Roy Harper - 2 Jan 2008I too have received a charge on my credit card, from MC-ACM, telephone number 1-877-264-8769. I get a recorded message when I call the number, and no call back when I leave my details.

clc - 7 Jan 2008Most likely fraudlent. A charge for $9.85 showed up on my cc that I don't know anything about from "ACM 877-264-8769 CA". I called the number and I just get a message that says "no one can take your call, please leave a message...." Notify your bank about this.

Eddie - 8 Jan 2008Just got a charge from this same phone number. It was charged to my wife's debit card, so we just had that card blocked. Definitely sounds like a scam.

Adam - 9 Jan 2008I noticed the $9.85 charge on my credit card with the "ACM 877-264-8769 CA" description. I tried calling the number multiple times during the last couple of days, but I kept getting an answering machine with a generic announcement. I called my credit union, and they cancelled my credit card. The lady helping me said the description stated, "Advertising Services." I didn't buy any ad services. Somebody stole my card number.

Or, did anyone buy Salami from a trade show with that credit card? It came up as Worldwide Gourmet Union City CA on the statement.
We rarely use this card number for anything. These are the only possibilities I have found.

THE ONLY THING I'VE USED MY CREDIT CARD FOR LATELY WAS A MONTHLY CREDIT PROTECTION FEE WITH EQUIFAX, WHICH I JUST CANCELLED LAST WEEK. Why would I receive this apparently fraudulent debit from my account less than a week after cancelling with Equifax??? This can't be coincidence...

Charles - 11 Jan 2008Thanks to everybody who posted their problem with this number and its mysterious $9.85 charge, giving me evidence to support my fraud report. Washington Mutual has closed my account, will issue me a new number, and is treating the charge as a criminal fraud.

Eagle - 16 Jan 2008B of A sent me an E-mail saying suspicious activity was noted on my debit card. I pulled my info up and it was the same as most. ACM for $9.85. The bank blocked the card and issued a new one with a different number. I used the card in only 2 places other than BofA ATM's. That was Fry's Electronics and Sam's Club.

mad in texas - 15 May 2008i too was charged $9.85. had to cancel my debit card. darn it!! filed fraudulent charges with my bank against these folks. called the 877 number daily!! told them they were thieves, worse than pond scum. i work hard for what little money i have. single parent with two boys and i teach school. i told them they can just as easily return my money as easy at they took it! I DID NOT GIVE MY INFO OUT. JUST SPELLED MY NAME. told them they had my account number already and i wanted my money back!!! guess what? ABOUT 2 WEEKS LATER....I HAD THE $9.85 BACK IN MY ACCOUNT. GO FIGURE! GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL. CALL THEIR NUMBER REPEATEDLY.
