- I know their buisness well. TriFinancial| 9 repliesThis company is working illegal tactics. They are working for a client that places debt in their office for the company to collect. They also own their debt as well. They have strong arm collectors who not only break the laws F.D.C.P.A. wise but they threaten action that this company is not able to do to the debtors or from whom they are calling. They 3rd party to get the debtor to call them back. They speak to family and threaten jail time or arrest of their family members "the debtor" if they do not pay the debt for the debtor. The biggest thing this scum company does is that they will collect their placed accounts on a balance of say 1200 dollars and tell the debtor or the family that the balance of the debt is 3000.00 and when they collect the balance that is not true they do not pay the client the whole ammount that they are collecting. They upsell their placed accounts and it is highly illegal and the client does not even know what the company is doing or that the client is not getting their money. The company hides the money from the client and they just opened another agency to be able to get more buisness from this client and to scam everybody again. They are scum and do not pay them a dime. They are not able to do anything to you that the collecors say they will do to you. Report all of them to the proper authorities and most of all contact the Buffal NY news papers and media or Bud Hibbs website.

- realguyThis scavenger debt collection company tries to collect time barred debts, in other words debts that are older than the statute of limitations. They pay pennies on the dollar to buy your debt. They will then misrepresent themselves as a law office or a court officer to scare you into paying a debt that is uncollectable. Don't give them a dime. You will be throwing your money away. No matter how much you give them it is never enough to pay off what they say you owe. THIS IS A TRAP! Don't talk to them and don't give them money.

- Don'tPlayWellWithOthers| 12 replies2/29/08: A female who left the name of Lisa Waters called my mother-in-law in referance to wanting my husband's social security number and insisted she needed to speak to him the same day. She did not state what company she was affiliated with, but left a referance number. Today I received an E-mail from my mother-in-law giving the above mentioned information. As someone with a back ground of investigating companies for broker's, I thought the call was "FISHY"...So, I took only a few minutes to investigate a little further! I called the 877-268-9286 number provided by this woman and a man answered the phone...Unlike a REAL professional business the man did not answer using an identity for himself or the "company"....phone actually was breaking up alot...Finanlly, we had airway/connection! I did not disclose any information, just simply asked was this 877-268-9286 and he stated, "Yes". He then kept asking for my name, and then he asked did someone call for me. I stated"No, a woman called for my husband"... He kept insisting for my husbands name, and I of course kept insisting to know the name of his company...Finanly, after multiple attempts, I guess you could say I won and he said he was with Tri-Financial, then instantly he asked agian for my husbands name and the telephone number they had called, trying to get information from....OF COURSE I refused! I was born at night like they say, but I wasn't born LAST NIGHT! ANY LIGITIMATE company that ACTUALLY had a debt or ANYTHING we have EVER purchased, would have a SS# and all news reports tell you not to pay money to people who call you...that you have not initiated the first call to, espeacially and NEVER give your SS# to anyone over the phone>>>PERIOD! Someone needs to put this so called company in their place, and if they are ligitament; then they have`some SERIOUS education to do! Companies are held legally ;iable for their employees harassment/tactics and someone may just call them on that!!!

- skinnyyes, they called me too.I said I have no money due to a health problem,no bank account either. They threatened a court date, tried to get me to send a check with absolutely no proof of who they are.then they wanted me to give them an account nuber to draw monthly payments from etc..I said dend me the info,I need paper work.(The tone changed)I started calling their bluff and it was left that they will send me an email with instructions.I cant wait!Ha!
- CJSame experience. They've called relatives, and left information saying they have a court docket number in my county, and they need me to return their call. I have spoken to my lawyer, who said this is all blowing smoke. I checked with the courts, and there is no such number, and nothing under my name. I called the consumer credit devision of my states attourney general, and they said the company is not even registered legally as a debt collector, and whether they are a law firm or not, they would have to be. Then when I said I wanted documentation, they faxed me info, and all the info (that they claim was a debt they purchased months ago) had yesterdays date on it! And they said they would send the final bill from the original creditor which they did not, because they said it would not be available until today by noon. I'm still waitin!

