Received a call from Ryan Larson (telemarketer) and Jack Younts (supervisor) of Financial Consulting Services. They used same tactics as those listed above. Called my credit card company and they had never heard of Financial Consulting Services (good or bad). I warned my credit card company about this scam.

same story differnt day..  I had given them my credit card number and they gave me a confirmation number.  They said they will call back in a half hour with the Credit Card Co on the other line. I looked their number and found this site.  I quickly called my credit card co and cancelled my acct number and they reissued me a new #.  This company called me back and I told them I did not want their services and to cancell me as a client.  He told me that I would still have to pay since I said it was OK and if I don't pay they will take me to collections.  I told them that they are a SCAM and he just kept saying that my CC company was the SCAM.  He told me to hold on that he couldn't cancel me but maybe someone else in another department can. I just hung up.  Thanks for all your info.  I guess that saying is true "If it say to good, it can't be true"

1-877-283-8065 called today, to offer to lower Visa, MC interest rate to 6.99% if you owe at least $3500 and are not close to your credit max. I stupidly in desperation provided VISA credit card #, but I got suspicious, when they said they could not do this because I was only $429 from my credit limit, they asked for another VISA card # with at least $ 700 from the credit limit....I rudely hung up the phone and cancelled credit card.
This is a SCAM, VISA, MC will never call you up like this, only the bank behind the credit card may call you up and they would know the last 4 numbers on your credit card and they would have "800" numbers not "877".

My initial call came from 360-846-6900. The call woke me up, so maybe I was a little dumb. No, that's no excuse.
The caller told me he was with "Credit Card Services" in Orlando, Florida. I asked for his supervisor to explain the call.
He said that my Visa interest rate would be lowered to 6.9%. I would be billed $498 only after I saw my bank statement with the reduced interest rate.
The "confirmation" call came from "Bill Baker" at 406-720-2099.
The conference call with the banks never came. I went to my bank, closed my VISA account and opened a new one.
Thanks for this site and the helpful information.

Same company attempted to sell me services. These were the numbers used:
866-505-6695 (from Mark Morell, but probably India-based telemarketer)
888-311-0279 (from Wayne John, a pseudonym to be sure!)
I was very close to telling them yes to the charge of $1240, but then found this site---I called my credit card immediately and had my card cancelled just in case.

Same story as the others. I received about five different calls from them with information and confirmation numbers. When they called my credit card company I asked for a security question that would not involve my SSN. After speaking with my creditors I was told that in order to lower my rates a credit report would need to be done and they wanted my SSN. I told them I would not give that out and Andre Sanchez got rude and wanted to argue. I asked him for his SSN and permission to verify he was Andre Sanchez. He said no problem, and gave me a SSN. Well needless to say the SSN came back to a female in Ohio. I told  him that he just confirmed to me that it was a scam and that I had nothing else to say to him. I finally had to hang up on him as he argued. I received several calls back and finally answered and it was another man claiming to be his supervisor. After he argued with me a few minutes I told him about the SSN Sanchez had claimed to be his own. The man informed me that he was going to replay the "recorded" conversation, and hung up. I've not heard from him since. I have canceled the credit cards and have new one being issued and sent to me.
