Elizabeth called the phone number of my landlord. I don't even have their number. I see a post it on my door with this 877 # and called it. It sounded very distorted. A "Lisa" answered. I hung up. Sounds fishy.

Rude Rhonda called, said she was looking for _________, I asked what company she was with, she said she was with RPM. I asked what RPM was, she said t was a finance company. I asked what they finance, and she said they don't finance. I asked what she wanted, then the RUDe started. I figured she was from a collection agency, did not want to listen, didn't want to let me get a word in, so that i can try to help her incase I knew the person she was looking for, but RUDE rhonda didn't, so I hung up. I have had multiple calls on my answer machine from this same number. Wanted to help, but when people don't know how to talk to other people, tuff luck.

this phone number has been calling my work number asking for someone who works for me.  I mentioned it to the person but he was unsure who it could be.  I finally called the number and they were vague, rude and treated me like I was a criminal.  They asked for a number where they could reach this person and I let them know I couldn't just give out someone's phone number that is was a privacy thing.  The woman was incrediblely rude mumbled something else and hung up on me.  I assumed, at this point that it was a collection agency.  I thought this was terrible.  They shouldn't be harrassing me to locate another person.  I didn't need to know that someone I worked for was having financial trouble.  I feel like I have violated their privacy

they keep calling and hanging up. then they will call and leave a message of nothing. and if you call back they put you on hold and then answer with just their name and they act like its a personal urgencies to talk to them.  then they trace your call and search through your phone records to find over phone numbers to call you at and try to reach you this is fraud!!!!!!!

That they were trying to collect a debt.

I came into work today and there was a phone call from this number on a message slip.  It's regarding a Honda Accord from five years ago that I had repossessed.  It is a collection agency thats very rude. I have moved twice since the situation I was in, and I have no idea how they got my work phone number.  I have never heard from these people until today.  When I asked to speak to the person who called me, the guy said, "she might be here..." really vague, and then turned very nasty when I asked what this was pertaining.  Good luck if you hear from these people.  Very rude, vague, and no idea how they got my work number.

Over the past year they have aggressively been pursuing our company for what they claim is a past due balance of $566.04 with Advantx.com.

We have never hired / done work with Advantx.com and pay all of our invoices net 32 days, if not sooner. We have a Dunn and Bradstreet rating of 3A1.

This company has a pattern when calling of refusing to provide back up documentation. Common excuses are a) that's not our job to provide b) we have sent this over a dozen times 3) we can't provide that to you, it was your responsibility to pay this on time.

We have been threatened that they will report us to Dunn and Bradstreet and ruin our credit. Again, we have never worked with the company they claim we owe.

In doing some searching on the internet, specifically www.ripoffreport.com, (type "RPM collection" in the search line), I was able to find out that we are not the only company or individual that they are doing this to. This collection company sounds like a front to a company looking to make money off of companies and individuals who will pay up to stop the threats. During these hard economic times there could be many more victims of this fraudulent activity. They are very forceful and use very threatening tactics to intimidate people to "just pay up". In some cases, offering to "make a deal" to reduce the amount owed.

Add this number to your reject list- DO NOT ANSWER!  They will keep you on hold while trying to access your phone records and look for other people to harrass for money.  They are not actually a "collection agency" but got your information from one and will pray on anyone who is willing to speak with them.  I sent this number to the FBI for further investigation.

They call my husband's cell phone all the time and ask for somebody we don't know. He told them they had the wrong number but they call a few times a day still. Now I am starting to get this number at my house for my husband. I researched the number and they were called pirates. I have blocked so many numbers from them and they just get on another line and keep calling. My husband wants to change all of our numbers and I told him that companies who try to pirate money from you, they will have our new numbers asking for other people figure out our name somehow. So, we will just wait it out...They should be charged though.

I don't have a debt or credit cards since 1989, so I DONT owe any money to anyone... matter of fact... there are others who owe money to me!  Mortgage free... car was brought in cash... all bills were paid within 5 days... duh.  Just crooks looking for a handout.

yup just had em call here at 8:30 AM......at this time i wanna sleep (yes yes call me lazy :P)....i just did'nt pick up, i don't pick up unknown callers,but from the sounds of it i don't wanna deal with them anyway.

i DO owe money, but would rather not be threatened i have too much on my plate as it is....thanks for the info guys :D glad to see i'm not the only one dealing with this

why a debt collection agency, or any other business *cough* Art institute of Pittsburgh *cough* would need an unknown # is beyond me

Yes, it's RPM, and a collection agency for sure.   And, yes they are VERY rude.  I just hang up on them mid-sentence nowadays.  This company also uses another number, which is identified as RPM too.  It's 866-212-7408.  Same company, same rude people......just don't answer it.

I have been keeping a running total of calls from these jerks, up to 10 in the last two weeks!!  They NEVER leave a message, & I don't pick up if I am available. I have a very simple rule- If they don't have the common courtesy to identify on Caller ID, & don't leave a message, I DO NOT BOTHER to contact them!!!

I have been receiving calls from RPM. They said that they are a collection agency trying to collect a debt for $1843. I asked them for who they are collecting for? They put me on hold and was rude about it saying they will take me to court if they have to. I asked again who they are collecting for. They said JC Penny's. I told them that I had paid this off 2 years ago and they said that I'm lying and that I still owe them. I told them that I do have proof. All I have to do is pull out that specific bank statement from my file. I didn't even owe that much to JC Penny's. It was around $900 and was behind 3 months then paid it all in full. I don't understand at all. The man was yelling at me saying I will go to jail and I finally said well, I guess I'll see you in court and hung up. Who are these people and what do they really want? I am up to date on all my payments with everyone else I owe. This is annoying.

They call me daily 8-10 times a day. The are on my cell block list. They never tell me what they are collecting for. I told them send sheriff to my house with a capius warrant and I will see them in court.

I never answer but they go to voice mail.  Incredibly, on the voice mail they have the call on hold!  Repeatedly -- sometimes for 4 minutes, all I hear is "All agents are busy, please hold, we apologize for the delay."  Unreal!

Do not call me at work.

I get calls from this number several times a day. About once every few hours. It's very annoying!!  
I want it to stop. I never answer and based on all of your experiences with them, I'm glad I don't! I haven't bothered to block the number through my cell phone company as I'm sure they will just call from a different number. Glad to know its just a scam.