- jimI have received multiple calls from several different dudes, Chris being the main one. Same kind of experience w/ threats & "legal action" promised if I did not pay this off. The debt was already in collections as of Jan. 2000 & from the legal info I have read over & been told by lawyers the debt should legally be taken off of my credit report 8 years from the date of last payment. This date has already passed & interestingly enough it hit 8 years shortly before the calls started pouring in from "Tri-Financial". I did make a request for proof of this debt & info from this company anyway. They sent me a plain text e-mail that was obviously typed up by them, & not the "certified letter" they said they would send. Pretty clear that the above reports are right on the money & this is not a reputable company that should be respected or dealt with in any way.

- SallyThey call frequently and threaten..when I told them to send any pertinant information they should call my lawyer, they hung up on me. There is plenty of information out there to educate you on what credit agencies can and cannot do for you...please educate yourselves and do not let these people bully you AT ALL! Do not tell them ANYTHING about you. If you are burning with curiosity about what they MIGHT have on you, get a PO Box and have them send information to that. DO NOT CALL THEM FROM YOUR WORK! They will harass you. They think that by scaring you, you will pay money you likely don't owe.
What they are trying to get from me is an outstanding bill that was over 10 years ago. The statute of limitations on that debt is 3 years in my state. There is NO WAY they will ever get a dime from me. - botheredI was called and was warned that my attorney should contact them. They said they were contacting me do to a filed complaint.

- bbaby275I recvd a call from 716-213-0963. i let it go to my voicemail. when i s\listened to my voicemail it was a guy telling me that there is a fraud case against me in my county. he then said i needed to call 877-268-9286 ext 233 asap. i called hte number. the lady who answered didnt give any name of the company she asked me twice waht extension i was calling. the man on that extension was very rude and told me that there is and outstanding debt of $3800 to one company. I hung up on him and pulled my credit report. the company he is talking about is definantly not $3800 but $1612.00. this is rediculous and they need to be stopped. my sisters called the number back and the guy who answered actually asked her if she was an idiot when she asked what kind of company this was. dont take any of their phone calls. when you call the 7162130963(NY) you go straight to a voicemail that will give you this number 3233377279(LA). the lady that answered the 323 number said she didnt call my phone and refused to give any information as to why someone would be calling it. I had a girl from work call and she got this foreign speaking guy who said it is an english shrink center. DO NOT TALK TO THESE PEOPLE/ DONT VALIDATE ANY INFORMATION WITH THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

- chica78| 1 replyThese people called my mom's house and left several messages saying that they have documents with my name and SS# with County Clerk's Office. I called them back and Alicia Waters told me that they have an affidavit of fraud against me in my county..for an account that was opened in 1999... I let her know that I was a single mom and I am unable to work because I have a disabled child..She told me I needed to speak with their legal dept because we needed to get payments set up or they would be taking me to court for defrauding a financial institution..She then transferred me to a guy named Jermaine Walker ext #241..He claimed that he was a paralegal and said that he was not trying negotiate anything with me... He said that I needed to talk to friends and family to try and borrow money to pay a settlement...I told him that I live on a very limited income and I knew that no one would be willing to let me borrow that kind of money... He said that he would send me a letter and give some time to think about it.. He said that maybe I needed to talk it over with the judge..maybe that would help me...He also told me that the account would be on my CBR for the next 15 years... and I let him know that I do know about credit reporting... and the account is no longer on on my CBR right now...
These people keep calling my mom's house leaving message after message after I have informed them that I do not live there and I do not have a phone and they leave messages saying "good luck" and things of that nature..
I have tried looking them up thru whitepages...reverse search for the address on the letter they sent me 286 Schenck St Suite A North Tonawanda, NY 14120....nothing listed for the company.. I have also reversed the #'s...no info found...

I'm convinced after reading all of these complaints that this is a scam. Thanks!

