I keep getting these harassing calls

I got a call from this number and they said it was a Debr collector.  All my bills are paid and I'm not late on anything.  Who are there people?

I just received a phone call from this number as well. They are telling me that I owe over $9000 to Citibank Visa and that they are Security Collections who works for Diversified? As far as I'm concerned, all my debts are paid and there is nothing on my credit report involving this debt. They will not send "any more" documentation to me regarding this debt. I have heard nothing from a Citibank Visa in years whether over the phone or in the mail. Is this fraud? Does anyone know? They expected me to send money right then and there and I advised them they were breaking the law!

I'm in the same boat. Have you heard anymore? I will go to the ftc.

These are scammers grabbing at straws, trying to intimidate anyone into sending them money! You were right not to fall for it and do not talk to them any further.
Two days ago, I saw an unknown local number coming to my cell phone. Only people I know call my cell number (so this is also a new tactic). I ignored the call, but the caller did leave a voicemail. The caller gave me the 877 number to call back. I heard the name "Diversified" and this man saying he "would appreciate my cooperation"! With what, I don't know - because I also do not have any outstanding debts or past due accounts! So, there is no reason whatsoever for debt collectors to be calling me!  Just ignore these types of calls, especially if you know you don't have any debts!
Since they don't have my cell number, they are apparently calling random numbers! I also would not "cooperate" with anyone that does not contact you with written correspondence showing what they think you "owe".  I always Google strange phone numbers, and find so many similar complaints from people who are also being harrassed for no reason.

just got the same message that would "appreciate my cooperation" and call back-which I will not.

i just got a call from these people with the "appreciate your cooperation" line but the original caller id showed this number 267-443-6837 which is a Philadelphia number but the callback number left in the voicemail was for the toll free number. I have no idea who this joker is.

Been calling me for the last couple days, even called my wife cell # and would not give me any info, told them I was going to report them to my state attorny genrals office, the got rude and said so your saying your not going to pay we will press further charges... I told her fine if you have the correct info and the law on your said send me the info and i would have my attorney look at it , she got even more made and hung up the call. I would tell you if you knoe you dont have a bill stick up them and make complaint only way to get calls to stop...

Just rec'd a phone call from a Vancouver, WA number 360-450-6173 with a recorded message to call about a debt collection. All my bills are paid and have been for decades, put the CID number and the toll free number on call block. Eff off.

I just received a call from them. Called from 614-500-4523 and said to call the 877 #.  Saying to call them and thank you for the cooperation.  First give a name your trying to contact not just leaving a message to call.  Not returning their call. If you can't leave information then you don't receive a call back!!

Yeah, my number was Louisiana 318-703-8014. They also stated the same thing. I blocked both numbers including the 877-304-8261 that they said to call back on.

Same as all above.... called this am and left the same message.

The original number for me was in north carolina some 980 area code! CAN YOU SAY SCAAAMMM lol

2Nd time I receive a call from a local number: 954-417-6184. They leave voicemail, but don't say from what company and ask me to call back at the 877 #. You sure, f*** you too!

I received a call this morning from 202-813-1962 requesting me to call 877-304-8261...so I called and this lady picks up and asks me to pay $835. She said this was a mastercard from Bank of Delaware which was opened in 2000 and closed in 2003. I was 15 years old in 2000 and used to live in Germany. She had my social security number and my mailing address. I am very frustrated.

Please do report your caller to the FTC, FBI, Dept of Justice and your state's Attorney General.  Never pay money to any caller who refuses to mail proof that you owe this debt and proof that they have the legal right to collect said debt.  Refusal to mail documentation is a violation of the FDCPA.  Just because a caller has your personal information does not make them necessarily legitimate - it's too easy for hackers and scammers to harvest personal information from the Internet and from disreputable sources (like many online loan sites).

You stated that it's not your debt (due to your age at the time of the alleged debt and also you were in Germany).  However, you may want to get your free credit report (you're entitled to a report from each of the credit bureaus, free of charge, once a year - you can get this here - http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0155-free-credit-reports)  I mention this, because it could also be possible you're the victim of identity theft, so it doesn't hurt to check your report.

I got a robocall from the 646 area code requesting I call the 877 number. They wanted $6065 from Chase.  I told the lady that this was included in a bankruptcy. Apparently she was looking at my credit report as she knew the date was 2008. She said she would "tell them". I hope that stops the calls. I got the same one from a local number 657-218-5603. But left this 877 number.

Just received a call from a local 313 area code so I called back and a woman named Nicole answered to tell me she was from a debt collection agency on behalf of National Bank of Delaware and I owed 600 dollars. I told her I owe no one and she began to talk to me so rudely and went as far as to say to me that I was stalling because I told her I was at work and couldn't talk any further. I am so sick of these con artist.
