these [***] keep blowing ma phone up for no damm reason im about to show them who the boss is, because they got the wrong person

it is a recording saying I owe them money and to pay with a credit card ----------I have asked my physician about it because he is the only one I see during the year and he is not aware of any bills outstanding with his practice about me.

I have the "Privacy Corps " caller id manager. It blocks ANY phone number from ringing my house. They can call 100 times a day and I wont hear a thing.
I can punch up 800#,866#,877#, etc.. and it blocks all 800's automatically

The number belongs to Medical Recovery Specialists, who represent that they are not subject to the requirements of the Federal Trade Commission's Do Not Call Registry even after being informed that their automated calls demanding payment of medical bills by persons who do not owe any such are in violation, and they refuse to remove telephone numbers of persons, such as myself, who have requested that they do so over a period of more than 5 months.

This last call occurred on CHRISTMAS EVE at 12:18:00 P.M. CDT 12/24/2009 and the FTC site exhibited the following message:

Important Notice:  Pursuant to the Presidential Executive Order closing all executive branch departments and agencies of the Federal Government early on Thursday, December 24, 2009, the Premerger Notification Office and the Commission Filings Office will close at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, December 24, 2009. The Premerger Notification Office and the Commission Filings Office will reopen on Monday, December 28, 2009 at 8:30 a.m.

Ever since I changed my phone number to a non-pub number, I've been getting calls from this number. I never pick up, but now that I know who they are, I'm going to report them to the FCC. EVERYONE who sees this number on their caller ID needs to report them to the FCC for fraud - they're probably bilking hundreds of people out of $$ by asking for their credit card number. DO NOT GIVE ANYONE YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER OVER THE PHONE!!!!

I do not have any outstanding medical debt. I have checked with dr's and hospital. They call all hours of day and nite and I have an unlisted phone number. Why?

Called by these boneheads for something that I don't owe.   Their message sounds like someone with a grade school intelligence.

I finally called back, they were calling my cell phone, but I don't have voice mail on it. I called after I saw all these messages. I did give them my cellphone number so they could look this up, but when they asked for my name, I told them if they had my phone number, they should know who I was. I told them about this site, and they had "no idea" what I was talking about. I told them if they knew me, they'd have my land line number, name and address. She was oh so nice and said they'd remove my number. What a crock.

I get calls from this # atleast 10 times a week and nobody knows who I am, they dont know my name, and I have nothing from them to prove they need $$.

They have been calling looking for my daughter---who is a full time college student.  Her medical bills were paid in full.  They have been requested to provide communications in writing only.  If and when I get this letter, we will be forwarding it, along with proof of no debt owed, to the FCC, BBB and to our attorney for harassment.

I have the same exact problem with them. How did your situation work out and should I do the same in terms of only asking for written correspondence? They would not accept my confirmation number as in cut me off before I could give it to them.

They are calling me at home and my work demanding to talk to my supervisor and threatening with criminal action.  My husband, who is a prosecutor, said they cannot do this.

I also know of no debt that I owe them.  Wish they would quit calling.  When I tried to return the call.....no answer.  Thanks before I tried to give them money I have no idea of knowing about.

I probably owe money for many medical tests I've recently had, I have not caught up with what insurance paid, what I truly owe, what was billed wrongly....it is a mess trying to sort through the paperwork as it comes in.  

That said, these people call 15 times a day. I used to pick it up and would get a recording telling me to "hold", then a person would come on. The first 10 times I requested the bill in writing, they always said they'd send it and never have. Like others I have told them I am not just paying them hundreds of $ without seeing what is going on.  They are right down the street from me, I'm sure they are correctly trying to collect a bill, so now I don't know what to do. They refuse to give me any paperwork in writing so I can sort out what they really want. So IS this legit, at all? Or is it completely a scam? I'd love to know what my status is with these bills... am still having tests and the bills are still coming in. I am so buried, I'm lost about it. If these folks have a point I'd like their help but if not, I'll report them.  Feedback please?

Well said, I echo everything you wrote.  I know I owe various doctors and hospitals money, but I have no idea what I DO owe, what was wrongly billed, what insurance didn't pay, what the doctors might have coded incorrectlym etc etc.

I have also been telling these people for over 10 months to please send me the paper bill so I know who I owe money to and what is going on. They refuse to, and this is utterly wrong.  I am being called 10+ times a day...I actually went out and bought a cordless phone with a Caller blocking feature JUST  to block these people.  It's a shame that scam artists can take a possibly legit bill and turn it into some kind of Harrassment Contest.  


Like you I don't know what to do.  I'd be happy to pay the bill if they'd give me some info, which they are required to by law.  I suggest you ignore them.  They aren't playing by the rules so neither should we.

I have reported them to the FtC at least 15 times.  Nothing is done and I don't get any kind of email or confirmation that they even care.