- DittoBill Jordan called stating he was trying to contact my son so he could deliver some kind of summons. He made references to being an attorney, but after I started firing questions, he said he was just working for the attorney. He said he had legal documents, completed by my son, that listed both my mom's and my address and phone number. However, my curent address and phone number is not even listed under my name...it's listed under my wife's name, who is NOT my son's mother. The number provided for call back (1-877-268-9286) was a disconnected Verizon number. I then called the number that came thru on my mother's caller ID (716-213-0968) and tried to speak to Bill Jordan. When I asked more questions, he hung up on me..twice.

- bumfuzzledA guy called me yesterday evening at 8:31PM , he sounded like he coulda been indonesian, sorry if i misspelled that..anyway he claimed basically the same stuff as above about going to take me to court, because someone had filed a fraud complaint against on an old dept filed on 01/1997,,he didnt give me any detailed tho,,,he never stated the amount of money owed,,nor did he mention the original creditors by name,,he knew the last 4 digits of my SS# and ask me to verify that these were in fact my digits so he could continue the conversation,,,i assumed(dumb i know) that since he knew this that it must be a legit call,,anyway i said yep thats me,,he then gave my complete SS# and stated that the conversation was being recorded.... he then asked if i would be willing to try and remedy the issue before they had to take legal actions, etc. I told him i wasn't working, had no property, vehicles, nor any other things that could be considered for seizing....i went to one of the free websites to get my credit report, and seen something filed in 1995 and another filed in 1997,,I'm in West Virginia so i'm not sure what the statute of limitaions is , but it seems to me that 10 years is the max? anyone know if this sounds right for my state? the caller id said the number he was calling from was 716-990-6442 and below that it said TRI-FINANCIAL ..
i did a reverse lookup on the number and found it to be a cellphone number.- Call type: Debt collector
- not even my debt replies to Same thing...I keep getting calls from 716-213-0968. It's usually a man but sometimes a woman and they also use 877-268-9286. They don't say what company they are. One of the men, Mike Stratton said he's an attorney and is threatening and lies also the woman told me they were a bank and that my name was used as a reference for a person and that's why they were calling: to get a reference. I didn't even know the person they're calling about. I told them all over and over I don't know the guy and I don't know why my name is used as a credit reference. I'm so tired of listening to their threatening and harassing messages that I got my voice mail disconnected today. I called the Better Business Bureau and the Federal Trade Commission. They told me to send Tri Financial a certified letter to cease and desist if after they get that letter and still call I can call back the FTC and go further. Also the BBB will send them notice of a complaint and Tri F has to respond etc, etc...I'm doing everything in my power to have this company investigated for harrassing, lying, deceitful business practices and misrepresentation. They've told me they're a bank, law office. 2 weeks ago they told me they were going to civil court and gave me a docket # and the county they were going to court for someone I don't know and I have nothing to do with. I have good credit and I don't have any bills in collections. How do you get these fraudulent money [***] to stop harassing? No more voice mail and my ringer is always off. If someone calls me I can see their # across my TV screen so I don't miss calls.I think next time they call I'll blow a fog horn into the phone....maybe they'll get an idea of what annoyed feels like if I start annoying them like they annoy me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- samemy attorney told me to pay anything on my credit report. after i recieved a call from tri financial i was very scared and nervous. i am telling you first hand i battled with the for 3 weeks --and after i tried everything i could do --i couldnt make the settlement they requested i have to do .
i now am stuck with a judgment pending any advice --it says i have 30 days to pay 12,000 $ no way i can do that ..any advice ? - same2uTo same--what the hell is a "judgement pending advice"???? Also if your attorney told you to pay anything on your credit report--my advice is to get a new attorney. You kind of sound like one of those slez bags trying to scare little old ladies--however, if you are real--don't worry about it. They might be able to get a judgement against you ,but if you have no assets--they can not get $$$$$$$$$$$ which is what they want. Most of these places do an asset search on you before they take you to court--which is another reason I think you're a 'phony'. But remember--they can not put you in jail for oweing $$$$$$ !!!!!!!!! Good luck.
