and it's for people I do not know and don't live here.
When I tell them that they just call back looking for someone else I don't know, and doesn't live here.

This is a debt collection company. They are calling you to try to collect a debt. It may not be from you but they may call you trying to find someone.

Lots of people may not want to realize it but lots of our info is out there floating around. It is a specific industry that collects all those separate pieces and compiles them into records that show us and lots of our info AND the info of our neighbors and any possible relatives. This is the main source of these seemingly random calls. I know it's real because I have seen it myself.

- They get your phone number from old address and credit report records.
- There are reports out there on all of us that show possible relatives and neighbors with address and phone numbers
- They use this info to try to locate someone who either won't answer their calls or who is no longer reachable at the number(s) they have on file.

While it is possible that they do some scamming, they are a real company that is contracted by other companies to collect on bad debts.

Collection agency's MUST stop calling you, IF YOU TELL THEM TO STOP, then follow up with a written demand. Send it certifieted mail return reciept. But keep records of dates and times they call for future use.  You have the right, under federal law to ONLY deal with your original creditor.

This is a case of the right hand not knowing what the left is doing.  The collectors are untrained and violate the law constantly, the company's say its not true, but it happens every day.

They are banking on YOU not doing anything! Speaking to them does not work, put in writing, research the internet and fight back against unlawfully tactic's.

GuyInMichigan is correct. This company called me asking for my girlfriend's information. Armed with the information below and knowing what GuyInMichigan said is true, I'm sure they will not be bothering me unless they want to give me free money!

Know your rights! And don't go on the defensive when a debt collector calls. Be sure and ask their address and any other information as well!

There was a message on my machine last night.  They wanted to find out about the child of a guy I
dated 15 years ago.  The kid is now 18.  I thought it was pretty weird.

I get calls from this number at least once a day, sometimes 3 or 4 times. The only ID listed is 800 SERVICE but they have started leaving a message saying they are EOCCO collection agency trying to collect on an outstanding debt, and if I continue to listen to the message it will be assumed that I am the Carol Borno(?) they are trying to reach and that I will continue to receive  their calls until I call them back. I do not know anybody by that name. She may have had this number before we moved to this area several months ago, or this may just be one of those "phishing" calls. Since I have read the complaints of those who have called back and still get the calls, I have no intention of calling them back.  

We don't ordinarily answer calls from unidentified or unrecognized callers, but in trying to get our disabled son qualified to receive the care he needs before we are too old and incapacitated to care for him ourselves (which is likely to be sooner rather than later) we need to take care not to miss any calls from medical and medicaid representatives. These people are heartless. Surely there must be some way that phone companies could prevent this kind of harrassment, since the No Call registration is apparently useless.
