I am receiving calls 877 286 9269 the person said their name was kenneth chappel from county legal services stated they had been retained by their client but didnt give name of their client, they threatened 2 serve legal papers at my residence and work

RECEIVED A CALL FROM THIS COMPANY THREATENING TO GARNISH MY WAGES AND I WOULD BE SERVED WITH PAPERWORK AND SUED FOR FRAUD DUE TO A PAY DAY ADVANCE.  I AM NOT COMFORTABLE WITH THIS AND I AM GOING TO CONTACT MY STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL.

Mr. Goldstein threatened me with leagal fees stating that i issued a check in the year 2009 and wanted me to to go to  Bank Of America and deposit money into this account. When I complete the transaction I was to call him from the bank with the transaction number

Stated that they are CIA and associates. Leaving threatening messages.

I got a call saying I was going to get subpoenaed into court for fraud on someone else’s doing. He claimed someone was using my ss number and signature. Is this legal? He then hung up in my face and refused to answer any of my calls, after saying I was suspicious.

I just recieved a very similar call. I will ignore and never, ever give personal info over the telephone.

Today from 757-419-5160 I got the same call as above from the same person stating that I had to call (877) 286-9269  because of a fraudulent check from 2009. NOT POSSIBLE!!!!  This is obviously a scam !

Got the call from Kenneth who said he worked for the county making phone calls - I said which county? He called from 757-419-5160 said to call (877) 286-9269.  I had my attorney call that number and they said they would fax the info and never did! It has to be a scam...

Unwanted cal came from 205-588-5211 stated he was Eugene with Legal Services County and that someone had used my social security number to open a bank account and that I need to call his client at 877-286-9269.  When I turned this over to an investigator the man at 205-588-5211 got ugly with investigator and refused to give out any information.

we also received a message stating that our info had been used fraudulently, I talked to a law enforcement friend of mine and he said this is a scam and they have been investigated in the past.  they usually target the elderly  and they can scare them into doing what they want

I have also reported this caller to the local law enforcement and the better business bureau

I got at call from Cara with Legal Services from phone number 205-588-5211 and stated that I would be served over the holidays for Fraud - and would include civil and criminal charges.  She said she was giving me a courtesy call, gave me the  number 877-286-9269 and the docket number to my case.  She said to call them to see if they would be willing to settle out of court. I called the number someone named Justin Rime picked up, gave the docket number and he associated the number to someone completely different from my name and just hung up.

i had my paycheck garnished by a payday loan company, so i know it can happen.

Calling my job and threatening to have me arrested for a loan that was taken care of. Cursed me out and hung the phone  up in my face. Is this legit CARR and associates? needing answers

Mr. Goldstein called my boss at work. She freaked out because of her not knowing of things like this happening because she is financially able to pay bills (therefore hasn't received creditor calls). Me, I'm used to the scare tactic so knew right away what was going on.  They say anything and everything to scare you into thinking you are going to jail or catching a case and that is what is illegal, not paying a bill is not illegal, its just a bad choice. DONT BE SCARED OF CREDITORS for not paying a bill, all they can do is put it on your credit report, which it should already be there. Just laugh and make it fun, it pisses them off that they cant bully you.

Recieved a phone call about an old Payday Loan.  They prey on the uninformed. You cannot go to jail for not paying a bill. Payday loans are short term loans with a check held as a form of security.  I kindly informed the man on the line of that information and he got rude on told me that he hoped I enjoyed going to jail.  1.  A reputable bill collector will never ever tell you you are going to jail iof you don pay a debt it is against the law.  2.  If you have outstanding debts and someone calls you get the information and call the company and see if that is the collection agency they are using to collect the debt you owe.  3. this is a common scam being used at this time and the payday lenders are well aware of it and want the information. 4. DO NOT PAY THESE PEOPLE A DIME. IT IS A SCAM AND THE MONEY YOU PAY THEM WILL NOT GO TOWARDS THE DEBT. Get as much information as possible and report them to your state att. and the federal trade commission.

I have received a few calls like this, also from Eugene.  Saying that I'm involved in some kind of a scam.  He has called my ex-husband, my Human Resources department, my elderly parents (ages 84 & 78) and myself.  He states that he is from "The County" and that he's going to serve me, my parents and a sister to whom I have little communication with.  I have had my identity stolen in the past and have asked for proof of the debt.  I take care of my bills as best as I can after my divorce.  I have told this place that if they can prove to me that this is in fact my debt, which I do not believe that it is, that I will be certain to make arrangements to pay the balance due.  I have asked also for an address to remit payment, but I am told that they must directly withdraw  it from my bank account, asking for debit card information.  This sounds way to far fetched to be legitimate.  They have also threatened me with jail, future embarrassment at my place of employment, etc.  It seems to me that they have gotten my information from on-line somehow or from when my identity was stolen awhile ago.  The call is received from (757) 419-5160 and I am told to call (877) 286-9269.

I received voice mail messages on both my home and work phones from 267-801-0889,  Although it sounds like the same person left both messages, on the message left on my work phone, the caller identified himself as Scott Matthews, while, on the message left on my home phone, the caller identified himself as Eugene Tunney from Legal Services.  In both messages, the caller recommended that I immediately call his client, whom he did not identify, because the client had reason to believe that my social security number and identification had been used to commit a fraudulent bank transaction.  On the message left on my home phone, the caller also made a threat with regard to my occupation if I did not call his client.
