This company is NCO and yes they are bill collectors....That will call you 3x times a day and fill up your voicemail. But if you answer and speak with a rep. they will take your number out the system if you dont have any debt with them.

This automated phone call delivers a recorded message asking for a return call.  The return number was the same as the dialed number.

The company is actually NCO.  They were actually calling on behalf of Suntrust Bank.

In my case, the call was valid.  I am sure I will have many more exciting conversations with them as the receive small monthly payments from me.

they have been calling on a cell phone I have had for two weeks
I talked to my carrier about this and they said that this is commen ,they reissue phone numbers so you get calls like this. Only way around it is to ask for a delisted FAX number it will cost extra but it might be worth it.
As I write this I have been on hold with NCO for over twenty minutes now ,bill collecting must be overwhelmed

Someone from this number calls all of the time and never leave a human message only a recorded message and you really don't know the individual that they are calling.  You;ve asked them not to call your number because you don't know that individual and they still insist upon calling.  Very annoying; I wish they would stop.

Called and said they were looking for someone with the same last name as mine, but different first name.  Do they just randomly call everyone with the same last name trying to get lucky? They did say they would get my number out of their system.  We'll see how it goes.

they keep calling 3 times a day every other day looking for someone who does not even live at my address or in this country for that matter.  I have not answered the calls because they are not for me however it is against the law for them to disclose anyone debt to anyone but the debtor. I've had this other persons information left on my machine numerous times and it's a violation of their rights. Does anyone have any information on what legal action a person whose personal information has been disclosed to others can take?

Google NCO financial systems and see what comes up, they are the WORST collection agency in the US, do not pay them a dime.

NCO Financial is a HORRID company.  They will threaten and bully you until you cave - DON'T DEAL WITH THEM.  Pursuant to the FDCPA, you do NOT have to deal with ANY third-party collector and can send them a Cease And Desist letter (send it certified mail, return receipt, signature required - for your own protection).  First have them provide written verification of the debt - this buys you a couple of weeks, and also provides you with their mailing address (and sometimes a contact name, if you're lucky).  Once you receive that, send off a Cease And Desist letter.  If they sign for the letter then contact you afterward, they are in violation of the law and you can sue them for harassment.

We don't have any debt, but I called back just in case. It turns out they were looking for someone else and had the wrong number and offered to remove me from their list.

    NO DEBT
Received a message indicating this was NCO, a debt collection agency. Said it was important to return call as this was a debt collection agency. Was asked to call 877-268-4294, ask for Carolyn Wyte(?) with an ID #.
We have no debts present or past that have not been paid in a very timely manner and such a call is unwarranted.
